“Visited 01/04/17, on route to a wedding. Chose this place as a lunch stop because of the earlier review. Luckily the shop itself is very nice (shabby chic, I guess), the food was good and staff very helpful and friendly. And my wife didn’t cotton on that my choice of venue was purely based on beer. The beer selection isn’t vast but is top class for a small village. Around 10 different beers from local breweries plus bottles and cans from Beavertown, Buxton, The Kernel, ABC, Tempest and Magic Rock. Perhaps other UK breweries I’ve forgotten. Also a few foreign beers (2 beers from de Molen) and a few British and French ciders. Circa 50 beers in total. Local beers can also be drunk in the café - I am not sure if they would argue if you picked up a beer that wasn’t local, I just picked up a BlackBar DoveStep to have with my lunch.“

“This is a village deli under the same ownership for about 15 years and great for top rate cheese / cold meats / tea & coffee / prepared salads and stuff. Recently expanded to get a tea-room style cafe with a garden, and about 30 beers exclusively from small local producers, some ultra-micro. Their track record in everything else is to ditch what is rubbish but help develop talented stragglers.“
