“2024-04-06. Good size pub is super busy for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Nice decor, stone and wood, lots of tap handles along the ceiling. Food was very good. I had the turkey club with a salad and ginger beef soup. Friendly staff is busy. Beer selection is a pretty good mix of breweries and styles - including a couple brewed (or at least labeled) for them. I really liked the place but I was tired and it was super noisy - it was busy, including a decent number of loud kids, and our seat under the stairs meant we heard constant thumps of people going up and down. I would come back for a second visit if I was eating and in the neighbourhood. The location limits how much of the tap list you can try unless you have a driver. “

“2024-04-05. Medium sized bar with a decent amount of seating - most of which was reserved on a Friday after work. Mabel and I sat at the bar and shared two flights and two drafts. The TV show Alf was playing on an old Commodore monitor. 12 taps, beers we tried were just okay. The Voices Carry Rockaberry was the best for me but it's basically tart juice. The others were all okay, but didn't really grab me. Friendly busy staff. Worth a visit, but the beers didn't line up with my own tastes so I'd choose other local options first.“

“2024-04-05. Small taproom in commercial plaza with a small seating area and a wee friendly puppy (dogs are welcome). 8 taps. Friendly server. Beers were not really to my tastes overall. Worth a visit if you are in the area but I would prioritize other local spots if you have limited time in town. “

“Visited on February 28, 2024, in the afternoon. Located in the industrial park in Beaconwood, east of downtown, just off Montreal Road and Route 174. The brewery is at the end of the building at 5510, Canotek Road, note that the tap room and the retail store have their own entrance. Medium size tap room with some canadianish decor, easy to access, there is even a patio across the parking lot. The variety on the tap list is not bad, however all the IPA's are all hazy, what I had was drinkable, they do have invited cans, wines and ciders, food wise is mostly snacks. The service was ok, a bit slow for being the first and only customer for a while. The thing is I had better from them, oh well!“

“Visited on February 28, 2024, in early afternoon. Located in Riverview's industrial park, south west of downtown Ottawa, just a short distance west of St. Laurent BLVD. Nice beer list, all are available to go and about half are on tap and what I had (4 tasters) was nice. The only food available are chips. The only person working in the tap room was very nice, gave me water without asking (especially with tasters), was very informative. I was there on a weekday just past 1 (opening hour), so it was quiet with a few for buy to go. There is a mobility ramp for wheelchair/walker users. Very decent, I would go back!“

“Brewery located just off bank street in Ottawa South. The brewery has the capacity to host shows with a large stage in the middle of the palace. Nice patio outside if you prefer to be more quiet. Good selection of beers with good service at reasonable prices for Ottawa.“

“Brewery located between downtown and Orleans in Ottawa. Plenty of parking but the place is a bit tricky to find in this industrial sector. Large taproom with plenty of tables and bar room. Good selection of more than 12 taps, plus cider and wines. Very good service with reasonable prices. Shop is selling Dominion City beers and a few other Ontario craft beers and some spritzy water cans. Well worth the detour.“

“Small walk from downtown (or way back from Tooth & Nails). Industrail or commercial area, industril charme. Lot of boards at the wall => pretty cool charity: #allhandsondeck. Unfortunatly no options for delivery to Germany. Nice selection of beers, all of them at least solid. My favorite was a NEIPA and a Rye. Flights available. Staff is friendly.“

“This is a small corner place on the ground level of a modern apartment building. You encounter the serving bar first and place your beer order. There are two rooms of picnic tables, Bavarian biergarten style, and more picnic tables on an outdoor patio. There is also a window for ordering German food - pretzels of course, but also potato pancakes, currywurst and schnitzel. Most things are authentic except for the big screen TV playing sports, and the fact that my currywurst was plant based. The beer was decent and on styles. They were hosting trivia on a Tuesday evening and apparently that's not open to the public (it's by reservation I guess), so I was given a five minute warning to vacate and had to scarf down my food. Worthwhile if nearby“

The Third (Restaurant)
1017 WELLINGTON ST W
“Small neighborhood bar with an even smaller deck out the side door that gets sun at most hours of the day, partially shaded around noon. Inside is a long bar with both bar and restaurant tables. I asked for a table but hostess would only seat me at the bar, so it sux to be single here. Bar was tight quarters and loud on a Sunday evening. Beer list is small and half macro, most people were drinking Labatts quarts, but they had a couple of IPAs from Dominion City and one from Bellwoods. Food was OK pub grub. Better off across the street.“

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. There are some sidewalk tables, but they were too hot during a mini heatwave. Inside was much more comfortable with a long L-shaped bar and some restaurant tables. The barman was hilarious, and a good source of info on the local beer and food scene. Eight beers on tap, all were local and interesting. Food was elevated pub food, almost gastropub, with a handful of veggie options, a welcome sight. Solid place.“

“Just off the main drag in a lively neighborhood. Small outdoor deck-like area, large bar inside with lots of restaurant tables. There is also a small shop area that has cans to take away. Taplist is fairly small but quality is very high. Pilsners and saisons seem to be the go-to beers. Servers know the beers extremely well and had good recommendations. The pretzel with spicy cheese was very tasty, didn't try the rest. Solid place.“

“Nice bar/restaurant on Wellington Street with ample parking on the street. Great selection of taps with a focus on local/regional beers. Greta beer list with again some local/regional beers and some great choice of lambic. Great service with very knowledgeable waiters. Great food made from fresh ingredients. Prices are fair considering quality.“

“Been here a few times since they opened but it's been 5 years since my last visit. Place is small, sales room in the front, brewery on the side and seating in the back, 20 places plus the seasonal patio. Service is efficient and friendly. Flight of 4 for 9$. Beers are ok with some with a little butterscotch coming out too much. Jerk On Wheel truck provides solid Jamaica flavors. If you are in the area.“

“Been here a few times since they opened. Located off of Colonnade in business complex, the place is typical low key little brewery, no more than 15 seats (inside and out) , patio during better weather. Service was efficient and friendly. 8 beers on tap normally, but given 3 of them were off, they also did can pours. 4 X $ ounces for 8$. Beers are OK to a bit off balanced.“

“2022-07-01. Nice small patio, main garage door open today. Lots of cool music memorabilia. Cobain portrait on the tanks? 20 of their own taps plus a few guest taps today. Service is friendly but busy. Our water never showed up. Beers range from not great or not to my taste to decent. Nothing really popped for me. Cool stickers in the bathroom. Nice spot and worth a visit if in the area. “

“2022-06-29. A friend made a last minute reservation for us to sit on the patio with friends at a high top table with an umbrella. I gather they book up quickly at other times. Beer list excellent, but several of the better options are Bellwoods or other Toronto area breweries which is less optimal if you are coming from Toronto like we were :) We were not super hungry so the entrees didn't really grab our attention. Mabel and I opted to share a pasta and literally laughed out loud when it arrived... It's very much not for sharing. It's local, heritage wheat, quality prepared and all of the things that support that, but when they say small plates they aren't kidding. If you are not in the mood for that kind of elevated cuisine eat elsewhere and come for drinks. :) Indoor decor is nice, leaning towards fancy but not too fancy. Service was decent. Recommended.“

“2022-06-30. The bar itself is smaller than I expected, with windows open to the air today. We opted to sit in the "treehouse" patio outside which was charming but I imagine gets cramped if there are more people there than there were today. Decent selection of taps, in a range of styles, which you wouldn't know by the four beers we got in a flight that were VERY similar to each other. In fairness that's true of many places doing hazy hoppy beers, and reflects our choices as much as anything - they do have other styles available. Drive thru option for the store portion is pretty neat, and I assume handy since it's a bit out from downtown. A nice option for contactless pickup as well. Interesting spot! Beers are generally amongst the better options in Ottawa area. “

“2022-06-29. Stopped in to grab some cans to go. Nice spot, fairly empty late on a weeknight. Patio outside. Cozy cottage meets beer hall vibe inside seems nice. Guy behind the bar was friendly. Three different beers available today, so we got a mixed six. Apparently they don't sell singles. I would come back but in the neighbourhood there are some other options. “
