78 /100 Denbigh Arms (Restaurant) 1 MAIN ST, Visited on 17/02/15 with the better half after somewhere nice to eat as the M6 had collapsed as usual, this place is in the Beer Guide 2015 and came recommended. The pub is a traditional quiet village local, with timbers and lined walls, real fires, centre bar. The bar had 7 "sticks" dispencing 3 real ales, Sharps Doom Bar, Wells Bombadier Reserve and Caledonian Over the Bar. The Wells and Caledonian being guests. They also have their own beer brewed by Tunnel, "Denbigh EIPA". This was in bottle form only.
The food is a tad expensive, but is all fresh cooked to order and locally sourced. I had the Gamon steak, but they had no eggs in, so gave me an extra piece of gammon. Onto a winner here!!! Food was truely excellent. Beer is well kept and the service was brilliant. The new landlord showed us the refurbished room upstairs which the previous weekend they had had a mini beer festival and he had a decent array of bottle beers to go on sale too. Recommended! |
