“Visited with Franco. New brewery in Gastonia just off US 74, in an old light industry building of some sort. Has its own corner parking lot, but you have to almost drive past the place to see it. Large taproom up front with a small bar and some random tables. You walk through the brewery to see its 10 barrel system and just a small handful of fermenters, turn right and you’re outside on a decent sized patio with picnic tables and umbrellas, plus a food truck (BBQ, the day we visited). They ran out of two of their beers during their grand opening, leaving us four of theirs to try, including a dampfbier which was pretty interesting. So selection score should improve with time. All their beers including the IPA were malt forward, in a very good way, and their porter was delicious. They had three guest beers and a cider as well. Friendly and proactive staff knew a lot about the beers. They left me with a very positive early impression, and this will be one to watch.“
