72 /100 OBERMARKT 37 We came here 12.3.2017. Really nice brew pub/restaurant with a beautiful golden brew house very centrally located. Seems here was a brewey already in the 17th century. A young couple has taken over and is brewing innovative beers in a historic place. They have 3 regular beers and 1-2 saisonals. We tried the Werdenfelser Ur Dunkel and the Murnator, both quite good. Overall a very welcoming and friendly place. |
60 /100 OBERMARKT 37 As with many brewpubs in Germany, it can sometimes be difficult to work out whether a place is a tourist trap or if it’s a genuinely decent place for top quality beer. This place falls somewhere in between. I had one beer (the weisse) which was pleasant enough, although the staff seemed a bit aloof and even abrupt. |
68 /100 OBERMARKT 37 good, cozy german beer hall, food is good but the self service is a bit dull, beer is good but the selection very narrow, ambiance and beer service are great... |
72 /100 OBERMARKT 37 Traditional looking German beer hall. It is located in a pedestrian zone and is part of restaurant/hotel. The beer is brewed on site. The food is typical Bavarian items but is decent. It is worth stopping in if you are in the area. We were able to get a tour of the place and meet the braumeister. I definitely recommend taking the tour if the option is available to you. |
76 /100 OBERMARKT 37 Nice place at the end of the pedestrian area. There is a brewpub attached to a restaurant, a hotel and a beer garden in the summer. The sort of food is different in each part; beer garden snacks, hot buffet or á la carte. The staff is really nice and the brewer is open for a chat. |
54 /100 OBERMARKT 37 nice beer. great ambiente. food is poor. |
72 /100 OBERMARKT 37 big, traditional looking place, nicely decorated rooms, very friendly service. They have all their beers available in growlers to take away at reasonable prices. A very nice place in a very nice town. |
76 /100 OBERMARKT 37 Huge place with a traditional Bavarian style beer hall up top with a boiler and a mash tun. Separate area with fermenters, including one open fermenter for the wheat beers. Beer is pumped straight from the bright tanks into the brewpub. Down below is a more sedate and cozier gasthaus and shop where you can buy the beers. Wolfgang the braumeister is a fun guy to do shots of schnapps with. Worth a stop. |
78 /100 OBERMARKT 37 Weren’t in the mood for the canteen-style offerings in the Brauhaus, so we stepped into the adjacent Brauereigasthof, which has a genuine and cosy atmosphere, quite busy at lunchtime on a Saturday, with very friendly and attentive staff. The food was quite tasty and the beers are of generally high quality. Worth a visit. |
64 /100 OBERMARKT 37 Brewpub and hotel with affordable quality rooms. Lovely patio, spacious with the brewing kettles in the large room. Food can be obtained at a counter. Decent to good Bavarian food, but my wife didn’t like the frozen pizza.
Decent to good beers. |
