“Located in the outlet malls of Essex Junction, this place is big and beautiful and a well regarded addition to the BTV scene. DIning room is huge, modern, yet cozy, with a u-shaped bar. Service was attentive and friendly. Food menu looked interesting with upscale offering (seems they like pork belly). Beers are well done and adventurous. Flight of 4 for around 10$. Distillery on premise is a nice extra.“

“Second stop. Arrived about 30 minutes before close on a wednesday. Pretty quiet. Homebrew supplies take up half the floorspace, bar and a couple of long picnic tables the rest. Flights of four available for about $7, which is a pretty good deal. They had 5 of their own on tap while I was there out of 8 possible taps. I thought beer quality was pretty solid; my scores ranged from 3.7-4.0 for my four beers. Free popcorn.“

The Tavern (Restaurant)

“It’s clean with a decent service here. Bartenders tend to be pretty friendly. Never had the food here. Prices are decent. But either you can go into Burlington for a fair amount of better bars/restaurants or check out some of the other places in Essex Junction.“

“Yes, they have a patio, but it’s also a local joint for comedy club, local music, and karaoke. Only was here once and it’s loud. I didn’t have any food, and though not much of a beer destination, they do have some beers here.“

“Why am I adding a Mexican restaurant to a beer website? And are you tired of that pub fare next door at On Tap? Come here, friends. Aha! Those who have been here know they keep a good local tap of fresh beers. Some Mexican macro beers and margaritas too but I say this place is worth a shot if you’re in the area. Did I mention they make their own chips and salsa? And damn good too!“

“Within biking distance of my house, I can go here and grab some bottles of Queen City, Rock Art, Stone Corral, Idletyme, Otter Creek, Long Trail and Frost Beer Works. Not one of the cleaner bottle shops of the area, but it does the trick when I’m in the vicinity. Tons of other liquor and wine. Service is usually good too.“

“Within biking distance of my house, I could ride if I wanted to that’s how close this stellar little joint is. Always clean, always fun, easy to laugh with the bartenders. Great range of beers from little Vermont breweries to some macros. Food has always been great. Value is reasonable for the area. Of course I go back when I can.“

“Been here a couple of times, have to say some positive things about this place. Always clean, always friendly, never had bad service. Tap lines are always clean. Beer varies in its range from local microbrews to all of your macros. I only ever had their Reuben and for a reason, because it’s the best damn Reuben in this part of Vermont. Value is reasonable. Overall, well I’ve been going back ever since I moved to Essex Junction, must have been there at least 10 times already.“

“Right around the corner from where I live in Essex Junction, these guys moved down from Fairfax to take their homebrewing shop and expand it to their whole brewery. Shawn was pouring and totally conveyed a jovial personality about his beers and really wanted to work with the local restaurants mainly in Essex Junction to get his beers to this area. He seemed really excited about also judging the local homebrewers. Also, they had cheeseboards for sale, glassware and paraphernalia for sale. Free popcorn and crackers. Very clean little place. Great conversation, I know I’m going back.“

“I moved in right down the street so it’s a fairly quick and easy place to go to every now and again. Beers range from quality local microbreweries to a fair amount of BMC beers. Pub fare is good to pretty good. Value seems reasonable for the Essex Junction area. Service can be iffy on Friday nights especially when they do Biker nights. But overall enjoyable.“

Sweet Clover Market (Grocery Store)
21 ESSEX WAY
“Grocery store atmosphere. Walked in after work, just to check out, hmmmm....not one person said something to me. Found the beer section and it basically just was a measly little section off to the left, some cold ones and some warm ones. VT locals, New England breweries, some Canada (Unibroue and Parallel 49). Value, hmmmm, well it’s not any better or any worse than Essex Discount Beverage which is just up the street. I’d rather give Essex Discount Beverage more love than this place.“

“This place actually has been opened for a while but after noticing the beer selection and the friendly service, I figured, hey, pretty good store that seems like it could get some notice on here. While, there is a fair amount of dust on a fair amount of bottles (oh sigh), still the value and what they have seems to be the kicker for this place. I say, when passing through, its a decent place. If you’re too lazy to go into Winooski, sure hit this place up. No Heady, but hey, everything else seemed at the very least somewhat decent“

Sweet Clover Market (Grocery Store)

“This wasn’t a planned beer stop but my wife and I ended up at the Essex Outlets and I checked this place out then. It’s a neat little market type place, think scaled down version of Whole Foods or something like that. The beer was mixed in with the wine, as well as some in the coolers. They had a pretty solid selection but nothing that really jumped out at me, aside from a few from Maine Beer Company. There are better stops but you can certainly find something good here and maybe enjoy some lunch or take home some specialty cheeses, etc.“

“First time here in a long time. Decent selection of tap beers with a couple of unusual ones. Menu was limited to mostly pub fare, but the food was good. Not crowded, so service was good. Some of the taps were frozen when we were there, so the beer available to us was pretty limited. An OK place to visit, if I am in the neighborhood.“
