76 /100 20 MAIN STREET Nice little spot right on the main drag of High Bridge. Nice tap room with a decent amount of seating. Outdoor tables in the front on Main Street. 10 or so drafts on my visit. Nice spot overall. |
84 /100 Circa (Bar) 37 MAIN STREET I’ve enjoyed my visits to Circa. The food is special...high quality and inventive. It’s especially nice to find such a fine beer list...not large but definitely quality over quantity. I have stopped here many times to complete a nice country drive or on the way back from a trip up I81/I78. The character of the place is special and the servers interesting and enjoyable to interact with. I can often count on my favorite Lagunitas IPA being on tap. I recommend a visit here anytime. Go for the food...the beer is icing on the cake! |
88 /100 Circa (Bar) 37 MAIN STREET CIRCA is a great beer/dining experience. I agree with the other raters - one of the best beer bars, albeit with just 7 or 8 on tap, in NJ. Rudy, the owner, and his wife have done a truely stellar job with this place. Great seafood, creative ’small plates’ and home-made dishes are excellent. The food is on the pricey side for a tavern, but it is made up for with excellent service and ambiance. But make no mistake - the beers, and Rudy’s knowledge and passion for the beers, carry the place! Of the 7 or 8 taps, there are always a few I have never tried on tap. Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary, Abita Harvest, Sierra Nevada Southern Hemisphere, Terrapin Rye Pale Ale, Long Trail Milk Stout, Flying Fish Doublefish, Ommegang Tripel, etc are examples of recent offerings here, at the right temperature, in the right glassware, with a smile and knowledgeable presentation from Rudy. Highly recommended for beer geeks! |
86 /100 Circa (Bar) 37 MAIN STREET I agree w/ everything Adamskillin said. Great beer selection good prices for beer.
The only knock I have against it is the food is overpriced in my opinion Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind paying for a great dining experience. I just don’t feel the food measures up to the price tag. Just my opinion. One exception, the hummus is AWESOME!
Overall great place to go to meet some friends to session some brew you may never have had. |
92 /100 Circa (Bar) 37 MAIN STREET My very good friends are the owners. I’m not gonna claim to be unbiased or objective. This is the best beer bar in NJ, hands down. Always something I’ve never had on tap (and always something GOOD), the staff can pair beer and food like no other place, and the prices are beyond reasonable (almost all beers are $5/pint. Super cheap for NJ) Love it. Also I can walk there so I am the luckiest human on earth. Every bartender there knows beer, most of the servers, and the owners DEFINITELY! |
