“On the main road between Bolton and Ramsbottom, but much closer to the latter - north of Bury. It’s slightly set back from a road junction, but it’s a huge detached building and well lit up in the evening so it should be obvious. There’s parking on three sides, which will almost certainly be full in peak times, so you might have to put the car on the side road above the pub to its north. The central entrance opens into a large open plan ground floor with plenty of seats, all well lit, and set up so there’s plenty of dining space and food is a popular option here. Just drinking seems as popular and there’s a long ’L’ shaped bar in the centre and extending to the right of the pub. Here there’s two rows of hand pumps, most of which seem to rotate and include plenty of local and regionally produced ales.“

“Situated on the circular bus route from Bury to Ramsbottom on a busy road junction this is quite a huge pub with plenty of room. Decent looking beer list focussing on micros from the North West. Picked up a few interesting beers from Blakemere and Lytham. A few on from the larger breweries too. Good selection and would visit again.“

“A lively local with a good range of cask ales. The beers on cask are listed on a large blackboard at the back of the bar – the first thing that caught my eye on entering the pub, which is on the main road between Ramsbottom and Bolton, north of Bury. There were ten (mainly local-ish) beers and a cider, giving plenty of choice. As noted in one of the reviews below, you can check on the pub’s website what’s currently on offer. We didn’t eat but the menu looked interesting. (Visited 27 December 2012).“
