“Really alternative beer pub. I guess bottle offers varies. Not very impressive at my visit though. Limited number of taps. Two Lindemans, Urquell, Оболонь. I had the ukrainian just for relax. Julebox played Dire Straits and old finnish ballads. Interesting having been here.“

“Visited few times in 2022 and 2023. Only Hiisi stuff in the taps when I visited. They don't brew at the premises, so the bottleshop was bit lackluster. Food was quite average. The best thing about the place are the rarer barrel aged Hiisi beers available.“

“The old railway station building was built 1896-97 according to the style of national romanticist wooden architecture, by the architect Bruno Granholm at the Finnish Railway Institute. A new station opened 2002. Now the beer bar Musta Kynnys is situated inside the former station building. Quite roomy. Many Hiisi-bottles in the fridges. Some Puhaste and some others. Not sure about how many taps, as they were hidden lower than bardesk. Good place to start.“

“"The Old English Pub" on the front, seating for hundred on the pavement, very narrow door into the pub. Mahogany bull blood leather chairs and bar stools. 24 TAPS on desk. Eighties rock played, modestlly. Of course I found an english new to me. There were many english specialties. Maybe Rune could've got drunk here, hehehe. Kippis :))) And re-visit august 2023, then I got the house beer brewed by Hiisi.“

“If one stays in one of Scandic Hotels, this place is close. Also Explosive and Harry's (Old English Pub) are close. Very close. Poison inhalating people are sitting outside in the afternoon sun. Teerenpeli beers and a couple of ciders on twelve taps. I had a weizen and hot tapas. Alright place.“

“K-Citymarket is K-chain's hypermarket size grocery hall. Great car parking. Approximately 200 different beers available at my visit, which is great enough. Alko also has a department here, which i visited august 2023 and found ten news. Veldig bra. Hyvää“

“Located about 4 kms to the south from Jyväskylä city. Great parking. Approximately 180 beers and fifty ciders. Special broad shelf-section for "viking malts" 34€ 25kgs, where also microbrewery 1000 Lakes is well represented. Nice pitstop.“

“Interesting ambiance in this place. The old railway station building maybe? Airy, even a bit beer hall style interior. Beer selection is not very wide and the worth of checking only because the place is near railway and bus stations.
During my second visit (June 2018) especially bottle selection was quite nice. They had even some Haandryggeriet on bottle. Upped points.“

“This review is relative to Finnish pubs, not globally. In comparison with Jyväskylä pubs I find that Harry's Jyväskylä is one of the best pubs in Jyväskylä for a beer enthusiast. The selection changes quite often, there are often specialities and the selection has been chosen with care, i.e. they have tap beers that have "something special in them", so they've usually put thought into the selection. The serving of the beer is always done in clean glasses that have been chosen to fit the beer style. This enables one to enjoy the beer to the fullest. The temperature of the beer is often also quite okay. Sometimes I've got a bit too cold stout, but it doesn't take too long to wait for it to warm a little bit. The bartenders are friendly and often knowledgeable about the beers that they sell and can describe them as well as draw comparisons with something that the customer might have drank before. At least some of the bartenders are also beer enthusiasts themselves. The interior design is warm and very English-style. Comfortable. The interior air is clean and obviously there's no smell of tobacco. The prices are very reasonable. 7-10 euros for a properly served, medium-priced specialty beer is much more reasonable than 5 euros for a bulk lager (which is what one might have to pay in some bars). Central location in the centre. So one of the best pubs for beer enthusiasts in Jyväskylä. Possibly one of the best pubs in Finland as well. Highly recommended. “

“New "rising" craft beer bar in Jyväskylä. Located in the city centre. This is quite weird place. Opens early and place and customers look like people from typical dive bar who have had few too many (in their lifetime). But same time good beer selection - not so much on tap but some goodies on tap. Staff was very helpful and seems to know about their beers too. Worth of checking when you are in town.“

“By far the best place to go for a good beer in Jyväskylä. Excellent selection, too bad they aren’t all on sale simultaneously since there’s limited storage space behind the counter. Nice atmosphere and friendly bartenders. Worth a visit.“
