“Despite the pictures on Google, this place is dead on a Sunday afternoon. Quiet. Large open seating area, mix of picnic tables, tables and high standing surfaces. Wood and steel. Good service.“

“Inside a strip mall, this pretty much a sports pub. Not a lot of ambience. U shaped bar and several small booths, patio. It's next to a church, so lots of people headed over for brunch (it's Sunday morning).“

“This place is a chain so my expectations were tempered. 15 of their own beers, 1 guest tap. They brew a lot of different styles; what I had was ok. Food was also ok. Service was kinda slow considering they weren't all that busy. Overall there are better places to go.“

“This is without a doubt, one of the best stores in the chain.....conveniently located at the corner of Fry Rd and US31.....Huge selection of locals, nationals, and imports.....staff was impressively friendly and helpful......didn't get to check out the liquor section on my first visit.....but it looked VAST......plenty of room to browse, plenty of choices.....ABSOLUTELY worth a peek if in the area.“

“First visit to a BJ’s...very rich, swanking looking place with a big beautiful bar. Sampled 5 of their offerings and would sum them up as Bud Lites with some flavoring (mostly sugar) in them. Glad they had guest taps as their beers were not drinkable. Service was good. Food was OK, but expensive. Every time I go into one on these chains I always leave wondering why I went there in the first place.“

“Nice large brewpub convenient to I-65. They were one of the first Indiana breweries to bottle (must have a decent local fanbase as most of the bottled beers are middle of the road but somehow still survive). Nice menu - recently selection has improved with more special/seasonal beers. Good place if you want a decent pub meal.“

“Large warehouse style brewery with a bunch of picnic tables up front, tons of good graffiti. Look for my name while you’re there. Eight beers on offer, all were decent enough. Nice stop.“

“On the corner of a strip mall, not especially easy to see. Inside is divided into rooms, the front having an 8 seat bar. Rough picnic tables provided most of the other seating. The brews are somewhat standard, not particularly complex, but serviceable none-the-less. There are 10 house brews, available in flights at about $1.50 apiece. Comfortable place.“

“In a stripmall - a basic building with picnic tables in main room and basic folding tables in a side room. Have a couple guest taps and wine plus a very limited menu - guessing they will improve as they go along. A welcome addition to Greenwood area.“

“A restaurant/brewpub on the outskirts of Indy. It seemed akin to a Rock Bottom sort of establishment- lots of tables, a small bar, focus on sports. The beers themselves were mostly mediocre. The IPA was good, but the wit bier, pumpkin ale, and porter were below average. The pecan pie I had was tasty but that’s all the food I had. Definitely skip this place in favor of other Indy breweries, as the beers are of lesser quality in comparison. Keep your expectations low and you’ll be ok.“

“Comfortably appointed small brewpub in a small strip mall...pub, regular bar, dining and patio areas. Beers are generally pretty solid, but they don’t do a lot of the tap rotation that keeps raters circling back....Although, they do have some nice seasonal and annual offerings. Food is very good and pricing is a little lower than average....pints are a good deal at $3.50.....staff is very attentive, though not as informed on details as some...it can be a trial to get the specifics on a new release....though the brewmaster does return calls and messages... I enjoy this place a lot, I just wish they offered a wider variety and frequency of beers.“

“Way overdue review from 12-13-2009. Chain brewhouse with very, very friendly staff and Brad our server was top notch! Very knowledgeable about the available beers and he was impressed with my beer knowledge. The beers I had were average for a chain brewhouse. None of them really knocked my socks off, but they were quaffable. Did not partake in any food, but what I saw being served looked quite tasty. They have a good list of Belgian bottled beers and a decent guest tap list.“

“Small town place, that you get the feeling is a big locals joint. Being so close to Indy, I can’t imagine going here for really any reason unless you want a true brewpub experience in Indy and don’t want to head to the Broad Ripple area. Cheesy franchise feel inside, decent patio, but no dogs so kind of pointless. Typical bar food fair, but better than I expected. 8 beers on tap and nothing worth a squat. This place is a skip.“

“Brand new spot in a small industrial-zoned strip building.....not much yet, but getting itself going. Basically a room with a set of taps....3 pouring at the start-up. Growlers, Bostons available, also some swag....pint glasses, shirts...regular t and v-neck with a nice company logo. Decorated in industrial blacks and metals with a quirky sci-fi B-movie tap bar/register.....a pretty neat little spot whose first offering are excellent.....and more on the way.“

“Stopped in once to try a few beers and grab a six pack. A large restaurant with a bar off in another room. Only one or two draft only beers on tap with bottles available for sale. Didn’t try the food. Service was fine but weren’t to sure about the beers. Prices were quite nice.“

“Been to this place several times. Food variety is better than most brewpubs. Beers are ok. Service was slow and unattentative. I guess the server felt if you come in alone you’re not going to want anything. Hostess was more interested in texting than greeting or seating guests.“

“Was here a few days ago for lunch, had been in the mall a few times years ago but never thought this to be a place to stop for a flight. Chainy/corporate design, lots of wooden booths and lamps, but the service and chatty environment were good, the food was good enough, and the seasonal might just reward a trip as much as the ticks. Obviously abundant parking. I’d come back again, had a decent time.“

“Easy to find location in the front mall with good parking in front. Clean corporate inside with wood bar and tables. Brewing equipment behind glass at the end of the bar for brewing soda. Freindly service with good knowledge of selection of 10 taps. All beers average drinkable with good selection of styles. Good food menu of starters, sandwiches and pizza. I enjoyed the visit.“

“Ambiance is a typical brewpub, but in the summers you can request an outside table out back, which I recommend. The service, price and food taste/quality are all pretty much typical for a brewpub, but if you sit at the bar you will be well taken care of. The selection of their beers is broad, and they do have other brews available if none of theirs tickles your fancy. Overall a great place to stop if you are on the South Side, but we don’t go there very often because it is pretty far out of the way.“

“Decided to visit this place while in Indy visiting family. The place kinda has a chain restaurant feel, but not nearly as annoying as some. The place is big and open, with lots of TV’s adorning the walls. Seems very family friendly The service was pretty good, the waiter we had was right on top of everything. He definately made sure that when our beers started getting low, he was there to ask if we wanted another. Quick, timely, friendly service. It helps that we were there with my brother who appears to be a regular, or at least he knows this particular waiter. The food was actually pretty good, we got the deep dish pizza, and it was much better than I expected. We also got the pazooki for dessert, and it was terrific. The variety of menu items was very nice too, lots of options for everyone. The beer was much better than I expected, my wife got a sampler of all 7 of thier offerings (excluding the IPA), so I got to try each of them. Good stuff, The Pirhanna Pale Ale is particularly good. I got a pint of the Kolsch (really good), the IPA (Very good, but not quite as good as the Pale Ale), and the Imperial Stout (Pretty good).I was fairly impressed overall. The only let down is that they don’t brew thier beers on site. That kind of made this more like a visit to any other chain restaurant, rather than a brew pub. “

“While in Indy I stumbled onto this place and decided to give it a try. Typical brewpub feel, the brewing operation was visible through windows. Ample seating with several televisions playing sports stations. Unfortunately we were seated in an area where the brewhouse was not visible. The food was average, lots of choices, but average at best. The beer menu was decent for a small brewpub, I think there were 5 or 6 beers available. My wife had the sampler, and I had the Indiana Amber. The amber was decent, a little forgetable, but not bad. Among the beers on the sampler was a belgian witbier, an APA, a porter, a rasberry wheat fruit beer, and the amber. The belgian witbier was OK at best, but I would not order it again, and the Rasberry wheat beer was pretty bad. The APA and the porter were decent. Unfortunately, they did not have any guest taps, so if you are less than blown away by thier offerings you are out of luck... The service was disappointing, our server knew nothing about the beer, and rarely checked on us to see if we needed anything else. I think they need to do a better job at training thier staff on the beers that they offer. Overall this place was not bad, but it was far from stellar. None of the beers were good enough to draw be back in there for a repeat visit.“

“We have visited here several times on trips to Indiana, and I have never been terribly impressed with the beer. It is a good and solid brewpub, but the beer is only very drinkable and not exceptional. The food is above average and the service has always been prompt. Wide selection of menu items and usually 4-6 beers on at a time. I will agree that the prices are reasonable for what you receive food and beer-wise. Definitely worth a stop when in Greenwood.“

“Hometown brewery and a family restaurant, but the beer flavored artwork balances this well. OB’s food is pretty darn good and service is quick and friendly. Try the Gnaw bone Pale Ale and Superfly IPA. If you are not afraid of the dark, try the Snake Pit Porter will make you smile Other beers include Indiana Amber, Razz-Wheat, and Uberweizen but are not my favorite brews, yet are excellent beers for their style.“

“Before I was really into beer, I lived a few miles down the road from this place and ate here 1 or 2 times a number of years ago. I decided to re-visit the place during a recent trip to Indiana. My wife reminded me that the food was lousy when we last went there, and she was right. Decor is that of the cheesy place next to the airport. You know, the one with the plane sticking out of the building? Service was slow. I was alone and sitting at the bar, and it was still slow. Organizationally, something was off. The one bartender had to continually pour drinks for waitstaff (at the expense of those at the bar) or disappear into the back for long periods. Beers were a little on the boring side. I had the SuperFly IPA, which was the most extreme at 5.8% ABV and a professed 100+ IBUs (although it didn’t seem that bitter). My wife has a long memory - but the food is still lousy. Not really worth a stop. If you’re in Indy, go to Brugges Brasseries or Rathskeller instead.“

“This is my hometown brewery and I may be a little bias, but I will be as honest as one can be. It is a famaily restaurant, but the beer flavored artwork balances this well. Food is pretty darn good and sevice is quick and friendly, although sometime not as knowledgable as a beer geek would like. On nice summer days the bier garden is the place to be. The beer! I am a fan of hops and Mark (brewmaster) has done wonderful work with the Gnawbone pale ale and Superfly IPA. If you like em dark the Snake Pit Porter will make you smile and requet the Snake Venom(a bourbon barrel stout) that has only been brewed once, but was the best beer I’ve ever had at OB. They have bewed a light helles for those hot days this summer(very good). The Indiana Amber, Razz-Wheat, and Uberweizen are not my cup of brew, yet are excellent beers for their style.“

“A nice little place in an empty little strip mall. Definitely worth a visit if hitting up PartyPak, and vice versa - they’re about ten minutes away from each other. Exceptionally clean for a restaurant serving such greasy food. Burger was succulent, with fresh ingredients (especially the onions), and very good fries. Tanks to see behind walls of glass. Waitress was friendly and accommodating - and no charge for the samples! As for the beers themselves, OB is somewhat hit-and-miss...

OK, I’ve been here three more times, the beer having consistently improved, with the bonus of regular one-offs and tweaked recipes (e.g. oak cubes in the porter). Had an improptu tour with new headbrewer Mark, who was funny and informative, and really won me over for the place. Didn’t know they had a Biergarten out back (had to be told), but it looks like fun for the springtime. I’m sure to pick up a growler every time I’m around the south side of Indy (love me some Suupaafly“

“Located in a small, well-kept shopping center. Friendly, prompt service. The atmosphere is classy enough but still very inviting to any average Joe. They offer a beer sampler, good price. I ate a philly chicken cheesesteak which was affordable, large, and quite tasty. It came fast enough that I was still sampling brews, so it sat and became slightly cold. The bartender offered to set it under the heat lamp for me, but I politely declined because my pickiness for food is nowhere near my selectiveness pertaining to beer. For anyone traveling along the interstate in this area, I would highly recommend stopping here. The beers were of above average quality for this kind of setting.“

“Good food, nice menu. Quiet usually. New no smoking ordinances have eliminated some of Skip’s entourage from the guest list other than in the Beer garden (weather depending, of course). Get a Schmoozer Card if you are going to make this a frequent stop.“

Full menu with a seperate page for the day of apps, main course and seasonal beers. The Greek Pizza was very good. Had the sampler of beers. Good selection of brews with sampler page for reference.“

“It’s a nice place to stop for a beer and a meal. I think this place is on an upswing. They have great unique specials in addition to what you would call pub fare. Their regular beers are solid and some of their seasonals are top notch. You get the expected brew pub feel with the rare bottles lining the cieling and the fermentation tanks behind glass. The staff is more knowledgable than some, and minors are allowed in the resturant portion. It’s right of of I-65, south of Indianapolis, and a much better option than stopping at a Chilli’s or Applebee’s if your on the way through.“
