“Free parking lot close. The bottle shop has a door on the main road, but was locked during my visit. You have to go to an interior courtyard area to get to restaurant door. Restaurant is new bistro with weathered wood on the wall. Bar is on the back right. The bottle shop was technically open, but had to take bottles to restaurant to check out. Service for bottle shop was good, however restaurant service was lacking. Beer selection of bar was pretty good. Bottle shop had two bottles I purchased. I had the pulled porked and it was pretty good. Pricing was reasonable. I would come back.“

“Stopped in on a Friday night around 8 pm and grabbed a street parking spot that was a little last where my GPS said the address was located. I was in front of a Starbucks. Turns out, this was right in front of Dilly. I just had to walk through a patio area. It looked like there was a dedicated parking lot available, too, but it is shared with all the other stores close by. The patio area seemed nice. There was a jazz band playing as I walked through. Inside there weren’t many seats available and I took the last one at the bar. They had four casks and at least ten taps, plus several refrigerators of bottles. The unrefrigerated beer section was probably five or so wide. Iddidn’t dig through their bottles, but it looked like a decent selection for the area. Maybe a touch above par. I ordered the Bourbon Burger and it came out before I finished my first beer. Cooked the way I ordered it, so no complaints there. It was a good burger, just a little over priced. The fries it came with were good as well. I had a couple beers and a burger and my total after tip was around $25. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. One bartender seemed to know more than the other, but that’s just how it goes. All in all, I had a great experience here, and would come back.“

“Used to have a good thing going, but changes have made this a place I rarely stop by anymore. Food was good, selection was good, draft list was good and still may be but I haven’t been in a while. Plenty of better places around town these days.“

“The selection isn’t quite as impressive as a few other nearby stores, but its still large with some very hard to find beers. Nice feel, nice neighborhood. Service is fair. Food is good but a little expensive. Nice taps with a cask offering (always a plus). It’s too bad for them that they lost Pnut. Definitely a spot worth checking out.“

“Classic beer location in the quaint village of Mariemont. Good food and beer selection. Place consists of a patio out front, seating inside, small bar, and a beer store of above average size. Bartender is very knowledgeable and patient. Most people are pretty nice, lots of locals from the neighborhood go here. Have had many strike up a conversation, whether it be about beer, the food, etc.. Pretty good sandwiches and burgers. I love the Mariemont Cobbler, and the BLT is satisfying. Expect $9-12 range for food. Some beers on tap can be expensive, but they aren’t too bad. Beer store prices are mostly retail. Lots of vintage stuff available. They seemed to have recently opened up a section in the back for more beer shelves. The perfect place to take my mom out to lunch and enjoy a good beer. Have been many times, will return many more.“

“Ambiance was a tad snooty, but not stuffy. Server was courteous but not too knowledgeable. Food was decent but a little overpriced. Bottles were decently priced but not the food. Will go back for a few food items but left with all the beer I wanted (4 bottles and two drafts).“

“Large main dining room looks a little uninviting, but looks were deceiving. Big beer selection; Peanut (our server and beer "master") did a remarkable job steering us to new "favorite" beers. A bonus was the live music (jazz keyboard and female singing ballads) that was well performed and never in the way of conversation. The fact that we spent a fast four hours there says it all. Cincinnati needs more places like this“

“This place was great. My wife and I recently moved to Cincinnati and went on a warm night to check it out. They’ve got outside seating with a decent belgian selection. The food was also really good, I would definitely try the beer cheese dip. What I really liked about this place is the bottle selection. Primarily belgian style bottles but some good 6packs as well. I’m looking forward to my next trip.“

“Nice place to get a pint and try some different beers. Not too big of a selection (compared to Party Source, Party Town, etc...), but what they do have is good. Friendly staff, very knowledgable on wine, but lacking a little on the beer.“

“Nice, somewhat trendy deli with a small, but concentrated bottle selection in the back. Overall, a solidly above average bottle selection with average prices. Little if any refridgerated bottles. They have 14 or so drafts a couple of which are hard to find or regional specials. The food is very good and the prices are appropriate. Service was great until it got crowded... A nice stop for a sandwich and great beer.“

“This was a nice stop for us on a Saturday afternoon. The food was good and the beer selection was more than adequate. They also had a beer store in the back of the store which was a suprise. They probaly had at least 100 different brews to choose from.A very lazy, laid back atmosphere which translated to slow service.Overall a must stop if you are looking for a non bar atmosphere.“

“Very cool location that is a wine store upfront with a deli in the back and side of the wine shop. The beer to a novice would seem like an afterthought but it is anything but. If it’s volume you are looking for this is not the store for you. But for quality this store is excellent. I am an out of town rater but the prices seem to be on par with other stores I have visited in the area and in Ohio. Worth checking out.“

“This is an interesting little place. 1/3 liquor store, 1/3 deli, 1/3 bar. Only 4 or 5 people sitting at the bar at 4:30 on Thursday. Looks like they had a cask and had Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot on tap from the quick glance I took at the taps. Nice little bottle selection. Biggest Alesmith selection I have seen in Ohio so far. Nice little neighborhood place.“

“I drove down here from Dayton (50 minute drive) on the recommendation from a friend and immediately have been back down on 2 other occasions. They have everything I look for in a beer establishment. They have approximately 12 or so taps, including a cask-conditioned ale, and every one seems to be something unique and exceptional. The frustrating part of this place is trying to decide what beer you aren’t going to be able to have that day. The food selection was so impressive I turned what was going to be a quick lunch into a 3 course beer and food pairing event. The food quality was every bit as good as it sounded on the menu (if not better). As an added bonus, they have a great bottled beer selection for take out. I also should add the wine selection was every bit as impressive as the beer selection. Definitely will be on my list of places to stop every time I’m in the Cincinnati area.“

“A must-visit for any beer fans visiting Cincinnati, Dilly Deli features a deli counter, restaurant, and wine and bottle shop. Food is pretty good. Solid selection in a small space for the bottle shop- more space is devoted to the wine cave- but honestly the selection has deteriorated since I’ve been in here last. Most of the labels I like to buy in Ohio were represented, but the stock looked low and picked over and lots of the bottles were dusty. The tap list also seems to be less exciting than it used to be. Still a lot of good stuff but I’m wondering if it’s just gone downhill overall.“

“Went here for lunch on a visit to Cincinnati. Had a lot of southern tier and jolly pumpkin beers, among other stuff, in bottles. The food was decent but not great. Decent draft list. they just ran out of stone RIS and switched over to new holland night tripper. They also had some mount carmel beers and other stuff that i’m forgetting at the moment. I should have thought three times about ordering a bbq type dish from a place like this. probably isn’t there specialty. but i enjoyed my time here nonetheless.“

“Dilly Deli is one of the best destinations for Cincinnati’s serious beer drinkers. Located in the historic town of Mariemont, east of Cincinnati, this is not just a beer store, it’s also good restaurant. Their 13 taps rotate regularly, showcasing some of the best Belgians and American craft beers available. During my first visit I ordered a Tröegs HopBack and Bell’s Porter (cask!), while my wife enjoyed a Tripel Karmeliet. During another visit I had a Southern Tier Jah-va on tap (outstanding). A nice selection of appetizers and entrees are available, including their delicious gourmet beer cheese. As if that weren’t enough, journey to the back where there is a respectable selection of foreign and domestic beers for sale. Macros are virtually nowhere to be found. There’s also live music on the weekends. Prices can run a tad high and the service is a bit slow at times. Nevertheless, the Dilly is highly recommended for Cincinnati’s beer lovers.“

“(Visited 02/2008): Dilly Deli is located in Mariemont, which is a suburb of Cincinnati. It is a quaint town with street and small parking lots sprinkled around. The Deli is tucked away and is difficult to spot from the road. The interior is cramped but not necessarily in a bad way. After entering the deli is on the right, followed by a small aisle of grocery-type items. To the left of that is restaurant seating. After that you hit the bar area, with a small wine alcove to the left of it. In the rear of the store is the bottled beer for sale. The majority is on shelves, with a couple coolers. The beer selection is limited due to space but well thought-out. The bar has draughts from Mt. Carmel, Barrel House, Bell’s (cask Expedition!), Chimay, and GLBC to name a few. The bottles are from craft brewers in the USA (Rogue, Stone, DFH, Stone, etc) and all over the world. Belgium, France, Germany, Japan and others are represented. Service here is very good. The bartenders who served us (food and drinks, as we did not want to wait 45 min for a table) were very attentive and knew the beer. I think one of the bartenders was an owner the Saturday evening we visited. Dilly Deli’s food is really good. My pulled pork sandwich had some of the best BBQ sauce I have ever had. One of my friends complained about his burger being overdone but he is a wuss (and got the burger free anyway) so I am not applying to my score. Overall I have not had a better beer day in quite some time between visiting Party Source and Dilly Deli within a couple hours. This is another must-visit spot in the Cincy area.“

“The restaurant’s beer list is good, but you’re lucky if the printed menu is up to date. They are largely out of both the bottled and draft choices, although they are usually good to recommend an alternative. Their retail availability for beer and wine is fantastic, and they will sell any for in-house consumption at retail prices, which is a great option. However, do yourself a favor and eat dinner elsewhere - the food ranges from bad to mediocre. Appetizers are a safe bet, but beyond that you’re playing russian roulette, and the prices don’t reflect the quality. Overall it’s worth a stop for the retail arm, but it probably doesn’t earn the 94 rating.“

“This is the only place on the Cincinnati tour that I was able to hit when I was in town for business, but I chose properly. The service was excellent, and the guy I talked with knew way more about beer than I did. There were some great beers on tap, and the bottle selection was excellent (I went for Alesmith stuff, and walked out of there with about a case and a half of other goodies). I need to make my way back there in the near future!“

“Stopped in here to pick up some AleSmith’s and found those as well as both versions of Pannepot,Bear Republic,Stone’s,Phantome,Lambic’s,Trappist beers and many other stellar beers. Not huge selection but many quality beers can be found here. I found the bartender to be quite knowledgeable even for a over the top beer guy like myself I could communicate on the highest beer talk level. I knew I was in the right place when I spied an empty bottle of Dark Lord above the bar as well as a bottle of Kuhnein’s Eisenbock . recommend!“

“The selection of beers is not comprehensive by any means, but in the small space they have, they have really great beers. Not what you would expect from a "deli," including lots of imports. Bottle list and tap list were both broad enough, and they will open anything they sell on certain days (assuming I read the menu correctly). Food is better than pub grub, and the staff is knowledgable and accomodating. Definitely a place to stop if you are in the area. Not sure I’d drive the two-plus hours to go again...“

“Dilly Deli is home of the best taps in the city at times. You can always count on them to get the latest release from Stone and get some really rare items on draft. The best thing going for the Dilly Deli are the "Tastings". Brewers come in, bring something special, as well as some others from their lineup and throw down at the Dilly. These have included Founders(KY Breakfast), Rogue, Bells, Arcadia, Barrelhouse(local). They always get the best and the rarest of kegs in Cincinnati. I was just there the other night drinking Bells Expedition Stout on cask from a firkin. The bottle selection falls into the category of Quality not quantity. Due to limited space and good taste, the bottle selection is great. You can even have them chill a bottle and drink it there with your dinner. The food is really good. Very well made and in good portions. A little off the beaten path and possibly a little difficult to find if you’re not from the area, but well worth the effort to find. I frequent the Dilly Deli on a regular basis. Hopefully when you stop in you’ll have the privilege of speaking with Peanut, the best barkeep in the city. The Dilly Deli is a truly a gem of the city.“

“What a treasure of a shopping/meeting gathering. Home of the first Cincinnati gathering -- it was the perfect spot. nestled in a high class Cincy residential neighborhood, it provides a nice stop for any purpose. Here selecetion was a plethera of high end, but not too high ends. The menu items were reasonable priced from natural deli to deep fried bar food--complete with big screen TV for march madness. The taste was awesome and the staff VERY accomidating. Thanks Dilly Deli !“

“We finally ate here, and it made up for my first impression of the place. Might I suggest the the ahi tuna...I didn’t order it, but got a bite from a friend and it was fantastic. Was disappointed to start because every beer I ordered off tap was out. 1/2 hour after we got there the tap lineup changed and we were back in business. Not ideal, but at least I got some decent beer on tap. The Troegs Mad Elf was my favorite. This time the beer area was cleaner and not dusty and the selection much improved from my last visit. Doesn’t beat out my local haunt, but I’m glad we tried again.“

“Checked this establishment out after reading so many good reviews about the place and their beer selection. Some very interesting brews including Ale Smith Speedway Stout which the last two bottles on the shelf went into the cart among many, many others that I haven’t had the chance to experience. Staff was very, very helpful especially when Ratebeer was mentioned to them. They even offered a free sample of a beer that I hadn’t rated yet. Nice establishment and one that I hope to revisit.“

“Not a HUGE selection overall but they maintain a good variety of high end brews - Alesmiths, some good 3Fs (including Dreadnaught) and the obligatory selection of belgians. Prices are OK. They always have some interesting stuff on draft so you can chug a few down while you peruse their offerings. This place definitely does Cincy proud and is worth checking out if you are in the area... and they do have pretty good food too (browsing quality beers makes you hungry!) “

“Another gem down in Cinci. The drafts were Stone IPA, 3 or 4 great lakes including the Commodore Perry IPA, Houblon Chouffee, and several others. A great line up, but not quite like what it was the last time I was there. The bottle shop portion did not dissapoint. Lots of the regular Ohio fare, but quite a few goodies. They had Peche Mortel last time I was there, but not to be this time around. The food was quite good, had a really nice Tuna dish. Nice atmosphere, good service overall, but the bar can get a little slow when it gets busy. Plenty of parking.“

“Great place. I walked into this place, as a lost californian, after a whirlwind plane ride covering some 10 states, only to expect the typical busy bar scene. Instead, I was happy to see that this was a very laid back place, with candles, jazz music, and even some fairly upscale cuisine. This is the first time I have ever been to a place like this. The Neighborhood that Dilly Deli is in is very ecclectic and nice. For anyone that lives on the west coast, this place is like Holingshead Deli, but MUCH more upscale. Anyway, they had a couple of Great Lakes beers on tap, Stone IPA, Houblon Chouffee, Old Speckled Hen, Barrelhouse, Arcadia London Porter, and a couple other things that I dont remember. The porter I had was recommended by Peanut, a rather friendly and interesting server. It was an excellent porter. Peanut had some great stories to tell. The food was decent, although a tad bit over priced. The bottle selection was very good, although not as good as I had expected. Much of it was Stone and Alesmith, which I was obviously not looking for. Didnt find any devil dancer, but I did pick up some Two Hearted Ale. Overall, a fine establishment that I would visit regularly if I lived in CInci.“

“Dilly Deli is awesome, hands down. Great food and an incredible beer selection. They have 10 beers on tap, and usually stuff you don’t find anywhere else, especially in Cincinnati and especially at a little place like this. They have a few staples and a bunch of rotating taps including stuff like La Chouffe, Houblon La Chouffe, Stone IPA, Stone Old Guardian, Laguinitas Imperial Red, Old Speckled Hen, Barrelhouse, Great Lakes, Bells, etc. You can sip a draft while you shop for bottles. The food is excellent. You can drink any bottle they sell while you eat your meal. They sell individual botltles. Chuch and Peanut are extremely knowledgeable and will guide you towards whatever you might be looking for. This is a not miss if you are in the Cincinnati area, whether you want to just pick up some bottles, are looking for a good meal with a good beer, or are looking to sit down and do some serious sampling.“

“Darn, I wish I would have hit this place first on my beer hunting expedition through cinci. That little back corner was packed with good stuff that Party Source, Jungle Jims, and Party town did not have. Great offerings from Alesmith, Founders, Dogfish Head, Fantome, Cantillon, Bells, and so on. A very classy wine bar vibe. BUT... beer is given equal respect here. Bartender was friendly and talked about beer distribution in ohio. I had a quesadilla, which was great. On tap I had a 2003 batch of Bells Third Coast Olde Ale and a Loose Cannon Hop3 on Cask. Since I was driving, I could not have any more. But I walked out with a bottle of Alesmith, Founders Breakfast Stout and Devil Dancer, and a few others. Great place. For those beer geeks that say you do not get enough respect from wine snobs, stop by here. If I ever come through here again, this will be my FIRST stop.“

“An awesome variety of beers in the same space as a cool restaurant in a very neat neighborhood. Probably the best selection I’ve seen around here. However, I was turned off by being treated as a nuisance by one of the employees. I visited in the mid-afternoon and did not see another customer in the bar/beer section the entire time, so I didn’t feel a simple question was too much of a hassle. I was surprised by this based on the service rankings of others. My other complaint was the pricing. They definitely take advantage of their location in this area. Despite the obviously great selection, don’t know if I’ll return. I can get most of the same stuff elsewhere cheaper while being treated better.“

Everything from Cantillion, to rare English bottle conditioned Impy Stouts, to the brand new Weyerbacher Impy Pumpkin. Food was fancy yuppy deli stuff that was excellently prepared.
