“A pretty standard Pizza Luce ambiance with a few TVs and a decent sized bar area. Service is not particularly beer oriented. They have 16 taps the rotate rather frequently and have nice local selection. Pizza is solid and plenty of options for vegans. Prices are a touch high but are within reason. Not really a beer stop.“

“Smallish place in downtown Hopkins. Eclectic interior: dark wood pub meets industrial pipes/Edison bulbs. Racks of barrels of aging beer, next to an N64 and flat screens with ESPN. Tap count is up to 10+, though very heavy on Blonde and IPA, with a sour and dark thrown in. The beer quality is spotty, though never bad: good highs, meh lows. Value is solid: $10 for 5 5oz pours. The servers were pretty attentive when I was there, but it does seem like it could be pretty scattered when busy. Not many taprooms have tableside waitstaff, and with no assigned sections, it's just freewheeling, hoping you catch someone. Nice patio for ~20-30 people. Worth a stop if you're in the area.“

“This is a place that I have a large love/hate relationship with. The vibe is pretty fun. Inside the taproom is kind of dark, with a solid amount of seating, a popcorn machine, an N-64 and a good amount of events such as music every Friday. They do not get food trucks, but there are many restaurants near by that deliver. The beer is pretty good here, they seem to frequently change their options but at times lack variety. Here comes my biggest pet peeve and even deserves to be in its own paragraph: Their beer ordering system is atrocious. Both times I was there, I was not allowed to walk up to the bar and order a beer. Their ordering system works through ordering a beer from servers walking around with IPads. They then pick up the beer from the bartender and bring it to the consumer. This system NEVER runs smooth when I am there. At times, the servers do not come to us in a reasonable amount of time. The servers have also screwed up our order and it always just seems slow in getting the beer after ordering. The beer and environment are really solid, they just need to change their ordering sytem.“

“Stopped in to play trivia with friends one night. A cool hip pub vibe to the place with some TVs throughout the place. Service was good and the server knew the switched out taps off the top of her head. The 30ish taps were mainly things you could easily find but they had a few I was surprised to see. The food was quite good and the prices seemed in line with the area. A pleasant surprise which is worth the stop if you are in the immediate area. Perhaps for food before/after LTD.“

“Thanks to jackl for showing me this place! Smallish but open feeling taproom. Free popcorn. Reasonably priced beers and flights. Bartender was helpful and friendly. Beer quality, well ,everything was drinkable with no flaws but things needed to be dialed in. At least new ticks are frequent here. Overall a decent stop“

“US Liquor didnt have what I was looking for, so I stopped here in a fruitless attempt. Really no reason to have this on Rate beer. Selection is small with beers found easily elsewhere. They do have a lot in coolers, so they have that. High prices, depressing, worn out ambiance. I didnt talk to the staff, there was no need to. No interesting whiskey in the sub par selection.“

“Intimate tap room that shares the same space as the production brewery. Fairly low key spot - there was some nice couch seating and free popcorn, which must be nice for the locals. There were roughly 10 beers on tap in addition to bottles of their most recent sour creation. The beers were pretty decent. It seems like LTD cranks through one-offs, so tickers will do well here. Prices and service were good. Overall, LTD isn’t a leading light in the local scene, but it’s nice to have around for the occasional visit.“

“Visited with jackl. A bit out of the way. Nice interior, corner bar mixed with production brewery. Copper jacketed fermenters and matching copper top bar. Comfy couches. Whole place smelled like popcorn when we entered. 5 x 5 ounce beer flights. Decent enough beers. No food other than popcorn. Pleasant enough.“

“I’ll echo mikemn’s comments and say that this place isn’t that special. There’s a large bank of fridges filled with mostly macros in addition to a few shelves filled with singles that you’re likely to find at any other decent shop in the region. Prices were OK, service was non-existent. Overall, skip this place in favor of US Liquor.“

“Nice place but nothing spectacular. Cool loungey vibe. Laid back. Definitely trying to differentiate itself but its tough in the market right now. Will have to revisit when more sober. I enjoyed the beer and the place. Very friendly and good service.“

“Pizza Luce serves up average good-quality pizza and other Italian style food; far from the best available in Minneapolis - for that, look to Black Sheep, or Pizzeria Lola. The atmosphere here is similarly high-end chain as the other locations, but there is a very nice outdoor patio at this location. This store also maintains a healthy craft beer focus as most of the others do, so there is always a good beer to drink while pit-stopping on a bike ride.“

“Large pub-style place with a comfortable back patio. The beer selection’s relatively expansive, but regional power raters may struggle for new ticks. I had the choice of beers from Surly, Summit, Fulton etc in addition to a couple of macros. The food’s cheap and filling. I visited with a very large group of people, and the staff had no problems keeping our drinks full and bills separated. Overall, a pretty solid spot. I’d be excited about this place if I lived in Hopkins.“

“Pretty standard pizza joint. Unassuming interior, family friendly ambiance. The beer selection is OK, but nothing to write home about. In addition to some macros, you’ll find the usual suspects from Surly, Bent Paddle etc. I was excited to try the pizza (it’s well-regarded in the area), but left feeling a bit let down. The food’s average at best. If Pizza Luce really makes some of the best pizza Minnesota has to offer, then there’s a lot of room for improvement. Prices and service were great. Overall, an OK option if you’re hankering for some food and a beer. Not really worth a long detour.“

“This place has been open less than a year and is located in the heart of downtown Hopkins. It is conveniently located just around the corner from LTD brewing, which makes for a nice 1-2 punch for beer crawlers, and not far from Pizza Luce either. Also located near both the Lake Minnetonka LRT and Cedar Lake bike trails, and will be located near a Southwest light rail station when service begins in 2020. Food is very good, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pub 819 is a distinct, welcome departure from the shabby dive bars and restaurants that have dominated downtown Hopkins for years.“

“I’ve been here several times, and their beer list has improved substantially and it was pretty good to begin with. They have added a really nice outdoor patio, and it’s location on the Cedar Lake bike trail makes it a really convenient stop for bicyclists. The food has always been excellent; was here for breakfast on my most recent visit and the breakfast menu is excellent, and the food outstanding. Interior ambiance is good not great, which really would be the only non-stellar aspect to an otherwise excellent beer bar.“

“Not sure I’d go out of my way to go back here. The beer was nothing special and I really didn’t enjoy the expericence. Came in during an open mic night, it seemed that way anyway. Music was blaring bros with acustic guitars were screaming. Couldn’t hear anything. Bartender didn’t seem interested. Got a flight which he failed to tell me what was what and then walked off. Owner tried to come have a conversation with me which would have been nice except I couldn’t hear a word he was saying and he some how didn’t realize this over the horrible music.“

“This shop has the best whisk(e)y selection in Minnesota. Prices were all over the place. Beer selection was largely singles, but a small selection of random things, most of it good. Guys were very friendly, gave me a pour of whiskey. For beer, it is the best thing in Hopkins. For whiskey and scotch, it is one of the best places in Minnesota. Also, there was a pug roaming the store. Good times.“

“A brewery right in the downtown of a southwest Minneapolis suburb. A nice seating area with a mixture of tables and chairs and couches with a few tvs scattered around. Bartender was friendly and walked me through each of their beers. 6 beers were on tap during my visit and I partook in a flight. There is popcorn as well as assorted chips behind the counter. Prices were inline with other area breweries. A nice place but doesn’t differentiate its self from others in the area.“

“Stopped in on a Saturday night before a movie at Hopkins theater. The interior looks like repurposed industrial space. It is one large room, but a good set up with a lounge like area, tables, and the bar. No food, but they offer beer floats and soda ice cream float, which was a good idea I have not seen at other tap rooms. Service was friendly enough; about 8 beers on tap, many are the type you can find at brewpubs all over the country. Growlers available.“

“Cool place but a weird way to position the selection. You need to have amazing vision which I do not or be Lew Alcinder which I am also not. They do have a great selection of Whiskey’s and tequila. The beer buyer was cool and loved to talk beer. I will be returning for the tequila choices.“

“Open layout in kind of a utilitarian space that hasn’t been too developed, although the copper bar is nice. The staff - college girls home for summer - are learning. This is a family driven operation, which seems determined to deliver a quality product. The beers reflect this, but they probably won’t be earning any buzz-level scores. No growlers yet.“

“Nothing too special here - they’ve got the loyalty card, pretty normal prices, a big shelf of bombers, but the only real reason I sought this place out was this is the closest Fargo Brewing cans got to Minneapolis in June 2014.“

“Best place to get interesting craft beers in Hopkins. Bartenders are very cool and the pizza by the slice is super fresh. New bar manager is on top of changing the beers and will take requests. Highly recommend if you want a relaxed late night beer and a slice.“

“Decent bar, but not what I’d call a craft beer destination. 22 taps, but maybe 8 or 9 of what I’d call craft beer, and those are usually Summit, Leinenkugels, Surly, Brooklyn, etc.“

“It is an ok place, but certainly no reason to go as far as beer. Surly and Summit make up the craft selection.“
