“A new taproom in Hasselt, with 12 taps. 7 beers on tap are own brewed beers, others are guest beers from nice national and International breweries. Beer-flights and flights with food pairing are available. Nice interior: combined classical, industrial and modern. Great terrace in the middle at the city ! 200m from the trainstation. Do a lot of activities, check the website !“

“Best craft-beer bar in Limburg, with 12 beers on taps of which at least 6 homebrewed beers and an often changing range of guest beers. Nice atmosphere with great service and beer explanation by the owners. Must-visit for every craft beer lover!“

“Fairly quiet on our visit at 10pm on Friday evening. 12 beers on tap although untappd listed all 17 that they brew. They serve a high five, which is 5 X 15 cl of a set choice of beers. You could also choose 3 X 15cl of beers of your own choice. One of the beers was Special Belge. The barman came over and explained the history of this style of beer and told us that it is now only brewed by 5 breweries.“

“Located on a corner opposite the cathedral. The draft beers are all the usual stuff. They do have a selection of locally brewed beers in bottles of which we tried 6. Main man was a little grumpy, but we think that is just his way.“

“Great friendly place just outside the ring road. 12 beers on tap and some cans and bottles in the fridge. Geert the owner/ brewer knows his stuff after all he is a beer sommelier. The day we were there the boys from Boes were there promoting their first commercial brew. There was really a great atmosphere. The other servers were also very knowledgeable. They are currently setting up the brewery in the area off the courtyard.“

“Best craftbeer place in Limburg! 12 taps with rotating beers (6 of their own beers on tap and 6 guest taps), a fridge full of cans and bottles and great fingerfood. They even have a beer & food pairing flight of three beers with matching fingerfood. The owners are very knowledgeable and super friendly. And soon they'll be opening up their own brewery there as well.“

“The new ‘city brewery’ of Hasselt, with plans to establish itself in a few other Limburg cities as well. Located handily in the – altogether small – city centre of Hasselt, right across some hipster restaurant where we had lunch, the entrance is somewhere at the back of an alley, but easy enough to find. Clean, brand new and polished, this place offers their home-brewed beers on tap and canned (or sometimes bottled), so takeaway is possible; the beers were technically correct to actually good, though not everything which was advertized was also available at the time – shame, I really wanted to taste something by Microbrouwerij De Rechter, which collaborates with this city brewery sometimes. A craft beer ‘compromis’ kind of style, still rather accessible to the Belgian palate and in that sense more traditional Belgian idiom infused with some global craft beer elements, this may not be the most exciting brewpub to many present-day hipster tickers, but I like their rather modest and careful approach, after all they need to cater to a larger audience and they still have to prove to the world what they can do. Already co-organising a very interesting tasting festival this spring, involving hyped names such as Bofkont and Bokke, I am confident that we (and I mean the other Flemish provinces apart from Limburg too) will hear more of this brewing project soon enough. This Brewmine TAP is determined to stay in the game and make a name for itself in the Belgian beer world, mark my words for it.“

“Small café in the Hasselt city centre explicitly advertizing itself as a specialty beer pub, so far that reason alone, at least worth a brief mention on this site. Visited on a quiet night (early in the year and early in the week), with only a few locals inside at the time, including one elderly man hanging around the bar. Smallish, narrow room decorated with more music-related things than beer-related, vinyl album covers from the eighties for example (with eighties pop music playing in the pub as well). The beer menu consisted of a simple, small ring binder with one beer depicted on each page – almost childishly simple; all were Belgian and traditional, with no sign of what we would nowadays call ‘craft’. Tripels, blondes, dubbels, sweet fruit beers – though admittedly some come from more recently established and relatively local producers (especially Limburgian), such as René. I found only one single tick here, one of the newer Wilderen beers. No place for the seasoned ticker, very clearly, but in itself still an agreeable place with friendly service (apparently the youngest bar tender in town when he started) – as usual in Limburg.“

“Old school brown beer café in Hasselt, with a menu offering a range of Belgian regional and less regional (family-owned) beers. Many of the familiar names of course, also a few lesser known such as e.g. Kale Ridders from Leuven, and also a separate page with Limburg beers, albeit not the newest: it should be noted that the Belgian province of Limburg in general has seen a wave of new brewers too recently (a bit later perhaps than the other Flemish provinces, but still), yet none of those newest ones are represented here. I would have gone all excited over this beer map twenty years ago, but in this day and age, it feels rather outdated, even if it certainly contains beers which did not exist twenty years ago, obviously. Apart from a few foreign of the trappist ales, all Belgian too. Food limited to typical bar snacks; crowded place as well, clearly aimed at a young audience and with music playing very loudly – too much so for me personally. Quick and friendly service, though. I would have really loved this back when I was sixteen years old – because it sure reminded me of the type of brown pubs I used to explore back then, while venturing into the realm of beer...“

“Toffe plaats met heel wat bieren op de kaart. Jammer dat ze zich houden aan de ietwat conventionele bieren... Een bezoekje waard, maar niet de naam waard van biercafé...“

“Visitee 2200 on 12.12.2019. Walked in and place smelt toiletish, several tables empty, had a look at draught taps and no good beers on, then the bar worker told me I had to sit at bar as was by myself in a a very terse way. Well that was an easy decision, they don't deserve my money, u turn and off to the superb Hemelrijk where I was treated like a human being and not like a stray dog.“

“Een klassieker in Hasselt, alleen voel ik daar zeer weinig liefde voor het vak. Verder is het een schitterende plaats om een bier te drinken en zelf om buiten te zitten op het terras in de zomer!!“

“Easy to find place in Hasselt centre. Nice interior with places to sit at the bar, tables on a slightly raised level and on the first floor. Place had a nice atmosphere I thought. Huge beerlist and they even had about 5 new beers for me as well. I tried two if them and they were quite pleasant. Friendly barman (owner?) So overall a nice experience.“

“Maybe the best place for beer in Hasselt as far as selection goes, which really doesn’t say much, Stadhuis has more local character,... Both are very far from essential. They have basic lambiek offerings, Stille Nacht (@Mathieu87 review, 4.60 euro these days),.... Standard prices. Classic Belgian restaurant feel but they only serve snacks. Service was weird, they saw us enter but we had to wait for our quirky waiter for some time. They have a lot of beers but almost all of it is quanity above quality. There were a few beers now to me here but all of them within bland BE blond-bruin-tripel category. Meh. Might opt for Stadhuis if I can sit outside if I wind up back in Hasselt or just check out of their wine bars instead.“

“Very central as is everything in Hasselt, located next to the city hall. Visited during carnival. Atmosphere inside was not my thing, loud carnival music, crowded, massive amount of pale lager consumed, wacky hats etc. No idea if that is the usual scene or just due to Carnival. Outside on the patio it was far more pleasant. Seasoned service. Largely good services, Martens Pils while awful is very cheap at 1.80 euro. Only one expensive (oddly so bottle). This is very much a local bar, everyone seemed to know one and other. 100 % locals. This is just you typical small village bar. They to feature some local breweries, Martens (abysmal industrial fare), Ter Doolen (meh) & Kerkom who actually make a few quite nice beers, including Winterkoninkske which is one of the most underrated beers in Belgium. Maybe 1 or 2 highly unessential ticks. You can get a few good beers, if you are in Hasselt you might as well go here.“
