Star Inn (Bar)
2 BACK HOPE STREET
“There’s two good reasons to come here, firstly it’s a great little pub in the leafy cobbled backstreets of Broughton that regularly rotates real ales from all around the country, and secondly it brews it’s own ales that are also always on sale here. This used to be a Robinson’s pub but now has a fantastic new lease of life. Once you’ve made it up the small cobble slope you’ll be greeted by the outdoor decking area across from the entrance which is at a right angle to the small road you access it on. Inside the door the bar is immediately to your right in a small room that only has one table. The bar itself is tiny and the one cask ale pump on it holds the current Star Inn Brewery brew for sale. The other two cask pumps are against the side wall due to the lack of space so the pump clip actually faces the tap the beer is pulled from. The array of pump clips on the wall in this room is impressive. To the left of the door is the average sized main room, comfortable in a traditional style with all the tables against the front window and back wall leaving a small walking space in between. Live football is shown here and I was here during an Arsenal vs Tottenham FA Cup match which had attracted a fair number of the prevalent local Jewish community into the establishment to watch. Dogs are allowed.“
