86 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET Great food, great beer and great service. A must visit for craft beer lovers! |
84 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET This is a really nice bar. Traditional NJ Irish pub vibe, until you notice the insane # of draft lines. Food is solid bar food as well. Everything here could kinda use an update, but that's part of the charm. Pretty incredible for the area, and an absolute go-to if you are looking for lesser known non-domestic stuff, as this is one of the few places around that has a large # of those. |
90 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET Irish pub feel, but a fantastic selection, local great local, national and international choices. Food was tasty, as well. |
88 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET If your in central Jersey you have to hit this one up. Front area of building has a c shaped bar that has over 100 taps. Some tables around bar. Rear is a sit down booth restaurant. Staff is friendly, service is good. They have tastings and rare beer days. During Xmas season 2016 they had a new winter beer on tap daily. Updated beer lists are a plus. Street parking can be crowded the lots are fairly close. |
88 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET An Irish pub that is typical till you see over 100 taps with the most interesting and well curated selection I have seen in a while. Bar is big and nice with a decent amount of tables, but really no more exciting than any other Irish Pub. Service depends on the bartender, the one we started with was awesome the replacement less awesome. Geeks through and through. Huge and varied selection. Food was nice pub food. Prices are where this place hurts a bit, they are high and no small pours or paddles which suck for tickers. I would happily come back anytime and would recommend this place to anyone. |
92 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET They’ve expanded to well over 100 taps. No filler. All craft or imports. At least 20 I have not seen in NJ before, some that were even new to the site. Some meads and ciders as well. They had seven different Carton beers on when I was there, remnants of a tap take over. Food was solid pub fare. Prices were a touch high, but not crazy for this type of establishment.
Only gripe is that they don’t do flights anymore because of the sheer number of different priced taps. However, they will let you sample some beers, so I was able to try a few when I was there. Overall, a must visit if you are in the area. |
84 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET Went for a few beers for my buddy birthday. Place was very nice. Over 100 beers on tap. Great selection, although a little pricy. However bartenders and owner were very nice, and allowed you to sample something before purchasing. I would definitely revisit Maloney’s. |
94 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET Love this place. If you are within 50 miles, you need to stop.
One of the best tap systems going in the state, if not THE best. Selection of craft beers, imported and domestic, is amazing. They care about beer here and it shows.
Always feel free to ask for a sample of something you are not sure of. They like to educate people about the different beers they choose to put on tap. Just great. |
88 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET by far the best beer bar in the area. service is great at the bar but can be shoddy if you sit in the dining room. selection for this part of nj is peerless, and most of the bartenders seem to know the product. food is always awesome pub-style food. can be a bit greasy or salty at times, but it’s tasty and cheap. |
90 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET Great selection of beers !!! rotating taps keep a good balance of seasonals and themes. |
66 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET This place has a lot of potential. The staff is so much better then when they opened a few years ago. The draft selection is great for the area. Prices seem a bit high. Never crowded which is sad. I honestlty don’t know how they stay in business. Something is missing but I can’t put my finger on it. I’m hoping it hits it ’s stride since Matawan needs a good place. |
80 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET I went to Maloney’s for the Port/ Lost Abbey stuff they had on draft. There is a very large bar with 50-75 taps with 80% of them having a handle on top of the tap. The tap list blew my mind to see how many different offerings they had. Lots of good beers but nothing you can’t find at a good liquor store. Though They do give the option to sample stuff. The tap lines seemed to be clean. Although I would’ve liked my racer 5 to be fresher. It was kind of muted. I went there at lunch time and there were only 4 other people there. I ordered pomme frites but sent them back because they were logged in grease. So i’ll make adjustments when I get some more food from them. Overall I would definitely return to have some more pints. |
82 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET There tap selection was incredible for central New Jersey. We went in summer and it was a little warm in inside the restaurant A large nice Irish style brew pub.The server was very knowledgeable and they had some rare Belgium beers only available on tap. They had over 50 taps and said they were gonna have over a 100 soon. The food was good but nothing really outstanding. Overall an excellent place for a Burger and great beer. Although I would lean towards the beer. |
84 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET they’ve added an insane amount of taps to the place over the last year. always amazing beers on tap. fantastic onion rings. |
76 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET Stopped in last night for my first time. The draft list is underwhelming. Though perhaps it is living in PA which is jading my vision. Nothing on the bottle list that can’t be found at the beer store down the street. Perhaps this is a good place for an Irish meal, they seem to have corned beef added to every dish. We did get the nachos, but, they were potato chips with nacho toppings. Our bottles were brought to the table as so (no glass given). When glasses were requested, they came out frosty (and one was chipped). So, it’s a decent place to get a meal if a sporting event you are trying to watch is on TV. But, I think i’d prefer to just go to the beer store down the block, get a six pack and just chill at my parent’s house. |
64 /100 Maloney’s Pub and Grill (Bar) 117 MAIN STREET i ordered food opening night ( a pulled pork sandwich). Unfortunatly it came without bbq sauce, which i think is a mainstay of the sandwich. Their selection is great 24 on tap, and advertised 250 types of bottled beer. Bartenders had really no knowledge of beer or even where to find it. The first two i ordered they couldn’t even find and seemed annoyed that i was ordering obscure beers. Beer on tap was only lukewarm.... A great place to to try bottled beer if they can find it....
i have been back a few times since my first venture there, and hands down they have a great selection, better than probably any bar in monmouth county that i have run across... there is still a lack of knowledge of the beer they serve, and i wonder how long some of their products are collecting dust... i ordered a founders dirty bastard which was totally flat, i know founders has this problem, but some of their bottles seem a little past their prime... none the less they should be commended for the many many choices they have... i will even bump up the rating from 58 to 64... keep up the good work |
