“I was in two minds if I should add this or not, but, frankly, with the lack of choices in town, it deserves to be here. Operating during the warmer part of the year (start of June, to mid-September depending on the weather) in the upper Masaryk square, by the plague column (google what those are :D), it's a trailer-bar/bistro, combining local craft coffee and pastries I guess from Kavárna a pražírna Da Salotto, wines etc. from Vinotéka Vinové and 3 MadCat beers on tap (Salotto has those too). A lovely, chill patio, with frequent concerts seemingly, quite popular with patrons. Busy, but friendly and efficient service. The MadCat 12° was on tap, Jiskra - formerly from the now-closed Jihlavský radniční právovárečný pivovar across the street, now brewed at MadCat, its sister brewery, and Uwe - a light grapefruit beer that was clean and tasty. The specials rotate I'd guess. Really a pleasant place to chill and get a tick or three, in between the few more attractive places in Jihlava. By the way, no toilet there, you get pointed to the one in the Kavárna Muzeum nearby, which is a MadCat place by itself (and you can get more ticks there).“

“Almost an accidental place tick / rate. The museum café in the northeast corner of the main, Masaryk square, is pretty much one big high-ceilinged / vaulted room, with bookcases, and an old school patio up front. Seems like a pleasant place to go for a cuppa in the mornings, but the reason it's here is that it's got the best choice of MadCat beers I've seen in town, including seasonals and rarities, in bottles and cans in the fridge. Only two taps, something pretty classic though, but the fridge, with the beers available to go, is a surefire way to get ticks from what's usually a pretty good brewery! Good service too. As probably the only good place in town to get beers from a craft brewery mere 17-18km from there, it's a should-visit by all means, though, of course, it's not as attractive as some other places in town.“

“In a quiet central side-street, as was said, you immediately run into the bar, but, of course, the place is bigger, as you walk down into the modern main area, basically enclosed back patio + open patio. Friendly, efficient bar lady, with a cute little helper - she must get a lot of exercise getting the beers downstairs and the glasses upstairs constantly as well. The selection is pretty much mostly taps, 5 of them - 4 WildCock + 1 Matuška this time, with, I think a Mazák and a Sibeeria waiting. Beers of solid quality and variation - 10°, 12°, raspberry sour and an IPA (which claims to be Imperial and it isn't), along with Matuška California. 3 ticks for me, which is great, though I haven't been to WildCock's other outlets in Prague recently. A good place, a should-visit if in Jihlava, even if you're going to Prague later.“

“A tiny beer shop down the street from BeerTime, one room, 3 fridges full of beer, one shelf as well, the till and that's pretty much it. Didn't note that much regional small brewery stuff here, but enough of the big Czech names, from the east and the west, and a solid selection of Polish stuff like Moon Lark, along with some Belgians on the shelf etc. Pretty sure it's great for locals. Found some ticks in there, and found that the prices were pretty much Prague fare or so, seen worse. If you're in Jihlava, give it a go, you will be able to find some fun and rare ticks!“

“Jihlava's best craft beer pub, one might call it the only proper craft beer pub in Jihlava, but hey, located in a square adjacent to the main square, the type of square that probably became a square by virtue of some older houses being bombed out in WW2 / demolished so now there's a plateau/parking there. It's a nice, modern place, with fridges with beer immediately seen by the entrance, before a stairway leads you to the main room, and the patio behind it. Young service, didn't test their English, friendly enough, and they seemed to have their hands full the entire time. 8 beers on tap - two from Ruprenz in nearby Uhřínovice, which I didn't see anywhere else, Pioneer Beer, Zlatá Kráva, Sibeeria, Thrills and the Falkon/Mazák collab, with a Zichovec and a Chroust waiting for something to kick - so some of the better and the best from all parts of the country! Oh, and Bernard 11°. The prices were very much fantastic - the Pioneer Beer Strategie was the most expensive at 69/0.4l, the rest not going over 68 for 0.5l. The Ruprenz beers being available for 38/23, 40/24. There is also a tasting set for 150kč. I mean, wow! Hats off to them - I'm sure it has to do with the local market and all, but that's a great way to bring more people to love craft beer. This is the place you *want* to go to if you're in town. Simple as that.“

“A basement brewpub (didn't see equipment, but doesn't mean it isn't there) hidden away in a side street just outside of the centermost center. Getting in, I probably lowered the average age of guests by 30 years, with some elderly locals having fun in the small first room. Loved the homely atmosphere, classic rock music playlist as well. Classic appearance, beiges and browns, and a bigger back room. 3 taps, 2 beers on them - their 11° světlé and a 10° tmavé. The, I guess, owner, behind the pipes was a pro, and I guess that a young lady, English and German speaking apparently, had her first day perhaps, so more English might be spoken soon. The 11° pale was nice, especially after all the Ježeks. Keeping on the maltier, yeastier side, with some hop aromatics, without much bitterness, it was clean, tasty and drinkable. The 10° black was solid, drier than most of its kind, but if I had the time, I'd have stuck to the 11° - and it's all for a very acceptable 39kč! In my book, it's a must-visit, a quintessential Czech local small city brewpub that doesn't try to be anything else than the friendly neighborhood pub that it is. How to get here: A nice walk down the Dvořákova street from the big brewery, then, at the big intersection (with Benešova, Hradební and Žižkova), cross the street, but don't go down Hradební, but down the parking area, stick to the left of it when it turns, and enter the "hidden" Fibichova, just walking down till you reach no. 21 - don't be scared by the work on the facade or lack of sign, if it's open, go in. :) If you're coming from the center, take Benešova to aforementioned intersection, cross the street and follow the same rules. :)“

“Jihlava's oldest and main brewery, with its cute Ježek brand, located quite centrally, kinda more of just one of the Lobkowicz hydra's heads, but still with own identity. The main building looks quite nice from the outside, manor-like, with a tiny brewery store in its west wing (fully laden by crates, some glassware seemed to be the only souvenir-related thing, one fridge with very low variety in it, low to no English spoken). The east wing, however, and the park surrounding it make up for the brewery restaurant, a cute affair really with some nice details, browns inside, 7-8 taps and okay prices. 169 for a hefty portion of veal goulash (average on its own, but tasty enough, and with some nice details). Fairly cheapish beer prices, 35/24 (0.5l/0.3l) 10° on tank, 37/26 for 11° on tank, 39/27 for the 11° kvasnicové, 43/30 for Dukla 12°, 41/28 for Lobkowicz Granat and some fruit and low/no alco choices too. Black Hill cider for 42. The service was, well, typically Czech, professional, quick, bit distant, did their jobs well. The large, shady patio would've perhaps been a better choice. All in all, it's a typical regional/macro place, worth visiting despite the (filtered) beers being extremely similar to each other, with the 12° being the most boring choice, and the 11° dumbed down compared to what I remember from way back when. If you're with a group, it's a solid choice, and if you're traveling by bus, the best place to have a last beer or two before catching it. How to get here: It's almost across the street uphill from the main bus station. If you arrived by train and want to make this the first stop, you can take the B line directly to Vysoká škola polytechnická or 17. listopadu, the closest trolleybus stations, and walk from them. It's a long route that circles the east part of the town and goes through the center to get there, however. Alternatively and likely more quickly, take the A to Dům kultury and switch to B, C or 8 going in the other direction for one station (Vysoká...), and walk on.“

“A grand looking place from the street. End down a corridor with a vaulted ceiling into the bar and lounge. Beer terrace to the back. 8 beers on tap on our visit. No English spoken. Service ok.“

“You enter straight into the bar. Follow the tiled floor down to the main lounge with vaulted ceiling. Beyond is a modern conservatory and beer garden. There is also an entrance from the town walls path to the beer garden. 4 beers on tap. 2 or 3 from Wildcock brewery, plus guests. About a dozen cans / bottles in the fridge. The server soke god English and spent some time talking to us.“

“Located on a side street between residential properties. A few tables by the bar, a back room and rear beer garden with barbeque. 2 beers in draft and bottles available in gift boxes. Again trad Czech style pilsners with little taste. Little English spoken.“

“Located just outside the town walls. Set in a mansion house with lots of tables outside and a large grassed area. Inside lots of dark wood. 4 beers available from their own brewery, 1 guest and some radler, alcofree options. Service was good. Very little English spoken. Food was good. The beers were all Czech lager style with not a lot to them.“

“Brewery restaurant on the premises, 5 minutes walk from the bus station. Has 7 beers on tap including the rare 11 kvasnicové (yeast beer). Food is in the average and menu is translated both in german and english. They set up a huge terrasse in front that can accomodate up to 200 persons. The "souvenirs" shop is open Monday-Friday 8h to 15h30 and closed on weekends.“
