70 /100 Trinkgut (Beer Store) NORDRING 6 Cavernous warehouse with a large selection of mostly German beer, some Polish/Czech, at very reasonable prices. |
64 /100 Bang Bang Burgers & Beer (Restaurant) WEBERSTRASSE 72 Nice burger place with changing beer offerings. Burgers are great too. |
44 /100 Grand Gelsenkirchen (Grocery Store) BOCHUMER STRASSE 156 Menší východsko-evropská samoobsluha na jížním okrají mìsta; vedle rùzných ruských potravin čekájí některá špatná ruská piva, rùzné hnusné ukrajinské ležáky a strašná polská piva svornì na netušicích zakáznicich. Žádná slava… |
70 /100 Grand Gelsenkirchen (Grocery Store) BOCHUMER STRASSE 156 So we’ve been there the first time. I expected a posh little deli with some new beers, but found a giant grocery store of Russian stuff. Beside tons of pickles, fruits, vegs, meat and sausags you find a Polish corner with around 15 Polish beers (only three to four of them are to be found in a normal German bottle shop). Left of the Polish corner you find the Russian beers, where you get e.g. Baltika 0 to 9 plus some special Baltikas, as well some other Russian brands. Prices are very low (around 1 Euro per bottle). You may also find hardcore beer from 1,5 l plastic bottles from Russia. The staff is very friendly and warm, very helpful especially when you can’t read the Russian writing. Altogether there are aound 40 Russian beers, from which I’ve drank only 1. Great place for new beers. |
