“On the other side of the main road to the Milnrow Metrolink tram station, if you’re driving here from the motorway you’ll need to take the turning on the left about a 100 yards before you pass the pub which sits below the busy Elizabethan Way that heads towards Rochdale. It’s certainly worth a stop though if you have time as JW Lees have created a very convivial and chain like pub which is a notch or two above your average Wetherspoon in style but in an appealing large open plan room. The bar in the centre is flanked on either side by tables more suited for dining, with the main drinking tables in front of the service area, but it all fits together well and it’s a good looking pub. You’ll be able to sample the current seasonal brew from JW Lees here as well as selection of their more familiar regular ales and lager. Given it’s less than two minutes drive from the M62 junction it’s a perfect place for a stop off.“

“On the main street through Milnrow just before it goes under the Motorway bridge, this is a quiet multi-room Sam Smiths pub with a subdued but friendly vibe. The main room is the one you enter with the smallish bar at its rear and the majority of the seating in front of this. There’s a snug as well as a pool room on the left after you walk in. The beer and ale selection is not a full Sam Smiths selection but there’s plenty of different styles available and a couple of their bottled ales in the fridge behind the bar. The pub is slightly set back from the road allowing a couple of picnic tables out front if the weather is good enough to allow outdoor supping.“

“Probably the best option for rotating ales in Milnrow even though it’s a predominantly Marstons selection. There’s three ale pumps and a couple of keg options and they regularly include seasonals and specials from the brewer. This is not the most obvious of traditional styled pubs to find as it is off and out of sight of the main road, but if you take the road directly next to the Moonspinners pub you can not fail to see it.“

“On the eastern side of the town, this JW Lees pub amongst rows of terrace houses along the main road offers a very down-to-earth urban experience whilst offering a small range of the brewers ales and one of its lager. Manchester Pale Ale was the only cask whilst everything else was keg. There’s several rooms to sit in, a couple of which are openly connected with a pool table at the end of one. To the rear the simple beer garden overlooks the drab car park and municipal fields beyond that.“
