60 /100 4 WHEATSHEAF WALK
“Right in the town center on a pretty and pedestrianized street. There’s a car park just steps away. Inside has a bit warmer decor than most Weatherspoons. There is even a nice rooftop terrace, sadly overlooking a car park and given over to smokers. Casks are dominated by Peerless and Moorehouse’s. And you won’t believe this, but the veggie breakfast is exactly the same as all other Weatherspoons.“

“Overlooking one of the central car parks in the town centre, this new and plush looking Wetherspoon is looking very much like the Pitcher & Piano chain and bridges the gap between pub and restaurant. Plenty of people are here for food throughout the day and families are prevalent. The decor is soft and easy on the eye with nice thick carpets with a design that mimics the wood paneling on the stanchions holding up the newly built building. There’s two levels with an upper outdoor terrace resembling a newly built apartment blocks balcony area, and if the weather is good the large glass windows at the front all open out to make this a very aired and breezy downstairs area. The bar is against the back wall and has 12 hand pumps over two rows serving plenty of ales. The walls include a glove making display to represent the local area’s industrial history.“
