“Family-run establishment that is open only limited time through the year. So, what you get: house-type cousine, friendly service & 3 house made beers - helles, weiss & milk stout. The later is being by far the best option here.“

“A Heurigen in Austria is a place were typically self-produced Wine or Most is served. So it was rather surprising for me to find one which includes a brewery. This one is next to the church in Lichtenwörth (which itself is close to Wiener Neustadt). The restaurant and brewery is located (as is typical) on the property where the family lives. Since it was nice weather I sat outside in the nice and inviting yard. The beer selection is not extensive, but it includes a Helles (Märzen), Weizen and (rather untypical for austria) a Milk Stout. The Weizen was quite refreshing, the Milk Stout was a bit on the sweet side, but overall both were quite good. Apparently they also do seasonals, but none were available when I was there. They also offer take away, which I did with a bottle of Märzen. Food looked tasty, but I did not eat. As is typical for Heurigen, this place is also only open for 1-2 weeks at a time. So make sure to check the homepage for details.. Overall recommended.“
