“Located near Nishinomiya Kitaguchi in a modern concrete building, you go up the stairwell around the corner & bam! You are transported to a European brasserie with wood paneling, Belgian & German beer signs. A selection of bottles heavily geared towards Belgium and 8 taps (1 Yona Yona real ale, 1 Hoegardden & 6-7 domestic craft beers). Prices are a bit high a Regular costs 750-850 yen & Large 1100-1250. I ordered the Barley style spaghetti for 950 yen & an R-size Ise Kadoya Grapefruit IPA for 750. Prices are tax included at it opens from 1pm weekdays(noon on weekends/holidays) which is nice for day drinkers like me. Too bad they don’t have a lunch set. A nice place with staff who let me do my own thing, not really chatty types. Free wifi is nice too. “

“Sorry, I was not impressed. I got there at 5:00 PM (they open at 1:00 PM), and they basically ignored me. Language wasn’t the issue, as I speak enough Japanese to get in trouble. But the man was more interested in his email, and the woman never came out of the back. I finally called the fellow over, and asked for a run-down on what’s on tap. He proceeded to point me to the bottle menu. I finally got what I came for, and it was good, but the experience was strange. Maybe they’d just had a fight or something... Final tab for two schooners (1/2 pints) of Japanese craft beer and a little plate of crackers: ¥2000. Just moved to Kobe area and was looking for a place to have a pint or two on a Friday evening, guess I’ll keep looking.“

“Nice little bar not too far out of the centre if you fancy making the effort. 5 Japanese micros on tap and Yona Yona on handpull. Selection of Japanese micro bottles too, but seems to be mainly concerned with belgian bottles. Good selection of these including de dolle and a few different gouden caroulus and a good selection of good lambics. Prices are a bit high, but guess you pay to have this kind of selection. Cozy little place and seemed like a nice atmosphere.“

“Seating for just about 10 makes it an intimate place. Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. Proper glassware for each beer. Good selection of craft J beer and Belgian bottled. You’ll pay for them, but that is to be expected. 2014 UPDATE: This used to be one of the only places in Kansai, but with more craft places opening up with much better draft selections (and better prices) it is no longer deserving of a top rating.“

“Cozy place near the Hankyu Nishinomiya station, about halfway between Osaka and Kobe. Draughts are almost all Japanese micros, plus Hoegaarden. Usually Yona Yona on the handpump. Beers in great condition. Pints are a better deal than the regular glass. Lots of bottled beer, many Belgians; a fantastic selection of Lambics. Food also available. Master is nice and very knowledgeable. He gets in a lot of beers that are not available elsewhere in the area.“
