76 /100 7988 CALIFORNIA AVE The beer here is good but not great. However, the ambience is superb. There is a nice bar with a dozen or so stools, where folks can drink their libation of choice and enjoy a nice meal. The pizzas are great. The barkeeps are friendly and helpful and the customers are quite amicable. My first visit was on a Thursday, which is music night. There was a great jazz organ trio playing on the outdoor stage next to a dozen or so picnic tables placed well for eating, drinking and listening. The native brews may be purchased in regular pours or taster size flights (I think about 6oz). There are also a few guest taps of pretty good beer It was a fun night. |
66 /100 7988 CALIFORNIA AVE a small neighborhood bar with 5 house taps and a half dozen quality guest taps. what little food we had was tasty, if overpriced (ie- $11 for 9 wings). friendly service. |
84 /100 Dad’s Kitchen (Restaurant) 8928 SUNSET AVE Nice venue. Seems significantly more seating than the Freeport location. Beer list seems about half as long, but it’s a decent list. I scored a new local. The food is as good as the other spot. Really enjoyed my sandwich. Parking might be a problem at a really busy time. But there’s more off-street parking than at the other location. Recommended. |
80 /100 Dad’s Kitchen (Restaurant) 8928 SUNSET AVE Food is always good, great burgers, sandwiches and specials. Nice patio to hang out with the family. Great happy hour specials and the taps are constantly rotating with a great variety of local offerings and the unexpected. Glad they made it to Fair Oaks. Our go to spot for beer and good food. |
