40 /100 RTE DE L AEROPORT 21 a small bar with 3 beers on tap (Heineken, Lagunitas IPA and Erdinger weissbier) in the Terminal 1 C gates area |
92 /100 La Jonquille (Bar) CHEMIN DU 23-AOUT 3 an amazing place with more than 30 craft beers on tap almost exclusively from canton de Genève with a clear dominance of L'apaisée beers; must visit place! |
86 /100 BeerMyGuest (Internet-based) RUE DES FALAISES 2 online shop with great selection and super-fast shipment |
62 /100 RUE DES GROTTES 13 well, I have mixed feelings...on the one hand, they have plenty of beers on tap and quite a few great bottles, as well...on the other hand, the music is extremely loud making it basically impossible to enjoy being there and drinking a beer...and honestly, it is shocking that more than half of the people in a taproom is just drinking wine, champagne and f_ckin' cocktails! it was just ridiculous to see people ordering crappy cocktails for around 20 EUR in a TAPROOM!...objectively I should rate this place as someting above 4.0 - BUT I CANNOT BE OBJECTIVE BASED ON PERSONAL EXPERIENCE! If you are in Geneva at the Cornavin train station, I would rather suggest you to visit
Au Coin Mousse - THAT'S A PLACE FOR REAL BEER FANATICS around 100 m from this place |
66 /100 Lady Godiva (Bar) 53 BOULEVARD DU PONT D’ARVE 16 beers on tap and a few bottles, as well. Quite wide selection (and all beers are served in their own glasses) , though nothing really special or interesting (except that the bartender and the whole staff just spoke English by default /similarly to the guests/ so I did not even ask them to speak English instead of French...but in the end, I think it is rather a con than a pro objectively...) |
70 /100 PLACE CORNAVIN 20 In a part of the world infested with frothy lager, this place is a joy, if not altogether cheap. They do their own brews, no fancy names, just white, amber blonde etc. Tried the white and the blonde , both highly drinkable. And on a footie trip, by far the best place we visited. |
66 /100 Grand Duke Pub (Bar) RUE DE MONTHOUX 8 a bit overpriced English-style pub close to the lakeside; 12 beers on tap ( Guinness, Carlsberg, Valaisanne Pale Ale, Cardinal Lager, Kilkenny, Fuller's IPA, Magners, Hop House 13, Staropramen, Stella Artois, Leffe, Hoegaarden) and some correct bottles like Chimay blue, Duvel, Samuel Adams, and so on...and of course some sh_t like Corona and Coors Light; worth visiting |
54 /100 Bignens Vins (Beer Store) AVENUE DE FRONTENEX 4 it's a wine-shop with quite a few beers from Swiss breweries (mainly Appenzell) and some Belgian ones (incl. trappist beers), as well as a few from Germany; not thst wide selection but still worth visitnog - at least once :) |
58 /100 ChefMezze (Bar) RUE DU 31 DECEMBRE 8 probably the cheapest place to drink a beer (4.5 CHF for 0.5 l of La Goudale Ambrée on tap) in Geneva - they have 6 beers on tap from La Goudale and St Omer - worth visiting |
78 /100 Nicolas Les Cygnes (Beer Store) RUE DE LAUSANNE 18-20 it is mainly a vine shop with plenty of local craft beers ( examples: whole sortiment of 7 Peaks, several La Nebuleuse, Cap'tain Mousse, Virage, Brasserie du Haut Lac, Brasserie du Dzô, Docteur Gab's and others), some industrial lagers, but also a few Brewdog, Unibroue and others |
64 /100 Tabac 28 (Grocery Store) RUE DE LAUSANNE 28 a small grocery store with a completely chaotic beer selection; just a few examples: several beers from the Baltic countries, Poland, France, Germany, Brewdog Punk IPA, Belgian classics like La Chouffe, Cimay blue and red, Blanche de Namur, Duvel, etc, English ones like Spitfire, Hobgolblin IPA, Birra Moretti, Ichnuso, Super Bock, Efes, Guinnes, Calvinus, Boxer, Kingfisher ,Kozel, Sagres and so many more - a complete chaos - but definitely worth visiting! |
70 /100 Pub Lord Jim (Bar) RUE DE LAUSANNE 32 Quite good place with considerably low prices compared to Swiss average (as an example: 6.5 CHF for 0.4l Brooklyn IPA from tap); they have 7 taps, most of them are macro lagers and a couple of bottles (mainly Belgian ones), as well; worth stop if you are around Cornavin train station having some time before your train's departure |
60 /100 ALIGRO Geneve (Grocery Store) RUE FRANÇOIS-DUSSAUD 15 A supermarket with wide selection of Belgian beers, Swiss ones (among others, several ones from Dr Gab's, and Nebuleuse), a lot of international beers, quite a few Brewdogs - all in all, it is definitely worth visiting -especially consiering the low prices |
62 /100 Tom Beers (Beer Store) RUE DE MONTCHOISY 12 Ordered online via www.geneveavenue.ch. Delivery took a bit longer due to Covid-19, but two bottles broke in transit. Beers were re-boxed by the post office, but when I received the box five of the beers had been replaced by other beers without consulting me. Even though I was refunded the two broken/missing bottles and the five replacement bottles, this was still quite disappointing. Good selection of beers, though I doubt I'll order any beers from them again. If I'm in Geneva, I would probably drop via their store, though. |
78 /100 Britannia Pub (Bar) PLACE DE CORNAVIN 6 typical English-style pub with surprisingly Belgian-dominant beer selection (with several trappist beers including rochefort 10); worth visiting |
52 /100 PLACE CORNAVIN 20 Large place just across the road from the railway station (also entrance from the next street towards the lake). Busy and quite efficient without being to annoying. Lots of tourist and a weird mix of people. Had the beer taster set and flammkuchen - both were okay - nothing memorable, but perfectly drinkable and eatable respectively. Certainly not a must visit, but convenient if one have limited time/waiting for a train or similar. |
78 /100 In Vinis (Beer Store) 12-14 RUE DES GROTTES a quite hidden alcohol shop with great selection of Whiskys, wines and around 100 beers (even a few bottles from Monyo :) ) |
100 /100 BeerMyGuest (Internet-based) RUE DES FALAISES 2 On-Line shop. Only 75cl bottles. Amazing choice. |
42 /100 Globus (Beer Store) RUE DU RHÔNE 48 Fancy gourmet shop in the basement. Excellent selection of fine food and probably wine and spirits too (didn't look too closely). One shelf of beer with some local craft, and some imports from faraway countries, but nothing too interesting. If one happen to walk past it's at least worth checking out for the food selection, not really anything special beerwise. |
82 /100 Drinks of the World (Genève) (Beer Store) PLACE DE CORNAVIN 7 Excellent selection of bottles, especially craft from unusual countries and then macros from all over the world. Great place for picking up country ticks and brews from far, far away, but also local craft and not so craft is available. Friendly and attentive staff. Definitely worth a visit. |
12 /100 Bistrot Geneve Aéroport (Bar) ROUTE DE L'AÉROPORT 13 3 macros on tap and crappiest service ever. No need to check out unless you're desperate for a tick. |
56 /100 Pub Lord Jim (Bar) RUE DE LAUSANNE 32 Dfmp |
46 /100 Bistrot Geneve Aéroport (Bar) ROUTE DE L'AÉROPORT 13 an Airport bar with 2 beers on tap (Feldschlösschen Original and Brasserie des Murailles La Pieuse) and one or two other bottles from Brasserie des Murailles; ok place if you have plenty of time before departure |
94 /100 Tom Beers (Beer Store) RUE DE MONTCHOISY 12 great place with extraordinary selection of beers; they also have a bar but it was closed when I visited them at around noon.
Update: they npw have 27 beers on tap(plenty of local craft beers but also some Belgian omes, even a few Baladin and Mikkellers) must to visit |
64 /100 Post’Café (Bar) RUE DE BERNE 7 Corect pub with 11 beers on tap (among others: brooklyn ipa and punk ipa) and 10+ bottles;worth visiting |
84 /100 Au Coin Mousse (Bar) 21 RUE DU FORT-BARREAU This is a very good craft beer bar which is somewhat limited by a still-nascent Swiss craft beer scene (outside of BFM). 21 taps, 1/3-1/2 are Swiss craft brewers I've never heard of and the remainder are a mix of beers from around the EU and Canada (harder to find stuff - they clearly put thought into sourcing). Bartenders were extremely knowledgeable (seemed like a lot of people for whom craft beer = IPAs came through on my visit and the bartenders were able to help them expand their tastes a bit) and sampling before ordering is encouraged.
Small but solid bottle cabinet too.
I'm going to rate higher than I otherwise would because of the clear thought put into everything here and on the theory that as Swiss craft beer inevitably matures, this place is very clearly well-connected and well-positioned to get really good really fast.
Only downside is no spectacular beers while there. |
66 /100 Manor Genève (Grocery Store) RUE DE CORNAVIN 6, a large supermarket with several craft beers from Switzerland and other countries |
64 /100 Coop City - Plainpalais (Grocery Store) RUE DE CAROUGE 12 just a coop - but anyway, I like coops here; they have some quite good and special beers for really reasonable prices |
36 /100 Globus (Beer Store) RUE DU RHÔNE 48 well, it's for sure not a beer store, it' only a supermarket with some beers - not better at all than a coop or a manor; visited again on 19 Mar 2021: they have approx 20 beers from Switzerland and French - and that's it... |
34 /100 American Market (Grocery Store) RUE DE NEUCHÂTEL 3 Well, if you want to tick some (well, it's only 2-3 so do not expect more than the minimum which could be covered anyway if you just visit Drinks of the Worlds at the train station) south american countries, it's a place to visit...otherwise it' just an 'American market' |
92 /100 Au Coin Mousse (Bar) 21 RUE DU FORT-BARREAU 21 beers on tap (currently all of them are from Mont Saleve) and several bottles, as well; excellent place for beer fans |
70 /100 La Petite Reine (Bar) PLACE DE MONTBRILLANT Quite unique atmosphere, some taps and bottles, too |
88 /100 Au Coin Mousse (Bar) 21 RUE DU FORT-BARREAU A four-hour stopover at Geneva Airport. Arrivals to train station 4 minutes. Train to the central station - every 10 minutes, takes 13 minutes. Walk to this deceptively simple-looking corner bar - 3 minutes. Allows 90 minutes to drink 6 x 20 cl samplers of different styles from different Swiss craft brewers and take in a plate of eight different cheeses and charcuteries, and make it back for the flight. A satisfyingly neat little trip made easier by well-educated bar staff. |
82 /100 Drinks of the World (Genève) (Beer Store) PLACE DE CORNAVIN 7 No other place in Geneva comes close to this selection of single retail choices, from a wide array of Swiss and other less-seen Euro crafters. They do have a pretty good lineup of American micros too .. although you soon realize they're mostly from places that have been gobbled up. Decent prices, at least for Geneva. Can almost guarantee most beer travelers can find something new here. |
90 /100 Au Coin Mousse (Bar) 21 RUE DU FORT-BARREAU All the previous reviews are spot on. Most definitely the best taproom I've found in Geneva, with an amazing lineup of 21 rotating taps. When I went, about 40% were dedicated to Swiss craft brewers, very cool. The rest were harder-to-find Euro craft brewers. Super friendly and very beer-savvy bartender, too. Two thumbs up! I'll be back! |
48 /100 Montreux Jazz Cafe (Restaurant) ROUTE DE L'AEROPORT 9, CP163 Located in the Geneva airport. Small café with just a few taps and about 4 bottles to choose from. Stopped by during a layover. Nothing too fancy but near my gate. Fairly expensive. Seemed to be busy most of the time. |
Wybór to glównie browary szwajcarskie, francuskie i brytyjskie. 21 kranów. Jest mozliwosc zamówienia róznych desek piwa, w bardzo dobrych cenach (100ml=3CHF). Obowiazkowe miejsce dla beer geeka w Genewie. |
90 /100 Au Coin Mousse (Bar) 21 RUE DU FORT-BARREAU The Best and only craft beer bar in geneva.
Good ambiance, and 3 really good waiters. The sélection is good and change every time with lot of local beer and some one international. |
88 /100 Au Coin Mousse (Bar) 21 RUE DU FORT-BARREAU Medium sized room closed to the Geneva Train Station. Good ambience. Great service. Small but great bottle offer. Excellent tap selection. A mix of Americans, Europeans and Swiss beers. In the Swiss offers, you can find rare or seasonal brews. For example, Barrel Aged versions of BFM, for instance.
Mandatory for beer hunter living or visiting Switzerland. |
82 /100 Drinks of the World (Genève) (Beer Store) PLACE DE CORNAVIN 7 Big beer shop in the city. Well located place near railway station. There are many different beers from around the whole world. |
64 /100 Brasserie Les Sales Gosses (Restaurant) RUE DE STAND 36 Difficult to call it craft bar but not bad |
68 /100 PLACE CORNAVIN 20 Dfmp |
100 /100 Au Coin Mousse (Bar) 21 RUE DU FORT-BARREAU Le meilleur bar de Genève |
