“Enjoyed our visit to this Spoons that appears in the 2019 Good Beer Guide with friendly service and a decent choice of ales on offer. There were a couple of Oakham beers on and the Blue Skies IPA was fine.“

“Neat little micropub in the town centre. It's small but it's got a nice feel to it, with the walls adorned with quite a few of the pumpclips that the pub has offered. Service is friendly, as are the clientele. The beer selection is, unfortunately, small and safe. Four beers fed by gravity included breweries from Cornwall and Wales, but nothing terribly enticing. The saving grace - and what may give it an overall slight edge over the nearby Wetherspoons - is the number of ciders. There's a good handful of solid appley stuff, nothing you can't get elsewhere but worth checking out.“

“Decent if not world-beating Wetherspoons in a town devoid of a huge choice of pubs. Light, airy, loud and clean with uncomfortable chairs and tiny tables. Slightly old-style 90s Spoons type of feel. The beer is what you'd expect, although the 6 guests on for the spring festival may have artificially inflated the selection. May be the best choice in Nuneaton at time of writing.“

“Small bar of 2 floors. Bigger than most MicroPubs I've been to. of the nine hand pumps 4 were real ale, 2 cider 3 weren't on. I think 4 is the normal number of real ales. It was a good selection. Worth a visit if you find yourself in Nuneaton with an hour or so to kill.“

“Visited on 29th August 2016. The only Spoons standing after the Lloyds has closed. Single room with wooden panels and a library’s worth of books. Seating in rows is almost like a North Korean workhouse. Beer range is pretty decent with 2 Backyard, a Beatty and Oakham beer plus Davenport bitter. Prices £2.19 a pint. Food decent. A small and decent Spoons.“

“Not the best jdw I’ve been too, but also not hate worst. Fairly small for the chain, but with lots of small wooden tables in rows it reminded of a work canteen. 6 different hand pump guest ales as well as the regular beers.“

“Pretty hilarious Nuneaton has finally been pinned on the RB map and not by myself. I’m all in favour of rating individual Spoons: this one deserves especial praise for the range, locally accented provenance and condition of beers on offer; 9 is usual, 1 Oakham beer as permanent, usually 2 from Purity, Byatt’s, Backyard or Sadler’s and often Marston’s Single Hop stuff. CAMRA discount; extensive library of rare, out-of-print German textbooks. Sparklers optional. But this is Treacletown so expect a higher than average concentration of nutcases, soaks, all-dayers, moping Boro fans...but also Oakham enthusiasts from the Greater Nuneaton area, myself included. Service is informed and both customer and beer-friendly. Beware the weekend queueing system, unique in my experience, whereby thirsty patrons ignore the bar and form an orderly line to the right of it. Food? Recently saw one of the barstaff on his break licking his plate clean. Is there any higher commendation of one’s own produce? Essential stop on a pre/post match trawl of Treacle. In fact, these days, comfortably the best pub in town.“

“Wetherspoon in the pedestrianised streets of Nuneaton town centre. This is kitted out in traditional fashion for this chain, favouring a lighter wood style throughout. On either side of the practically square ground floor room are bookshelves that add to the ambiance, in the middle of one of these is a fireplace that is popular during the winter months. At the bar two rows of ale pumps provide both local and national ales. As Nuneaton draws very few tourists expect a local crowd.“
