70 /100 MAIN ST The ’local’ brewery for yours truely. Nice location nestled among the rolling foothills of Gippsland. The interior is nicely done; some good big slabs of local Eucalyptus wood used in various fixtures, and a view straight into the working brewery from the bar and pool room. Staff are friendly and easy going, more than happy to discuss the local brew, even with a modest number of beers on offer. First time in there, believe it was a Friday night, the place was bustling, so much so, we missed out on food. Was lucky enough to be in the area around lunch time on the next occasion; decent choice to eat, serious country style feeds on offer at a reasonable price, and tasty at that. A must if youre in the Gippsland area! |
74 /100 MAIN ST This brewery is about an hour or so from Melbourne. I found this brewery by accident when I made a wrong turn while driving thru the Gippsland. They have won a number of awards for their beers over the years so the beers are quite solid across the board. Too bad they are hard to find in Melbourne. The bartender was not too knowledgeable but the service was good. The pub grub is quite good. The Hatlifter Stout was excellent and the Yarra Valley Gold Real Ale hit the spot after the long drive. The prices seem reasonalble. Worth a visit if you are in the area. |
72 /100 MAIN ST Great service, very friendly staff, happy to have a bit of a chinwag. Nice looking wood panelling along the bar and floor. 4 distinct areas; dining, bar, lounge, and outdoor area/beer garden. Lounge has darts and pool and overlooks the brewing area. Enjoyed trying black and tans with every different pale ale they had, including WHOA. Great pricing on Fridays, $3 pots of all the tap beers. |
70 /100 MAIN ST Was here in early 2006, I’m a bit surprised by this brewery... released almost all of their opening beers at the same time, then have not made any new products for years. Still... i think the beers are pretty solid. This place is a half restaurant/half pub, with the latter half looking over the brewery operation. Ate a delicious casserole, served with bread and moonshine on tap. Also had the stout which was terrific. Worth the visit if in the area, also great scenery around there too. |
