“For what it is, it is good. But this is not a bar or brewery. This is a tourist shop selling all things honey, and mostly local honey. It has an appropriate ambience for that function, but it is not a place with any real focus on the alcoholic beverages. There is a little tasting counter where they had four quite different types of meads, from beer strength, through wine strength to liqueur. The staff were helpful and the place was quiet so it was easy to get served. The tasting was free. The spiced mead was served warmed. The meads were good. (The location currently shown on the map is wrong - it is not in Hill End. The address is right - it is in Mudgee, at the start of the Hill End Road)“

“One of a tiny handful of mead-makers in Australia. This touristy shop/cafe is on the outskirts of Mudgee, four hours north-west of Sydney. The focus is on all things honey and at time of visiting there were four honey-based meads/drinks available to sample and buy - standard mead, spiced mead, spiced liqueur and sparkling alcohol-free honey drink. The place is unsophisticated and crammed with honeys and tourist tat. The clientèle seem to consist of bus tours and families. I didn’t think much of the meads, all priced at $20 for 750mls, but the fact they exist is worth recording.“
