“Since I was close to Oak Harbor, I decided to visit Flyer’s. And since I am that close I might as well visit this place. More so in the downtown area than the brewpub. Clean, well lit interior, wooden selves, Close to 10 taps for growler fills. Mom and op place, the owners are supper nice. I only found 2 breweries that are not available in Seattle. More of the wanted beers still on the selves. Some of the closer breweries were a but cheaper than they are in Seattle. If I am there I would come back, if I am looking for a beer sold out in Seattle I could find it here. But if you miss it, you wont be missing much.“

“I was on the island near Oak Harbor, so I thought I would visit the brewery. Small place, wooden exterior, snug but homey inside. Aside from the tap handles and the brewery equipment behind the bar I would have no idea this is a brewery. Even the equipment is a bit hidden. More of an airplane themed place. Staff was average from my experience. My wife had the salad but menu was typical pub food. Beer is all fine, you’ll find one you like and one you don’t and the rest will be unmemorable. Only come here if you happen to be in the area.“

“A themed bar for the US Airforce. A bit over the top and tacky for me, but no offensive. Service was great, she knew all her styles and had the spiel down pat. Good large selection and a sampler was available for cheap. I had an appetizer which was great and pricing was reasonable. Overall the beer was OK, with a few surprises. I would happily pay them a visit again.“

“Typical sports bar-ish brewpub right on Hwy 20. Not really on the way to anything unless you’re coming from mainland WA and taking a ferry over to Port Towsend (or coming back). Beer quality is pretty average, with a couple of above average ones. Didn’t have the food, but it looked like your standard pub fare. Cool place worth a quick stop if you’re coming by, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.“

“nice place. best beer store i have found on the island. prices are a little higher than 99 bottles in fed way, but going here beats the long 100 plus mile drive. owners are friendly and knowledgeable. selection could be better but that all depends on the dispributor sooooo....“

“stopped there to check out the local brewpub. had two of their stouts which were okay. was not too impressed with the ’nachos’ which is a basket of chips and a skillet of all the stuff you would put on the nachos, more like a been dip. the groud beef didnt quite taste right, like old meat that had been left out. wife said it tasted a bit like bleech. i have heard that the burgers are pretty good but will have to let you know on a later date. service was okay, but the staff on the floor didnt seem to be able to answer any questions about the beer. menu was large but not too large. overall an okay visit but not as impressed as the locals make it sound. but when in oak harbor what else do you have to chose from.“

“This was a nice stop while driving up this beautiful island. I love the vintage aerospace theme. The food was good. I had this stack of fresh mozzarella, thick tomato slices, balsamic vinegar and basil. Man this hit the spot. The beer did too. It wasn’t epic but pretty solid. I hope to get back here.“

“Stopped in, for the first time, to grab a quick lunch bite. Small pub with a nice little ’aviation’ theme going on. They had about eight of their own brews on, along with some other standards. I’ve noticed some mixed reviews for their porter, so I went for it. I thought it was fantastic! One of the more enjoyable porters I have had in a while. The IPA was nice as well. Although hard to tell, based on the timing of my particular visit, the service was fine. Only had the fish and chips, so I cannot comment on their dinner items. The menu looks nice (can get pricey in spots, especially if the quality doesn’t happen to hold up), so I would be willing to give them a dinner shot at some point. I certainly look forward to trying a few more of their brews.“

“Nice little store! Owner was knowledgeable, friendly, and quite helpful. They carry a great array of good locals and standard imports ... with a surprise or two along the way. Most of the brews are stored on shelves at room temperature, which isn’t exactly optimal for the ipa’s, but I imagine those tend to move/rotate quickly. Things are nicely organized according to style (I prefer ’by brewery’, but their method works well for them). Overall, it is a great place that I will gladly support whenever I am in the area. I look forward to seeing them grow!“

“Beer hall with flight memorabilia. Owner served on the Coral Sea. Smoked salmon and oysters are the best ever. The salmon is smoked on site, and the oysters were the plumpest and tastiest - beat anything at the best oyster places in Seattle and Bellevue. Except they come as shooters. Seven of their beers on tap. A great place, even though quite a bit country. Like deep fried dill pickles. Those are tasty though.“

“Great beer store in the middle of nowhere - well, depends on how you view an island in Puget Sound. It’s a great store. Many good "local" beers, many good imports. A bit weak on barrel aged. Owner was knowledgable and helpful. Stock was very well organized. Had many beers I hadn’t had, including some I’d been searching for. If you are within 50 miles, go there. If you come from Mukitilo, you can take the ferry! From Anacortes it’s a land trip. Flyers brewpub is in the same town, so it’s win win.“

“The atmosphere is friendly. The service is always great. The Food is good. They have a great selection of house beers; and on brewer’s nights they serve beers/ales from guest breweries. It is by far one of the best places to go in Oak Harbor.“

“I love all the aviation stuff on the walls. Service has always been well above average and friendly. A great selection of both house and guest brews. Food is very good. Everything is fairly priced. Overall Flyers is worth going out of your way for.“

“Great local place with outstanding beers on tap. Food is decent, but pales in comparison to the beer.“

“Nice little place to hit up if you’re visiting Navy family/friends. Naval Aviator themed place, friendly staff and pretty good beers. Can’t comment on the food, but there were enough people eating there that it had to be at least decent. I’m sure I’ll return if I’m ever in the area again.“

“Nice place with a welcome atmosphere. Beers were great, food was solid. Bartenders were very friendly. Lots of navy people about. Family atmosphere in the dining area. A few solid guest taps in addition to their own. I’m pretty sure that if I lived in Oak Harbor, I’d be here a lot. Spoke with the owner for a bit and it sounds like they will be expanding the brewery soon to meet their production demands, including 22oz bottles.“

“Nice new construction. Evidently this place had been in business for decades and recently either remodeled or built new, while adding a brewery that’s quickly gaining notoriety. The place feels clean and casual and well put-together; you can tell they had some budget because the hardware and fixtures were clearly not cheap, but the place doesn’t feel pushy or snotty or self-absorbed. Lots of kindly old locals chowing down at the bar. They have plenty of guest beers, a nice big menu, and a cadre of cheerful, efficient local kids working the floor. Don’t bother asking them technical beer questions, but they’re nice and they make sure that you get everything you need.“

“great atmosphere, great service and smiles galore, that was my first impression of flyers brewery and restaurant. I had two pints of barnstormer and one spitfire, both crafted from what i can tell to be a very talented brewmaster, one you would expect to sit down right next to you and enjoy a pint for himself. also two thumbs up for the pulled bbq pork which was delicious, and lets not forget the sweet potato fries....ah the fries.“

“Loads of servers, coat checkers, door openers, and someone to do just about anything you could want. Place was pretty full when we stopped in, and the locals didn’t take long to notice our non-localness. I wasn’t a fan of either of their own brews, but friendly service and a decent selection of others micros make up for it.“

“It was second day when I arrived, so they had tons of staff, including about three people just to open the door. Only two house beers right now, but the other taps are all local micros. Looks like they’ll try to be a bit of everything, typical of small town brewpubs. I’ll be going back when they’ve got their full beer lineup and get a better feel for the place.“
