44 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 We had a reasonably priced taster tray of 5 beers, 4 of which were their own brews. All bland and supremely boring, apart from the porse ale which we found quite tasty and interesting. Friendly staff with only a rudimentary knowledge of beer. Visited July-17. |
44 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 As far I know, the only place in Frederikshavn resemblant of what you could call a craft beer bar. They brew a handful of beers themselves, none of which are particularly special - but at least the Monster hop DIPA was OK. Tasting trays are available. You’d be better off going for the bottle selection, with a few quality US beers (Lagunitas available at my visit, but probably changing a bit over time). Service was absolutely chaotic, an none of the staff seemed very knowledgeable about the beer. |
50 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 Old school brewpub, like super old school. Almost a time capsule. Three own beers on tap, mostly flavorless. You can get a flight. Food isn’t much better. If you have an hour to kill waiting for the ferry, you could kill it here. Some American beeers in bottles. |
50 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 A fairly cosy place with vintage signs and fun stuff on the walls. Service is very friendly, but seamed odd that she told me that my second beer will not be as good as my first, when serving it. On the map they have a selection of 4 homebrewed beers, but only 2 were available. Food is very good, and prices are fair. |
50 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 Latest visit June 20, 2016. Sampled 4 beers, 2 were really flawed from diacetyl, the other two sort of acceptable. Food was not as good as last time, and more expensive. They seem to think they can have only one girl working the whole bar and restaurant, resulting in fairly minimal service. Not impressed this time, especially not by the beers. Visited on November 23, 2013. I had a steak with potatoe wedges. My company had the pasta of the day, served with some extra bread. Wasn’t asked how I wanted the steak cooked, it came out more well done than almost anything I’ve been served. Tasted OK though dry, but not the slightest bit pink it in to be found. The potatoes were awesome though, could eat just those. The there made bread, shaped like hearts aaaww, was very tasty indeed. The pasta was served as a huge portion, my company couldn’t even eat it all. She was very happy with the taste of it though. As of the price of the food, very low considering we were rather close to the port, or even not considering that, prices for the food was still low, and the portions filling. The menu stated four different there made brews, Merry Jerry, Pale Ale, Red Ale and Porse Ale. 50 cl for 46,- 25 cl for 32,- 1.5 liter for 135,- and 3 liter for 190,- I asked for a 25 cl pour of each of the house brews. Only one glass, Pale Ale, came out. I said I wanted to try all the beers. Next got two sample glasses, one with Merry Jerry and one with Red Ale. Well, the MJ wasn’t really for my taste, so happy I only had a taster of that, the RA was OK, but the Pale Ale my favourite, didn’t order any more beers. When asking about the Porse Ale I heard it was currently not available. Fairly slow service before we were asked what we wanted to eat and drink. Once the drinks came it in was fast, as were the food. After that we sat there for quite some time when finished, just talking, they didn’t return to ask if we wanted anything else. The food was super affordable, got two samples for free and the 25 cl pour for 32 DKR wasn’t bad, the service once they was by us was good. Average age of the four or so people I saw working can’t have been more than 25, if that. Still they were friendly and nice. Rather centrally located, very much within walking distance of the ferry points, and right by the pedestrian main street. It is down a side street though. I’d go back for some cheap food and some there made beers and I might order just the potatoes next time. Tap selection also had 4 macro beers from Carlsberg. Didn’t check for bottled selection. |
54 /100 Vinspecialisten Frederikshavn (Beer Store) DANMARKSGADE 61 A wine and liquor store with a small beer selection. Beers are not rare or very special. Service is freindly, but knows nothing about beer. |
60 /100 Vinoble Frederikshavn (Beer Store) HAVNEGADE 12 En vanlig dansk vinhandel med egen vinnhylle. Vennlig betjening. OK utvalg. Fant ting jeg ikke fant andre plasser. |
16 /100 EuroSpar Læsøgade Frederikshavn (Grocery Store) LÆSØGADE 16 THEY HAVE STOPPED CARRYING SPECIALTY BEERS.
Old review: For a supermarket it really has an excellent selection of both Danish, American and Belgian beers. |
64 /100 Vinspecialisten Frederikshavn (Beer Store) DANMARKSGADE 61 Mostly a wine and liquor store, but with a small and decent selection of Danish micros along with standard Belgian and English brews. Perhaps the most decent stop in Frederikshavn nowadays. |
42 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 Kind of old and worn out looking cafe/restaurant. Friendly service but both the food and the beer is no more than mediocre. |
52 /100 Vinoble Frederikshavn (Beer Store) HAVNEGADE 12 Mainly a wine store, but a small selection of beers too, mainly Ølsnedkeren and Skagen, but also a few others, but don’t think it’s as much as 50 different. Quite convenient location in the city and friendly service. Worth a visit. |
50 /100 Føtex Frederikshavn (Grocery Store) RADHUS ALLE 83 Seems to be pretty new and located slightly further out than other grocery stores, but still easy to reach by foot. Quite decent selection of Danish beer, both the big brands and the smaller, more interesting ones. Some decent imports too, but nothing to interesting, the focus seems to be on the Danish beer. By far the best selection we saw in a grocery store in Fredredrikshavn. Combined it with a visit to Vinoble too and ended up with a fair selection of Danish brews. |
28 /100 EuroSpar Læsøgade Frederikshavn (Grocery Store) LÆSØGADE 16 Not much beer selection to speak of. Could probably have picked up a few bottles of some slightly interesting stuff, but decided to continue to Føtex (which I had visited earlier the same day and that had a much lager selection.) Pretty close to the harbour area, but hardly worth a visit. |
64 /100 Vinoble Frederikshavn (Beer Store) HAVNEGADE 12 A wine-store. Has a small selection of beers, but I normally find something new. Friendly service. |
24 /100 EuroSpar Læsøgade Frederikshavn (Grocery Store) LÆSØGADE 16 Well, the romour is true. They have stopped carrying foreign specialty beers. Some danish microbrewers but not much. Decent prices on the small selection. |
56 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 nice old light dingy place. Lace seats.not too loud music. The waiter is nice and kind but she put here fingers inti the glass. |
62 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 Nothing special except their own beers. They had 4 of their own, when we were there, they are ok. Didn’t have the food, but it seemed ok. Its mostly a restaurant. Nice interiour. Advise to the waiter: Don’t put your finger in my beer! |
74 /100 EuroSpar Læsøgade Frederikshavn (Grocery Store) LÆSØGADE 16 A typical discount supermarket with an atypical beer selection. I have visited this place 3 times in the past 2 month and the selection don’t seem to rotate much but its a great place to stock up on beers from some of my favorite breweries like Lost Abbey, Jolly Pumpkin, Jester King and AleSmith |
74 /100 EuroSpar Læsøgade Frederikshavn (Grocery Store) LÆSØGADE 16 Visited on November 23, 2013. Big selection of both domestic and imports. Fairly nice prices on some of them. Some really nice discunts on older beers they were getting rid of. For a supermarket both an impressive selection and nice prices. A store I’m rather likely to return to, many times I said "I need a damn car!" since I was only there with a small backpack. Well worth to pop into. When checking my receipt to make sure I got the discounts I had payed even less than some of the discounts label stated, when it goes that why I don’t complain! |
44 /100 Vinoble Frederikshavn (Beer Store) HAVNEGADE 12 Walked in on Saturday November 23, 2013. Walked around a bit and checked the beer selection and prices. Selection was not big, and rather few Danish craft, more imports from England and Germany. Prices struck me as farily high. Most interesting were the mead selection where they had 2 I hadn’t sampled before. Left without buying anything, wasn’t interetsing enough for me. Centrally located, very close to the ferry terminal points of exit/entry. Really hard to say anything about the service, I wasn’t approached and didn’t really talk to anyone there. With the Euro-Spar so close, with a vastly bigger and better selection, and lower prices, it is not very likely I’ll come back to this store if nothing changes. |
72 /100 EuroSpar Læsøgade Frederikshavn (Grocery Store) LÆSØGADE 16 A place to visit if in the area, probably by far the videst selection north of the Limfjord. Lots of Danish quality beers, lots of Belgian, British and American, and since it’s a grocery store, there’s of course lots of macros as well. Don’t think you can expect too much help here, but you’re a beer geek and know what you want, don’t you? |
44 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 Friendly but not very knowledgable staff. At the time of my visit, they had 2 of their own beers on tap and a few micros. Didnt try the food. |
36 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 3 taps . Did not try the food. Friendly staff. |
56 /100 Vinoble Frederikshavn (Beer Store) HAVNEGADE 12 A large store but more or less just wine and liquer. Some more beers to choose from. Seens Eurospar is not carrying much specialty beers anymore this is the best place in this town.... |
66 /100 EuroSpar Læsøgade Frederikshavn (Grocery Store) LÆSØGADE 16 Typical smaller supermarket, but with a lot of different beers, more than 200 different I think. Poor service though, they forget which beers are on discount. |
44 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 Bar / brewpub with 5 taps of theyre own beers wich is ranging from poor to average at best. Friendly and helpfull service. Didnt have any food. |
60 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 Visited July 2012: Cosy bar/restaurant. We sad upstairs and had the buffet. Great food especially because there was plenty. Had their four beers, Red Ale, Pale Ale, IPA and Dubbel. The beers were quite drinkable, but nothing special. |
58 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 Small place, an easy walk from the ferry terminals. They had a lunch buffet with pizza, fries and fried chicken which did the job, plus three beers. The IPA was OK. Not a bad choice in a town with few beery places. |
70 /100 Vinoble Frederikshavn (Beer Store) HAVNEGADE 12 Just a few steps from the main tourist office, so also just a few meters from the exit of the Stena line ferry. The beer selection is pretty large for a wine store, and very solid. There was even a beer guy, who knew his stuff! |
34 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 As the beers are completely uninteresting and the interior, especially the entrance and bar area, looks like a wore down old locals place, this is not a place I recommend driving far to visit. I didn’t try their food, but it looked decent, and the service was friendly but not very knowledgeable. If in the area, I’ll drop by to see if there’s something new on tap, but it seems it just their two regulars most of the time. |
56 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 Central located reastaurent though lunch seemed more like Cafeteria-food. Not very good, but then again not very expensive. 2 own brews on tap, and 3 Carlsbergs. When asking about the new beer on tap the waitress phoned the brewer for more information. nice service. |
54 /100 Vinoble Frederikshavn (Beer Store) HAVNEGADE 12 NIce winestore with Ok selection. A few Mikkellers and Skands and other danish micros. Wadworth and St Austell and Nova Pak right now in shop. Friendly staff. |
48 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 When I visited the place it looked pretty empty. Apart from me only 2 more guests. As far as I remember it was on a Saturday afternoon. Huge room with wooden chairs and tables. The beers were not especially good and all I could have were 2 beers but the food was OK. The staff did not seem to know much about beers. They were friendly enough though. |
60 /100 AMALIEGADE 2 A pub and resturant. Young ladies serving the plates and beer. Friendly. Cheap food and quite weak micro beer. Nothing to write about really. Perhaps the ladies . . |
72 /100 Vinoble Frederikshavn (Beer Store) HAVNEGADE 12 Worth stopping by if you are waiting for the ferry to Norway or Sweden. Not a enormous range of beers, but there are some nice ones from breweries like Ølfabrikken and Grauballe. British and Belgian imports. A fine selection of wine, too. With the diminsihing border trade, this is your best bet in town, but check out the Fakta shop up the street for more moderately priced beers. |
58 /100 Vinoble Frederikshavn (Beer Store) HAVNEGADE 12 This is a specialist wine store in a central location (not far from the ferries to/from Norway and Sweden). The beer selection is limited but the beers are all foreign, or domestic micros. Recommended by Danske Ølentusiaster. |
