38 /100 1558 CANYON ROAD Super hidden town brewery in Moravia on the outskirts of Concord, on the other side of the Oakland hills. Nice little town. I like Canyon Club beers, but visiting the brewery was a big disappointment. The tap list is around 16 beers, but only 6 house beers. The website makes it look like tons of house beers available. I ordered a flight (4 for $14) but you can’t pick. They give you 2 choices: sour flight or regular flight. The sour flight consists of the same beer from 4 different barrels. They all taste the same, and there is no name for the beer, and it’s nothing special. Just a waste of $14. Not recommended to visit here. Canyon club beers elsewhere are good. |
72 /100 Moraga Wines and Spirits (Beer Store) 1437 MORAGA WAY This place looks like the sister store in Concord both inside and out. This one is roughly half the size though. Most of the same brews are offered here as there except I saw a Firestone Walker XII, Drake’s BA Old Ale and some RR special releases. Very cool. If I was a local I’d be pretty happy with this place. |
54 /100 Moraga Wines and Spirits (Beer Store) 1437 MORAGA WAY good selection for its size. just make sure not to get behind some douche tard buying lotto tickets. |
80 /100 Moraga Wines and Spirits (Beer Store) 1437 MORAGA WAY Good size beer selection for such a small store, however, they do carry some heavy hitters (all trappistes except Westvleteren, four Stones, and two Russian Rivers ect….). Good selection micros, decent selection of imports, some hard to find beers. Good rotation of new beers, they sell singles as well. |
