66 /100 Total Wine & More - Greenfield (Beer Store) 8700 W. SURA LANE Typical Total Wine - good selection of local, national and a decent selection of international brands. Big issue here is that the person stocking the singles placed beer in a very haphazard way that in no way relates to the corresponding style selection, so it's basically a giant Easter egg hunt. |
70 /100 Total Wine & More - Greenfield (Beer Store) 8700 W. SURA LANE Typical TW. Come here for ticks. I've been to many a Total Wine and this one seems to have a bigger emphasis than normal on seasonals, which is always a plus. They have a few taps. but limited tasting hours so I could not try something that looked tasty. Instead that place was being used for a demo of some spiked seltzer. Prices are good. Good selection as I easily filled 3 six packs of singles. No customer service offered in the aisles but cashier is friendly. Worth stopping by if you're nearby and need ticks. |
84 /100 7808 W. LAYTON AVE. Hey, I got to add the new Brass Tap in Greenfield, WI! (It opened in January 2015.) I haven’t been to any other Brass Taps, but I can tell you this one is a single large, loud room squeezed into a strip mall with a Panera’s, dry cleaner and low-cost medical imaging facility among its neighbors. Inside is a full-service bar that runs the depth of the main room with a few dozen high tables and a dozen TVs. The beer selection is immense, with an especially nice selection of Wisconsin breweries, and the bartenders knowledgeable. Only down side was no tasting flights, just pints and snifters [June 2016 update: tasting flights now available: 4 for $10]. You are offered endless samples, though. There’s a wide-ranging food menu with prices similar to the local Friday’s and Applebee’s, and the prime rib tacos and prime rib sandwich we tried were tasty. We’ll be back. |
66 /100 Sendiks Market - Greenfield (Grocery Store) 7901 W LAYTON AVE Not a bad liquor store for a grocery store, Sendiks always seems to have a decent selection. A cold single serve/build your own 6 pack section is always nice. Prices in line with grocery stores in the area and you can pick up the Sendiks house brews here. |
