High Park Tap House (Restaurant)
23641 VIA LINDA
“Visited on 21st March 2019 (a weekly Tap Thursday). It's really a sports bar; 32 taps a few bottles and 40 screens. Dark inside with a large drinking area near the bar and a larger eating area with bigger tables. Pleasant enough staff, busy barman; very busy at 18:00 right through to 20:00 when I left. Prices didn't match their website promotion of Tap Thursday, but they did knock $5:00 of the bill when I complained about my costings (not the $13:00 I expected). All four beers and food I had was fine, but the blatant lying about cheaper prices on 'Tap Thursday' left a sour note at the end. They seem to stock a lot of Bottle Logic taps, which is no bad thing.“

Beach Hut Deli (Restaurant)

“Visited on Saturday 9th March 2019. Ten taps, one of which was a cider. As Coors Lite and Guinness were another two that's seven beers I could choose from. I chose five to try and each were fine. All seven were from different breweries and a decent mix of styles (and States, but mostly Californian). Funny sort of place, TV screens all over, expensive sandwiches and a half-hearted attempt to make the joint look like a hang out for surfer dudes and slightly Hawaiian. It's part of a chain, so I expect they all look similar. Clientele were mostly older people and blokes with their children having a drink while waiting for their take away food to be prepared. We didn't eat and were the only people actually staying for more than one beer, apart from one old couple who ate in.“

Viejo Liquor (Beer Store)

“Visited on 6th March 2019. It's twenty yards across a parking lot from a Beach Hut Deli (that is also on the RateBeer data base); both being less than a mile from my Son-In-Law and Daughters home in Laguna Hills. Looks a bit run-down and 'dodgy', not too exciting inside either, not even to a visiting Brit; mostly well known big American breweries and common Mexican lagers. Did manage to find a couple of bombers new to me, so not all bad.“

“Typical Trader Joe's outlet. This is the nearest one to my daughter's new house in Laguna Hills. Visited on 1st March 2019. Found 10 new rates for myself. Always liked the chain of stores, good value all round and some of their 'own brand' beers are very good; plus they stock other beers from around the US. It's no Total Wine, but it doesn't try to be.“

High Park Tap House (Restaurant)
23641 VIA LINDA
“This place used to be an Oggi’s, but it is now High Park Tap House and is really just essentially the same exact restaurant. No real changes to the decor other than getting rid of the Oggi’s insignia.

I guess the food menu is a little different these days, but it’s still about the same sort of stuff they used to have: pizza, salads, burgers, and some typical bar food. The beer list is about the same as well with the notable exception being that there aren’t any Oggi’s beers anymore...which is probably a good thing, actually. Some special/limited releases like the new Stone collaboration IPA and Barrel Aged Arrogant Bastard. A bunch of nice beers, mostly local-ish and more towards the hoppy side of things.

The service and staff seem to even be the same. I guess I kind of like it better now that you don’t have a quarter of the taps taken up by Oggi’s garbage.“

“This sandwich shop is a short walk from my house and has several micro’s on tap. The place is nice; the food decent, but pricey and the service was good“

“High Park Tap house replaces the Oggi’s that was once there. The owners decided not to renew their franchise w/ Oggi’s. When I’ve been there, the food & service have been good. The beer selection was very good, plus they have regular tap takeovers, spotlighting various breweries“

“Beer selection is worse than most liquor stores who offer Belgians. Not worth the gas to go out of your way. Nothing remotely rare. Probably OK, if you live next door, but I would still travel up to HiTime or down to PP Carlsbad, or over to Sheas for beer instead.“

“I’ll second viejo liquor as far as places to go in mission viejo. prices are decent, selection is better than most liquor stores. I think I saw a seperate wine room. Pretty big place. Stone 22’s run at about 4.00 to give you an idea.“

“This is a small liquor store at the corner of La Paz Rd. & Muirlands Blvd. The beer selection is pretty good: Russian River, Alesmith, Stone plus other micros.“
