Brick Farm Tavern (Restaurant)

“Really nice restaurant with one of those old house style setups (seating on multiple floors and in multiple rooms). Outside set-up has a nice patio, a huge tented area, and a bunch more picnic tables out back. One of the best covid set-ups I've seen. Beer-wise, they usually have the last 2-3 Troon releases on + some other (mostly NJ) craft beer. They also have a really good selection of (again mostly NJ) cans and bottles at any given time. The food is excellent as well. Rotating menu highlighting local stuff. The outdoor bar area they added for covid is pretty cool as well. Sourland Mountain Distillery and Troon are on the same property, Troon has no tasting room, but I believe the distillery does tastings and drinks Thurs-Sun.“

Brick Farm Tavern (Restaurant)

“The unofficial taproom for Troon Brewery. Stopped by on our way back to NYC from Philly. Really cool brick farmhouse vibe with beautiful bar. Seemed like they were doing a set dinner tasting menu the Sunday we stopped by, but the bar was still open with a few Troons on draft, accompanied by Kane, Tonewood, Threes and others. Very cool modern farmhouse vibe. Would love to check out their food next time.“

“The taproom is basically the tavern at the corner. Brewery is just for growler fills. Tavern is gorgeous. Food looked incredible but pricey high end fare. Beers are top notch.“

“What a great "find" in Hopewell, NJ. Just opened a month ago in one of the farm buildings of the Brick Farm Tavern property. I visited this past Sunday pretty much by luck...just noticed their addition to the NJCB list of NJ breweries at about 1:50PM and that the last tour was at 3PM...checked the GPS...1 hour away...out the door at 2:05...arrived at 3PM! The website said to meet at the tavern (fabulous restaurant at the front of the property). Headed to the bar there and met up with some others that were waiting for the tour. Well it seems none of us actually "signed" up for the tour...lol...and the brewer was not waiting for us...but not to fear...he was contacted and arrived at 3:30...which allowed us to drink/sample his 4 beers...which are currently only available in the tavern. I got half pours of each beer ( no flights yet) and was able to carry most of the second two with me on the tour. They were a wheat pale ale, a saison, an English porter, and a great milkshake style DIPA. The beers were "really" great...especially the DIPA. I’m always impressed when brewers are making beers this good right out of the gate. The brewer/owner is Alex and he gave us the tour. Seems he rents a farm building from the property owners that own the tavern (amazing food and worth a visit alone!...but as a 1-2 punch...great craftbeer and great food...not to be missed!). So...the tour...building in the back of the property...they do growler fills...but not yet licensed for a taproom (another building on the property being rented for a distillery!)...10bbl system...all new equipment...spent a pretty penny on this very sweet setup. Alex has only brewed 7 batches so far...4 were on tap in the tavern...2 are fermenting for 6 mos and the last for a year. There are wooden barrels already filled and a stainless steel mixing tank. I believe Alex said some lambics were coming (hope I didn’t remember that incorrectly). When the warm weather comes in 2017...they are planning on setting up tables and chairs on the lawn and pouring beer from a very cool little cupola’ed (not a word...right? lol!) building on the lawn (the tavern will do that so Troon doesn’t have to have the taproom license for that). So here’s the deal...get here mighty quick before all of NJ and eastern PA finds out how great the beer is...you’ll look like a hero when Troon is mobbed next spring...lol! Thanks for all the attention Alex (and best of luck to your new endeavor).“
