76 /100 Hofbräu am Steinertor (Restaurant) SÜDTIROLERPLATZ 2 Since some years the city of Krems in the middle of the wine-region Wachau own a bavarian Hofbräu. It is connected to the renewed shopping center Steinertor what is the name of a famous medevial gate nearby.
You get a fine selection of HB beers and bavarian food. The staff is extremely freinedly, but sometimes it takes long till the food arrives at the table. Most dishes are some kind of fatty meat, but it also offers fish and one vegetarian dish.
During the week there's a cheeper day.menu.
I think that it is planned, but i miss a special craft beer |
54 /100 Hofbräu am Steinertor (Restaurant) SÜDTIROLERPLATZ 2 We came here on 4th of July 2020. A Bavarian beer garden in the center of Krems. All the Hofbräu beers are served here also saisonals and also in Mass glasses. Service was a bit overwhelmed when were here on a Saturday afternoon. |
88 /100 Schmids (Restaurant) SCHMIDGASSE 8 We came here on 4th of July 2020. Did not expect to find such a great beer bar/restaurant in the Wachauer wine region. Nice patio in the old town of Krems, great beer focused interior with a beer cellar. Super nice service and most important a very good beer selection: 7 beers on tap. Zwettler Saphir and ales from Austrian microbreweries. Very good bottle selection (70). Highly recommendable! |
64 /100 Piano das Bierlokal (Bar) STEINER LANDSTRASSE 21 Most seating is out doors. Service was average. Four taps and over 20 bottles on display. I did not have food. Pricing seems reasonable. The bottle selection is not bad and is not too far from the Danube. |
68 /100 Piano das Bierlokal (Bar) STEINER LANDSTRASSE 21 A limited number of taps but a great selection of beers of several different styles in bottles. The service is good and the food tasty excellent place to sample the local cuisine. |
