“Nice beer guru sport for hard to find beers, small but with a taproom and a joining room it's a nice spot to taste, Some wines too, the staff know their beers. Lots of Barrel aged beers to select. They collaborated making fine ales with local breweries.“

“Walked in to see a large walk around bar in the center of room, Decor was kinda Irish Pub style more modern. The staff was friendly, and our food was tasty. I enjoyed the two beers I had. Nice place.“

“Go to place for us with a solid selection of crafts that are updated regularly, appealing food offerings that complement the beers+, and an excellent staff to serve both while keeping us entertained! (Thanks esp. to Heather & Mike!)“

“Convenient if you are trying to slip around Chicago. Tons of selection but almost all warm, some of the bottles I picked up were quite part best before dates, but still a great store with a lot of great locals and otherwise“

“Kind of hard to find, it is literally in the basement. Great selection of American craft but not a ton of European. Not a huge selection, but the beer they do have is great and thought out well.“

“This is one of the best Binnys I have been to. The staff was nice, not the most well versed beer guys but they helped me find some nice stuff.“

“Basement shop, so it’s not exactly plush. Dave is a great guy, knows his beer, has great samples, and has excellent recommendations. Prices as good or better than the local Binny’s. If you’re in Glen Ellyn, you should definitely check it out. UPDATE: They have moved into a storefront and have tap lines. The beer is great, the staff is terrific, the prices are right. Go there.“

“Nice selection, but not quite the level of other Binny’s stores. Always helpful staff.“

“Excellent service. Dave is very knowledgable about his products and is eager to talk beer. The shop is small, but has an impressive selection for the size. This is a welcome addition to the Western Suburbs.“

“The Beer Cellar is a small bottle shop in the downtown shopping/dining district of Glen Ellyn. This might be the only Craft Beer bottle shop in Chicagoland. They only carry craft beer. No Bud/Miller/Coors, not wine or alcohol. Nothing else other than maybe some occasional interesting glassware. The owner (Dave) really sets this place apart from anywhere else. He is a beer geek, this is is passion. He one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and is more than happy to talk craft beer as long as you want. He also samples out rare beers from around the country, many from his own collection that are not even available in Illinois. The craft selection is top notch. They have the popular big sellers, a good selection of some of the harder to find imports, and they will get the rare sought after beers, but like everywhere else, they move quick. Prices are about at Binny’s levels. And there isn’t a markup on the limited releases like some mom and pops shops do. As it is in a suburban downtown shopping area, parking can be a bit of a hassle, but there is plenty to do, and is convenient if you are already down there for dinner or whatever.“

“Huge store with a good sized beer selection - it basically takes up the whole right side of the store. The guys there were pretty helpful and knew a bit about beer. They immediately pointed me to the local rack. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.“

“Kind of a small shop in the basement. True "cellar". Smaller selection of decent craft brews. Josh on Tuesday was good to talk with. Decent prices.“

“Usual Binnys selection and prices. Would be out of my way but stopped in when I visited Glen Ellyn. As good as other Binnys.“

“Nice large store with a great selection of beers. Great selection of locals plus quite a few out of state selections and foreign beers. Convenient to 335. Definitely worth a stop.“

“Stopped in November 15, 2011. Very comparable to the Plainfield location. There is a nice wide selection of beers. I noticed a couple shelves with singles only and there were singles spread throughout the beer aisles for select beers, which was nice. Service was good in that I was asked a couple times if they could help, granted I was one of 2 or 3 in the store with 3 employees but still. Would have given an 8 on service, but all 3 employees had no clue what I was talking about when I asked if they were getting LA Angel’s Share. Prices seem really good, especially compared to MN.“

“Quality: This place is always new beers in stock, and has a side stand showcasing all of the new beers that are available. Service: Service is outstanding. Someone is always around and able to help out with questions, and Anthony (the customer service manager) sends out a weekly e-mail with all the new beers they have in stock. Selection: The selection is quite good for domestic craft brews. Some of the international selection is lacking, and it would be nice if they had more than just a few single bottles available. Value: Overall, the prices are pretty good and well in line with other local stores. The sales prices are always very good, and I just picked up a six pack of Great Lakes Dormunder Gold for only $6.49. “

“This is a small store right down the street from the far superior Binny’s Glen Ellyn. While it is small they do not get the traffic that Binny’s gets so you may be able to stumble upon a gem every once in while. Found a bottle of FW Parabola for $14 weeks after the rest of city sold out.“

“Pretty good sized Binny’s with real nice selection of bombers, imports, sixers, etc. Did not see a singles selection, but they have a very nice selection. Probably in the top 2 or 3 Binny’s, and by far the best in the west and NW suburbs. Must stop if in area.“

“By far the best selection out of the Binny’s I’ve visited(which pretty much means the best selection in the area period), as well as the best prices. The customer service is actually quite high as well considering employees actually go out of their way to ask if you need help with anything. I’ve even over heard them discussing beer with other customers. “

“Very large selection of Belgian beers, also several other countries represented plus Midwest craft beers. Basic supermarket layout. Staff very helpful, not overbearing. Prices average.“

“Larger selection than other Binny’s. Many hard to find brews that the other stores don’t carry. Staff was helpful. This and the Plainfield store are the best Binny’s in my opinion.“

“The best Binny’s in the chicago suburbs. I drive about 20 miles to get to it. The beer guy loves beer, gets the best stuff. Always new stuff, great selection. Service is top notch. If it’s available in the Chicagoland area, this place has it.“

“A verynice set-up, nice selection of singles that I’ve not typically seen broken out of sixes or fours other places. Much like the typical Binny’s but maybe a bit nicer to shop at. I was satisfied.“

“a little bit better than the naperville store selection wise. but pretty much the same as what i said about naperville one of the best stores to get anything you wanted or been wanting. of course it does not have every beer you desire but pretty damn close!“

“My first trip to a Binny’s during my time back in the Chicago area. Nice, supermarket style layout with very nice selection (relative to PA at least). Prices are good and their selection of singles is pretty nice, especially those from Founders, Great Lakes, Capital, Three Floyds, and other Midwest brews. Nice place - I’ll be sure to stop back. Very good service“

“Nice clean store - huge selection of beer, wine, and spirits. Lots of Midwest brewers, as well as stuff from both coasts, and europe. Lots of singles. Friendly staff. Prices - probably average, which means no real bargains. But I shop a lot here - it’s easy to run in and grab something from Victory, or 3 Floyds, or even North Coast on the way home from work.“

“I only had about ten minutes to spend in here, but his seemed like a good binny’s. Clean, the beer is well positioned and the selection of singles is quite good. A little out of the way for me but definitely worth a stop if in the area. Seemed to have a better selection than the binny’s near me.“

“An outstanding place and I couldn’t be happier that it is only a mile and a half from my new house. I was only able to spend 5 minutes in the place, as it was just before closing. But, it was enough time to find the elusive Jolly Pumpkin Luciernega and Avery Mephistopheles. Lots of singles, both import and American. Prices are decent; not high not low. Really a fantastic selection. I don’t know how this compares to other Binny’s as this was my first one.“

“A decent entry into the Binny’s group, having a large beer selection. Plenty of single bottles to choose from - even a handful I hadn’t yet tried. I’d stop in again if I was already in the vicinity.“
