“Visited on November 20th, at night. Located in the downtown core, between Princess Street and the main arena. Definitely smaller than the West location, with similar tap list but with some extras and beers to go, I've never seen this in any bar I've been to. They have food, but I already eaten at the West location. And since it was a saturday night and just after the city's Santa Claus parade, it was crowded, however the service was fast for this large crowde. I would go back, but at a different time!“

“Visited on November 20th, 2023, in the afternoon. A converted garage on Princess, just west of downtown and it has some parking space. There is a large mural of a flamingo (their symbol) on the parking side, a large patio in front. Inside is very eclectic, graffiti ish like art. It was quite cold inside. The tap selection is a bit of different styles. I had an IPA (good), a bitter (ok) and a dunkel (good). The service was nice. It's an ok place!“

“2023-09-20. Stopped in for some cans to go in the afternoon. Server was friendly and helpful in picking out which beers to get. Nice space, decent sized patio out front and seating indoors. Decor has more of a restaurant / cafe vibe for me but that's fine. Decent selection of beers in different styles. Beers have been a bit of a mixed bag so far but I have not tried all of them yet. Worth a visit.“

“Some half decent beer, a bit rough but quaffable selection. Huge outdoor area near the water makes it worth a stop.“

“2022-07-27. Patio is packed full on a Weds. Nice patio, live band was decent. Inside taproom was empty but looked nice. We we stilled aren’t doing indoor stuff right now so we opted to grab a few cans of beer and Awkwa - their fancy hopped water - to go. Beers are generally decent, leaning towards the accessible end of things.“

“2023-09-20. Friendly bartender chatted a bit about the beers. Trivia was fun. Music was great but a bit loud for my old man tolerances. Very busy, I got the last seats at the bar. Large patio, interesting graffiti / 80s style wall art. 8 Beers, three ciders, and a couple of seltzers on draft in a good mix of styles. Beers were for the most part slightly better this visit than on the previous visit. 4/8/12/15 - 3.8 2022-07-27. Not a particularly detailed impression unfortunately - We came by with the intention of staying for a drink but the good sized patio and indoors are completely packed for trivia night so we opted to grab some bottles to go instead. Server at the cash seemed a bit indifferent but perhaps that was just me. Six or so bottles available. We grabbed four as the flavours of the other two didn’t appeal to me today. Cool graffiti art inside and out. I’d come back. Beers we tried were decent, but don’t quite live up to their potential.“

“Visited a few times in 2020. Typical dark taproom with bar seating and some tables. Big patio area when weather permits with Hawaiian theme. Flights at 10$ for 4 4 ounces. Just some snack. Worth a stop if in Kingston.“

“Top notch brewery in kingston, offering a range of beers, all well made. Location is north of downtown core, parking can be a challenge. 3 x 6 ounces for 8$. Food is normally available, upscale menu but temporarily unavailable during the pendemic.“

“A great newcomer to the Kingston area, this breweries offers solid offerings, especially IPAs, imperial stouts, sours,... 6 ounce pours are 3 to 3,50$ . Good service. Occasionally will have food truck or vendor.“

“A cool place on Princess street, a bit north of the downtown core of Kingston. Plenty of parking and seating, big patio during summer. Samples are about 3$ each 4 ounce sample. Beers are unfortunately not that great, decent but nothing spécial.“

“Visited on February 21 in 2016 and on September 21 in 2020, both for souper. Located in downtown Kingston, a few 100 metres from Stone City and city hall. Very unassuming restaurant, small with a heated patio on both sides of the sidewalk, very handicap friendly, a couple of tv's. The main draw is the burgers, mostly build your own with some original and some over the top creations, but the quality is there. They also have hot dogs, salads and other kinds of sandwich. The beer selection is quite small, but it's mostly craft with some locals. Definitely the best burger place in the city!“

“Visited on September 20, 2020 in the evening.Located in a commercial sector in western Kingston, just a few steps from Riverhead Brewing Company. Now I can't compare with the downtown location because I've never been there yet. It's in a building shared with other restaurants, it has a heated patio, there a dining room and bar section, both of them are medium size. The food menu is quite varied, not really pub fair, I had the chicken club with smoked bacon, tomato relish and basil aioli. The beer selection is not that bad, half is craft and some of them are local, I had Matron Janky IPA from Bloomfield (PEC). Very friendly staff. If the ideal of going downtown to eat and drink is not your thing!“

“Visited on September 20, 2020, in early afternoon. Located in a industrial sector west of downtown Kingston, it's a good size brewery, plenty of parking. Very nice looking patio in front, with an extension because of COVID-19, fake grass with very comfortable chairs. Inside you got the store in front, follow by a large pub with a four sided bar. Very small tap selection, five fairly drinkable brews in all with some cans, including two ciders. They do have food, a different plate each day and they also have wine and hard stuff. The beers are ok, but it is a fun place to drink!“

“Visited on September 18th, 2020, in the evening. Located in Cataraqui West (north western part of Kingston) in a commercial/industrial sector, in a building with other business of Gardiners Road. The outside is generic, obviously because they are not alone in the building, the inside is simple with a river theme. The place is divided in two, the entrance leads you to the first part that is the shop with beers and pizza to go. The other half is the dining room, fairly small, but good physical distancing. Pretty good tap selection, about three IPA's in there but a good variety and fairly decent. The food menu is almost just pizzas, about a half dozen kinds, they did have sausages for the Oktoberfest. It's a surprisingly good place and one of the best pizza I've had!“

“Solid hotel located downtown closed to the water. The hotelbar is - for a hotel bar - well sorted and there are 6 different beers on tap. Two of them where local brews, 2 craft and 2 macros. Expert knowledge by the bar staff. Nice to have a look, if you stay there.“

“Brewpub located downtown and just 2 minutes from waterfront. Looks like a irish pub, but with a good selection of local and Canadian craft beers. No flight, but small sizes possible. Food was ok, but the beers was the better choice. Crowded on a weekdays evening, so staff was smart and pleassant, but also very busy.“

“Kingston Brewing Company is in the downtown of Kingston. This is a brewpub: it looks more like an old Irish pub than modern taproom. It was Sunday but St. Patricks Day so place was full of people. 28 taps with lots of craft and some own beers. The ones I had were average at most.“

“2018 Update. Tap list here is much improved in recent months with a good selection of local and Ontario wide beers. Decor and atmosphere is much the same, to it's benefit. /// 2013-05-01. You kind of have to stop here if you are in town but I find the beers are a bit less than stellar. The food has always been good. They are now doing "chef’s specials" that are a bit more upscale than the usual pub grub. The braised beef and mashed potatoes I had were superlatively good. Their two biggest sellers are now being contract brewed off-site apparently. Definitely still worth a visit while in town. 4/8/8/9/na/14 - 68 ///// RBSG 05. Food was awesome, burgers. Waitress (Nicole) was especially friendly and accommodating when I said I was driving so would only be sampling a little bit. Even loaned me a pen when mine conked out. This place grows on me with each visit. -------------------“

“This place has been around for 20 plus years and benefits from an excellent location between Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Syracuse, and New York. It is right near the water in an ivy league college town and the people by nature are very friendly. The bar itself is small, however there is a very large deck and large tables and lots of regulars. This place is open to 2 a.m. daily regardless. You know you can come here and get a drink and its not dark and you can talk to someone. It is very relaxing. Average age is about 40, with a large percentage of mid-20s. Lots of staff, always busy but you never wait for a drink. Staff did not know much about the beers.People were here for hours. Beer is very reasonable, and there are 2 casks and 12 taps, most of them guest taps. Update 12 years later: This place has not changed a bit physically in 12 years. Home beers not so great. Decent guest taps for out of town bar. Very good service. Need to consider samplers when not (if ever) busy. “

“Been twice now, both stopping in between lunch and dinner. Nice patio out front, lots of parking on the streets nearby, and a small number of tables inside with decent bar stools. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, second time around they had 9 taps with 4 regulars and 5 special releases; even better all of them were available to go in bottles and growlers. Flights of 3 (of anything) were 6 or 8 dollars and food was delicious. Worth stopping into for sure.“

“In central Kingston, probably sits some 50 people plus some 10 outside. I went twice at around 8pm, crowded both days. Very noisy to the point of being unpleasant. They had 2 good beers: Unchartered IPA and Milkshake, I tasted others but they were bland and boring. They were out of the stout. I had a plate of bland cheeses and brecciaola with sauces ok. Best craft place in Kingston but far below Canada standards!“

“2023-09-20. Small space with a cute small patio out front is too sunny for me tonight. 9 beers and a guest cider on tonight. Beers are a bit variable but decent. Service was okay. 3/7/11/-/-/14 3.5 2016-12-08. as Stone City Brewing Co. Smaller than I expected, it was fairly quiet before 5:00 and then filled up quickly on a Thursday night. Chicken and waffles with sweet hoisin sauce was tasty snack. Beers available by the six oz pour so you can try before committing. Decent number of their own beers and a handful of guests. Fewer taps than I expected. Chalkboard has decent selection of ciders as well, I assume by the bottle? Bottles are a bit pricey but I guess they are meant for sharing. Server was friendly and made some informed recommendations. Nice spot, beers are solid. Mix of tables, bar stools and a high top, bar stools could use backs like the chairs. Overall a nice spot. Would definitely come often if I lived in town. 3/8/12/-/-16/3.9“

“Beer shop with an odd set-up. Only a part fo their stock is on display in the shop but they have a tablet where you can search through a database showing their entire stock. They did have some more interesting stuff but many products were only available in six packs. I only wanted singles and the available range for those was rather narrow, and seemed to be limited to the more pedestrian beers. Prices were good. Guess that there is no better beer shop in town but this place did not inspire me to want to make a repeat visit.“

“We visited on a Wednesday evening. Busy pub, close-ish to the waterfront. Was easy enough to get served at the bar. Tap selection was not terribly interesting, tried the Nicklebrook Pumpkin Porter though and liked it a lot. Prices seemed OK. Place was a bit dingy and noisy but I have definitely seen worse.“

“Modern brewpub in downtown Kingston. Quite busy on the Wednesday evening that we visited but atmosphere was quite relaxed. Service was friendly. I ordered a flight of three of their own beers. The Uncharted IPA and Rathlin Gael were both rather good. Think there were only five taps on offer in total. Didn’t try any food. Prices seemed OK. We only tried one other bar in town but this is probably the best that the area has to offer.“

“Went there on February 21, 2016, in late afternoon after the hockey game, which is across the street. Fairly size LCBO for its downtown location, I chose that one because there was a better selection in Kingston. There is two beer section, most of the macro, fruity beer and ciders at the far end of the check out aisles, the rest at the far end of the store (of course). The selection could have been better, given where they are in the city, but it was not that bad. The import selection was very poor, but I was looking mostly Ontario beers, so I’m reasonably satisfied!“

“Visited on February 20, 2016, in early afternoon (and back the following evening). Located in the downtown commercial part of Princess Street, in a large multipurpose building. Although small for a brewpub (a bit like Bellwoods in TO), it has a very modern urban feel to it, as opposed to KBC and most pubs in Kingston. Fairly simple arrangement inside, with the brew shop in front as you enter and the second door for the pub on your left. Despite its size, its very spacious, medium small bar, about a dozen tables, typical urban decor. One decor I like was the taps, together they form a map of the city. The service was good, friendly and fairly knowledgeable. The beers themselves are far more interesting and adventurous the the ones from KBC, especially the sour IPA with Sawdust. I did not partake in any food, mostly because I just ate, maybe next time. The crowd is of mixed age, but but more hip then the older places. As far as I’m concerned, Stone City is a breath of fresh for the Kingston beer scene!“

“The Kingston Brewing Company is housed in an old fashioned frontier style building close to the harbour front and the old railway station. The decor is very busy with the walls covered in pictures, bar mats and trays. The Adnams poster just like the one we have in our kitchen made me feel at home and the huge papier mâché polar bear wearing a bib made me smile. There were no flights or samplers but we were offered a taste of everything before committing to a full pint and the service was friendly. (Visited 7 November 2012).“

“The Old Beer Store has come a long way in the last 35 years. Well, the have craft beer and sell singles now. Very large selection and they find them and bring them out in good order. I was able to run the 4 blocks from Stone City Ales select and buy 5 different cans of beer and make it back before my wife and friends finished their lunch and drinks. Success!“

“I stopped in here for a fast pint after my traveling companions got lost in the crowd on the street. Only a few stools at the bar, but most were sitting at tables at lunch time. Small selections of beers were seen. No beer listing. I had a nice stout. My $20 rang up as $24 their money. I downed my stout quickly and went looking for my friends so we could make the next ferry back to the states.“

“We stopped in for lunch and a flight of beers last Friday. We had some enjoyable beers from the small selection they offered. The Deez nuts were great with the beer. My only complaint is their poor excuse for a pulled pork sandwich. The menu has a price if you want 1 or 2. 2 pulled pork sandwiches!! How could I ever eat so much! Turns out saying they are small is a understatement! 2 bites per sandwich! I looked at my friend who got a grilled cheese sandwich and it was so big she could not finish it. I paid so much more for so less sandwich. (Yes, there was a small amount of meat in mine... I think)“

“Really the only thing of its kind in Kingston, Ontario. Pretty adequate place, and now that I’ve finally tried it I’m inclined to drop by more often at least for curiosity value. I walked by many times, often the place was packed to the gills with students and other assorted millennials. A little bit noisy and over crowded! I went in on a relaxed sunny Monday this week, and tried pretty much all the samples I could. At three dollars plus tax and tip, five ounces costs what a half pint used to cost in this province! The tab adds up very quickly, and the growlers aren’t exactly cheap at $14 +5 dollars deposit, but the beers are pretty decent. Most of what they sell leans towards a bitter finish hard hop edge. Looking forward to see what this young brew pub does as it matures!“

Modern and industrial ambiance. 8 beers on draught including one guest tap to sample in pint or flight (3).
