“This is a very small brewery in a very small town. combine with a visit to White Winter Winery. This is a one-man operation by the brewer, in a small, tidy taproom. good north woods atmosphere. the owner said they were moving to another location in town soon. This is on the highway between Superior and Ashland and an easy stop.“

“Big place. Looks meh outside but very nice indoors. Visiting in January I didn't see what kind of outdoor facilities they had. Very friendly and knowledgeable person serving the samples. Everyone there was friendly. I was the only patron there, but that's not surpising since it's offseason and there was about 2 feet of snow on the ground. They said they get very busy during nice weather. About $1 per sample... large enough to get a good taste but not so large to fuck you up. You get to keep the branded tasting glass. There's a smaller version available, but then you don't get the glass. Meads, ciders, and spirits available and everything in stock was available for tasting. Well more than 10. Prices on bottles are a little steep but not unreasonable. If you're wealthier than I am you can take advantage of multi-bottle discounts. Overall quality was good to very good on all the selections. Overall, it's a hike to get here but highly recommended.“

“The owner was operating the register and his wife was handling the samples when I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon in the winter. Nearly their whole line is available for purchase, as well as other local products in their gift shop. I understand they have live music on some summer nights.“

“Back when I lived in Duluth, I would stop by here on the way home to grab what braggots they had available. I think they make very decent products. The folks were always friendly, there’s plenty of parking, the prices are good, and you can taste almost everything. It’s convenient to Route 2 as well. Definitely worth a stop if you’re passing by.“

“Great winery/meadery in northwestern Wisconsin. Stopped in here on Nov. 18, 2011. They have a shop where you can buy bottles of their stuff, and a tasting desk. I got to try 16 of their offerings, got to keep the logo tasting glass, and that all cost me $5. Terrific stop!“

“Nice staff on hand with a good selection of their own products, plus the hard to find JD’s Rootbeer from Viking Brewery in Dallas.“

“Hmm, I don’t know if things have changed since the last review 18 months ago, but I found this to be a very pleasant, cozy environment; they have a back patio where you can order full glasses of the meads ($5 I think) and the gift shop/tasting room is nicely done, homey without being too kitschy. My server was quite helpfull and I got to talk to one of the meadmakers for just a moment. Nice range of products; the sweet mead is absolutely stunning, and I bought a set of the glasses, perfect for strong ciders or meads. Strongly recommended.“

“It looks like an industrial metal shed, and that’s pretty much what it is. There’s nothing fancy to look at, but they do have just about their entire range up for sampling at the tasting bar. The lady at the counter on Sunday didn’t really know much about mead, but you might be able to luck out during the week when the brewers are there. Worth a stop if you’re heading to Ashland.“
