“Big place. Lots of tables. Sat at the long bar. Kinda empty even though a big downtown event was just ending. In downtown Grayslake, which is nice. Street parking was free and fairly ample. Bartenders friendly. Tried four beers. Session IPA, Pilsner, Saison, Stout. All were drinkable. First three pretty good. Stout was disappointing. Prices decent. Flight of four and two four packs of imperial IPAs to go ran $47 including tax and tip. Food available, but I didn't try it or see it. Overall, worth a stop if in the area.“

The Vine (Restaurant)
101 CENTER ST
“Visited mid-November 2018 with a couple of friends. Known as The Vine - Martini & Wine Bar, I believe. They had martinis and I had craft beers. They are on Untappd which was helpful! Cookie cutter "hip" place downtown Grayslake. Our bartenders were friendly and helpful. A very interesting mix of people ranging from young hipsters to old white ladies drinking wine. Again, it's a bit of a cookie cutter "hip" martini place where all the other restaurants and bars etc. are. I gather there's not a lot open late in this area, so it was pretty busy on a Saturday night. Good selection and variety of beers, I was able to get several I hadn't had. We'll probably go back when we visit my friend in Grayslake! (We didn't try any food this time around)“

“Smaller taproom, a bit loud and packed at mid day, parking is slightly limited. Beers were decent. Bartender knew his beers. Upper scale customers. I heard it can get more lively during Blackhawk games. I saw lots of bicycles park outside.“

“Went on a weeknight right after opening so quiet. Staff was knowledgeable, explaining selection. Must have caught them in between batches as out of some styles. Some solid, some o.k. Love the hockey theme. Said they were expanding and moving next store. Looking forward to a return visit.“

“Small "suite" under an apartment complex (?) just off the downtown square of Grayslake. Parking is suspect. Attentive bartender came to our table and took our orders. One tap was out, so we had five to choose from. Two of those were styles I would likely never drink. Two of the other three were decent, but nothing to write home about and a bit overpriced. Oh, and it was Saturday night in a 200 square foot space and they had a band playing with giant speakers. No thanks. We left quickly. At least you can quickly walk into town and hit a few other bars. The Vine and Emils both have much better options. Return visit seems unlikely, even as a Blackhawks fan“

Wine Knows (Beer Store)
1130 E. WASHINGTON ST.
“Its a nice little bottle shop, and Phil the owner is a great guy. Staff is more knowledgeable about wine than beer, but they know a bit about their styles and if you go in looking for say an IPA they can direct you to a few choices. The 3 downsides: Its more of a wine shop so selection is small. That being said you should be able to find something in a style that will please you They store a lot of their beer in cases on the floor in front of the windows. There is an overhang on the building, but it does have a southern exposure, so the beer could be stored better. Price is generally $0.50-$1.00 per container more the the big local retailers. I probably hit the shop a few times a year, and if I’m driving by I always set a side 15 min. to pop in and see what they have.“

Wine Knows (Beer Store)
1130 E. WASHINGTON ST.
“This is a little store right across from CLC in a strip mall. While it is mainly a wine store, one whole wall ( ~20ft.) is for coolers full of quality beer. American beers would include: Flossmoor Station, 2-Bros, Lakefront, 3-F, Lagunitas, and Founders. Imports include: nice selection of Unibroue, Hofbrau, Spaten, and many Belgians. Prices seem very good with some below what I have seen elsewhere. Probably the best place between DiCarlo’s and Woodmans in IL.“
