90 /100 Den Venetiaen (Bar) GEMEENTEPLEIN 22 Nice pub in the very center of Hoegaarden (which is actually a town and not only the famous witbier brewed there). Seven taps, loads of Belgian ales (including all Trappists but Westvleteren) and some food. Outdoor terrace when the weather’s fine. They serve on tap Venetiaens blondje, a special 7% blond ale you can only taste there. Worth a visit. |
86 /100 ABC Drinks Hoegaarden (Beer Store) KLEIN OVERLAAR 54A Almost exclusively Belgian beers. Fine selection, some rare 75cl bottles. Not always the hard to get stuff, but still a decent selection of specialty beers. |
86 /100 ABC Drinks Hoegaarden (Beer Store) KLEIN OVERLAAR 54A We found this bottle shop by chance, while driving trough Hoegaarden, and couldn´t resist to take a look. We went out with 30 amazing bottles. Lots of Lambics, some of them hard to find, and really good belgian ones: De la Senne, De Dochter, Liefmans, Lindemans, etc. Really good prices compared to any bottle store in Brussels or mayor cities. If you go to Hoegaarden this shop is a must! |
84 /100 2 ERNEST OURYSTRAAT The oldest house in town is dressed up inside as a modern pub-cum-restaurant and on the Sunday evening we visited had a large, local audience. Servings looked to be big and popular, but we didn’t eat. Very pleasant atmosphere. Serves their own beer (of course) and also offers various Belgians, including some trappists. Very friendly staff, who was happy to put together bottle sets for us even though they weren’t done labelling :) |
64 /100 2 ERNEST OURYSTRAAT Nice tap selection of house beers, decent but small menu, worth the stop to or from Brussels if your looking for decent beers and a bite to eat. |
94 /100 2 ERNEST OURYSTRAAT nice place to taste the home made beers (4 so far) only open in evening, nice ambiance. |
84 /100 2 ERNEST OURYSTRAAT Great ! Nice place also in de garden of the brewery.

80 /100 2 ERNEST OURYSTRAAT Visited too late for Good Beer Guide Belgium 2009. Hoegaarden’s better brewery should move 100 metres down the way later this year but even when it does its tap will remain this ancient-and-modern cornerhouse. Two beers thus far, both a cut above most other Belgian brewpubs. Enough in the way of bar snacks to keep the interest. Great courtyard in summer. |
