“3rd stop in a short brewery tour. Bigger place with a deck that allowed dogs and plenty of parking. Industrial type setting. Good amount of good beers on tap.“

“Solid brewery, capable of nailing styles. Perhaps a little aggressive in hopping, one hazy was a hop burn experience. Nonetheless, they excel at hoppy beers. 7 or 8 dollars for most beers. 5 dollar half pours. Their own food truck out back. A worthy stop for sure.“

“This beer distributor appears to be a Wawa location that got left behind in their expansion to fuel and food supremacy in the Philly area. There are several others in the area that share in that same history. Somebody has to take over these buildings, and why not another beer store! Except this particular store forgot the good selection and the presence of an actual employee to help and ring up customers. This store has the usual suspects, including local micros. There is absolutely no reason to stop by this place, unless it's on your way and you really need some booze.“

“Excellent shop with a great selection and service. It's a real bummer we're still in the middle of a pandemic, because they have a great looking bar area in the corner of this shop, but it's closed. They have several aisles of single bottles available, along with sixers. Prices seemed slightly higher than a lot of the usual places I shop. For example, a four-pack of DFH Midas Touch was $1 more than places closer to home for me. I know that's not a lot, and I'm not complaining. I'm just pointing it out for pointing-out sakes. It's a very clean and well maintained store. You certainly have the opportunity to talk shop with the gentlemen behind the counter. They seems to know their trade and the latest news. I'll be back when in the area.“

“This place is off the main road and toward the right in a strip mall in this complex. Under rated. Huge selection of beer. Bar in the back left. Nice atmosphere. Service was great. Pricing is reasonable.“

“I came here on 15.3.2016. Seems to be a local chain. Have not seen a brewhouse, looks more like a restaurant contracting the beer from somewhere else, but I might be wrong. Had the session IPA, which was not good at all. Food was mediocre at the best. Whole place is very commercial, did not feel any beer connection.“

“Stopped here with my brother-in-law. 24 taps of craft beers, as well as hundreds of bottles for sale. They are very generous with tastings, and also have a great selection of beers on tap. These selections rotate often. Knowledgeable and attentive staff. Huge selection of singles and sixes for sale. The only drawback is that the prices are a bit high, but that is due to the archaic PA beer laws.“

“I haven’t been to this place in years (used to live in Malvern). First off, the place has a solid atmosphere, especially in the summer. Nice outdoor seating, nice big bar both indoor and outdoor. The service at the bar was solid. The bartender was amusing, friendly, poured the beers quickly and appropriately. Outside, the service left something to be desired. There was four of us in the party. My wife and I are beer drinkers. One of our friends was drinking Martini’s for happy hour and one other friend doesn’t drink. The waitress was fairly unfriendly the entire night. My wife asked for an ABV on beer because it wasn’t listed on the menu like the other beers. This girl copped an attitude. She basically ignored the non-beer drinkers all night. Blended score is pulled up by the bartender. Selection was good. They had a pale ale, IPA, Wit, stout, saison, light lager, and a few others. We forgot the take home barrel aged sour. We have to stop back for that. Food was OK. Decent wings, flatbread was fine, chips and salsa were iffy, lettuce wraps were pretty good. Happy hour prices were very good.“

“Large place, lots of wood and sports TVs. Good bottle list, nice to see aged stuff. Music too loud for me, I’d rather have a conversation.“

“Another suburb Philly place really worth the detour. Wonderful place to hang-out during the summer with a great outdoor patio. Large interior, clean upscale pub type of feeling. We didn’t eat there but I hear the food is decent pub food. Solid tap selection (6 to 8 I think) an the quality was definitely above average. But this place gets even better with their 750ml house beers, a bit expensive, most are pretty experimental crazy stuff that can be hit or miss but mostly hits. A Family friendly pub that will satisfy the most avid beer geek of all beer hunters. I wanna go back there. Win.“

“Compared to some of the other Wegmans beer sections I have been to this one quite comparable. Lots of beers from the big boys, both micro and macro, as well as a decent selection of the more widely distributed european offerings. Atmosphere is what you would expect from a super market bottle shop. Quality is pretty good but nothing to really write home about. Service is just like the others, you may get asked if you need help, you may not. Selection is just like all of the other Wegmans I have been to, nothing too rare but lots of solid craft offerings for a quick pickup. Overall a decent place to stop if you are in the area, just don’t expect some super rare bottles to just be sitting on the shelves.“

“Ambiance is interesting where as the inside is pretty standard, but the outside deck bar is freaking awesome in the summer time. Service was pretty good considering we completetly flooded the bar with people. Selectionw as decent, probably about 12 of there beers on tap, several which were pretty solid. Food was very very good, ans was priced, with the beer, farily. Overall, worth the stop if you;re in the area.“

Wegmans - Malvern (Grocery Store)

“Have visited this branch of Wegmans a few times, most recently 27/05/12 to stock up on some bottles for a memorial day BBQ. Not been to any other Wegmans so can’t compare. Seemed a decent selection from both coasts, but no real rare cows. Beers well arranged, prices decent, never had to queue for more than a minute or so.“

“My review is exactly the same as watson’s except you could argue that the bar looks more like something you’d find at a Hilton Garden Inn. They had about 75% of the selection of the downingtown location. They seemed to to pay less attention to bottle rotation as I found a port brewing seasonal from last winter that was getting kinda dusty.“

“Bus stop for RBSG 2011. Very empty, spacious location. Circular bar in the center- a little odd. Some nice patio/deck seating outside. You can order tasting flights. House beers were on the low end side- mostly soapy and astringent with other off flavors. Rather unimpressive. Food is available but we were here a little early for lunch.“

“This is the strongest Wegmans for making your own six packs in my travels. I actually picked up two bottles of Delirium Noel in my 6 for $12 pack. Otherwise, same as every other Wegmans take out store.“

“Not as good as the downingtown location for bottle and six pack selection. The malvern location seems to focus on more options to craft yer own six pack but the offerings are boring. They do have a bar here which downingtown does not...the bar feels a bit like an airport bar. Ill be going to wegmans in downingtown from now on if I go to wegmans at all.“

“Several visits. Austere interior, typically pretty dead, spacious room and hanging TVs leave it feeling more like a spaceship than a bar.. Samplers have ranged from poor to decent, often 2-3 weak beers per entry, and often very few seasonals. The wraps were excellent though, and prices are pretty considerate. Service quick and polite.“

“Another stop on the RBSG 2011 bus trip. This place was great. They had an excellent tap list, and it happened to be a bottle release day. Service was pretty swift for having to deal with a bus load of people all at once. We sat at the bar and ordered a few things to eat and a few samplers. Prices were incredibly good. Certainly worth visiting.“

“I was not feeling this place at all. They had 6 typical beers on tap and 2-3 seasonals and I wasn’t knocked out by any of them. The bar area is real close to the door. They also have an outdoor area as well as some sort of basement bar, but when the beer is this mediocre why does it matter?“

Wegmans - Malvern (Grocery Store)

“Visited on this store’s grand opening - July, 18th, 2010. Good variety of beer - locals, macros and well-known crafts. Nothing exotic and prices were decent. If you look hard, there are some bargains but nothing that knocks your socks off. Mixed-six option is with a very odd and restricted selection of beers. Including the tax is pricing is helpful, just as is the no tipping in the pub. I never quite figured out the rhyme or reason of organization in the store, but the 90-degree temperatures outside gave me more patience? Help was available, although I doubt most BA’s would find it useful. There are about 8 on-tap offerings in the pub. Growler fills are priced at $10, not awful but again with a restricted selection. Food was good and reasonably priced in the pub which was attractive and comfortable. All-in-all a nice addition to the area but nothing that will threaten places like Pinocchio’s or Capone’s which feature exceptional selections and staff who are engaging and knowledgeable.“

“If McKenzie weren’t a brewery, I’d probably really like it. The inside is nice, but not the type of atmosphere I want at a brewery. They focus a lot on other alcoholic drinks which doesn’t make any sense to me since they make beer! The house beers are okay but their seasonals are pretty decent. I’ve been there a few times and none of the servers seem to know anything about beer. The food is good, but a little overpriced. The crowd isn’t a beer crowd.“

“This place is a great neighborhood bar where you never feel like a stranger. The food is top notch, wings are awesome. The beer menu like many in the philly area is ever changing and the selection of both tap and bottle is huge.“

“The Flying Pig Saloon is a local corner bar in Malvern, PA. I like the ambiance of this place. It’s a little dark and fairly cozy, and they have flying pig decor around the bar. The food is pretty much standard pub food. They have a pretty good selection of beers on tap (they do a good job of rotating very good seasonal beers) as well as a good bottle selection.“

“The place itself is kinda a mix. I like the high ceilings and lighting around the bar, but the dining area is real cheap and mid-90s sports bar-ish. I do like that you can see the kitchen. Ive read complaints about the service but ours was pretty good. The waitress didnt seem to know what she was doing, but everything arrived correct, on time, and hot. The standard brews were pretty boring, but the seasonals were delicious. The food was also very tasty and not too expensive. The beers and food make it worth the trip.“

“Stopped here for mid-afternoon lunch on 10/19 on the way home. Great service, really tasty food for both of us. Place was packed and obviously a very popular place. The beers were pretty good although they weren’t what I’d hoped for. Most of my expectations for McKenzie was what was stuck in my head from a few years ago when all the great bottles of Belgians were out there. While the offerings were solid and I enjoyed them, they weren’t much different than many brewpub offerings. The Dubbel and Saison stood out at least as a deviation from the standard fare. I would definitely go back here, however, and I thought the food was terrific.“

“Small selection, to me. I am not a fan of their standard beers, and usually only go to try new brews. Parking can be very hard as they do not have enough spaces. Smoking sucks. All of the food I have had has been tasty, well prepared, and presented hot. Service is average. As with many places I feel like they are always around when you don’t need anything, and MIA when you do. Nice TVs.“

“This is lively place which is big and open with a very large oval shaped bar. Even tho its busy, there is lots of room for your own space. A friendly atmosphere and a family affair. Reminds me quite a bit of Marzoni’s in Allison Park near Pittsburgh. Lots of separate dining booths. Look is new, quite clean and almost sterile. Big outside dining area on a deck. Lots of really good looking eye candy. My bartender was very attentive. The place is busy yet not crowded. Decent size samples for an affordable price. Food fare is hot but just above average.“

“Stopped in here for a bite to eat and to see what they had on in terms of seasonals. I ordered a burger and it was very solid. Had three seasonal beers on. A belgian, biere de garde and spiced up winter style hefe. Beer was solid and food was well done. I sat in the dining room and the atmosphere was pretty standard brewpub. Hopefully they get good brewers in here and keep things interesting. Worth a stop if you are in the area.“

“Similar in appearance to the Chadds Ford location. Beer ranges from average to outstanding, depending upon which seasonals are available. Honesty, I’ve grown tired of the baseline sampler here, but once in awhile you’ll find gems like Vuuve and some of the varietal IPA series. I don’t visit here as much as I used to, but the food and service have always been good.“

“Reasonable selection beers at the Malvern site but could have been better. Tried the Hefe and Pale Ale. Hefe was OK but not great - not quite sharp enough for me. The Pale Ale was very good. Tried a pizza and what a rip-off! Cost $11 but probably no more than $1 worth of ingredients - I guess it was trying to be trendy! Basically, a 10 inch round piece of bread with a splash of toppings!“

“Very much like the original in Chadds Fords near the DE line, a lot of the same colors & decor inside, pretty much the same food menu as well, had the same year-round beers as the original as well, very roomy inside with a spacious bar area, very attentive & friendly service, food was exellent was usually, big sandwiches, large portions, great beer sampler with all nine beers included, an excellent experience, definitely worth visiting again and again “

“Pretty big place...pool tables and darts downstairs with a nice sized bar. Upstairs is lots of restaurant seating and a larger bar. Very open and spacey. My party split some nachos and wings, both pretty good. I drank the pale ale all night, which was above average for brewpub standards. Overall, the place was fairly empty. Worth visiting again...it will be interesting to see what this place evolves into in the years to come.“
