80 /100 701 E PALM CANYON DR Visited October 2022.
Located in the Ace Hotel right next to their little diner/restaurant (King's Highway). A pretty cool place that definitely has that mid-century modern vibe to it. Feels very old school Palm Springs.
The inside is kind of dark and has a lounge feel to it. They also service the bar that faces the pool area, so you can get a beer or cocktail out there, too. Beer list was pretty decent. Looks like they usually have some local options, but none on this day. Stuff from La Bodega, Brewery X, Beachwood, Figueroa Mountain, and even Russian River. Prices are fairly high ($8-10 for a beer).
Service was friendly between the bar staff and the hostess/receptionist in the lobby that pointed me in the direction of the bar.
Pretty cool place, but kind of out of the way so maybe not a huge reason to come here specifically for beers. It is very close to The Reef if you're into tiki bars and pretty close to Mr. Lyons if you're heading there for dinner. |

Apparently this place has been here for three years as they'd just had their anniversary event the day before. Glad to be the first review lul.
On the north end of the downtown drag of Palm Canyon. They have a little patio out front as well as a small beer garden out back. The tasting room has a bar for maybe about 8 as well as some seating around the perimeter.
They had five beers on tap as well as a hard seltzer, a good selection of natural wines, and some nice guest offerings in cans and bottles. Even scored a bottle of Cantillon Broucsella Grand Cru (they also had Classic Gueuze).
Wasn't sure what to expect from the beer here since Palm Springs isn't exactly a beer haven. I actually thought they were all pretty decent, though none were amazing. Service was quite good and very friendly as well.
Definitely one of your best bets for beers out here in the desert. Stop in if you're in town. |
82 /100 Persimmon Bistro (Palm Springs Art Museum) (Restaurant) 101 N MUSEUM DR Visited October 2022.
Located inside the Palm Springs Art Museum, but you don't actually have to pay for admission to the museum to visit if you don't want to. You can go around the north side of the museum and down into a stairwell and go in that way if you want.
The indoor space is fine but you're definitely better off sitting in the little garden space outside (weather permitting).
This is a little bistro/cafe that has some food (appetizers, pizzas, sandwiches, salads), wine, as well as a surprisingly nice beer list. A handful of drafts that feature some of the local breweries, Pizza Port, Societe, as well as an impressive bottle list with Heady Topper, some more obscure Belgian bottles and even barrel aged Fremont stuff.
Prices are pretty reasonable despite being in a museum and in the downtown Palm Springs area.
A good beer spot and you can get a bit of culture while you're at it. |
24 /100 World Market - Palm Springs (Grocery Store) 2465 E PALM CANYON DR This used to be the one place you could buy craft and Belgians. While other places have opened, World Market has gone down hill. Selection is sparse and bottles are poorly handled. You might snag a rarity every once in a while, but you'd be better off at Total Wine, Bevmo, Jensens, Bristol Farms, Whole Feeds ... even Albertsons. |
74 /100 301 N PALM CANYON DR Just opened last week, This is a taproom. Their main location is in Palm Desert and they have another taproom in La Quinta. Well located and scenic patio. Worthy place to go try out some local brews. Good guest taps too. |
58 /100 BevMo (Beer Store) 333 S. PALM CANYON DRIVE SUITE 4 Pretty good selection of craft and imports but Total Wine is the better destination. I just shop here for convenience every once in a while. |
58 /100 Fame Cigars & Wine (Beer Store) 155 SOUTH PALM CANYON DR Holy shit this place is hard to breath in. A few decent beer at exorbitant prices, couldn’t even stay long enough to see what was on draft. Might be worth a stop if you love cigar smoke. |
60 /100 Jensen’s Foods - Palm Springs (Beer Store) 2465 E PALM CANYON DR Big supermarket that has a pretty decent selection of craft beers. Lots of bomber bottles and classics such as great divide and stone. Not much else out in Palm Springs so the selection is pretty decent. |
68 /100 Fame Cigars & Wine (Beer Store) 155 SOUTH PALM CANYON DR I should have known better, but I went here anyway because it was close to the hotel we were staying in for my friends’ wedding.
I’ll say that the beer selection is halfway decent, especially for Palm Springs. They have some decent beers on draft, though nothing crazy or obscure. Lots of bottles to choose from. Seemed like they focused more on Belgian and German beer than stuff from the US, which is okay. A lot of wine available as well, if you choose to go that route. They do have some of the more popular names from US brewers. Main reason that I didn’t care for this place is they really aren’t kidding about the cigars. I can’t really complain about that too much because it’s not like they’re being underhanded about that aspect of the place, but it’s not my thing at all. So, if you like or can put up with cigar smoke everywhere, you might dig it. |
78 /100 Fame Cigars & Wine (Beer Store) 155 SOUTH PALM CANYON DR Fantastic selection of beers so long as you don’t mind cigar smoke. The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly |
74 /100 Fame Cigars & Wine (Beer Store) 155 SOUTH PALM CANYON DR A nice small place with a store in the front, a nice slection of beer bottles. In the back is a separate room, where you can sit in a couch or at a small bar. Several beers of tap and bottles. Nice and freindly staff. |
78 /100 Fame Cigars & Wine (Beer Store) 155 SOUTH PALM CANYON DR Stopped by here a few time while on vacation in Palm Springs. Nice, clean, organized place, beer, wine, and a walk in humidor up front with a bar and smoking lounge in the back. The owner provided great service in picking out cigars and beer. Good bottle selection and a nice draft list as well. Prices were a bit high but it was expected being in the center of Palm Springs. Overall a great place if you like cigars and beer and find yourself in Palm Springs. |
82 /100 701 E PALM CANYON DR Loungey dark nightclub between the pool and the diner at the Palm Springs Ace Hotel. Atmosphere is a little misleading for this premium craft beer destination. 11 great tap handles that constantly rotate as well as a good selection of rare stuff in bottles. |
80 /100 Fame Cigars & Wine (Beer Store) 155 SOUTH PALM CANYON DR Wine and Cigar store that sells beer too. Their selection is not huge but it’s pretty much all well selected. Good for Lost Abbey, Stone, Allagash, Alesmith among others as well as some Beligan, British and German choices. The best stop for hand selected beers. There’s a tasting room/cigar lounge in the back too. Bottles are a bit pricey. (Updated) My rating just went up based on the tasting room taps: Great Divide 17th anniversary, Coronado Saison by the Sea, Liefmanns Cuvee, 2 Chouffes and Delirium. |
68 /100 Jensen’s Foods - Palm Springs (Beer Store) 2465 E PALM CANYON DR Best of the Jensen’s locatiions out here in the desert. Good selection, not huge and a lot of obvious choices but among the best in the desert. Good affinity for Stone, I was directed here for the 2011 release of Imperial Russian Stout and Belgo Anise and was pleased to find both on the first day. Prices are a little steep, 22 oz micros costing $5.99. They do regular beer and wine tastings and an added convenience is the onsite florist - handy for any beer hunter in a relationship. |
58 /100 Larry’s Wine & Spirits (Beer Store) 2781 N PALM CANYON DR Not exceptional but good for our secluded valley. Good selection of Stone and a few Belgians amon others. Worth stopping by for a look especially since it’s on Hwy 111 on the way into Palm Springs. Owner is friendly too. |
74 /100 Fame Cigars & Wine (Beer Store) 155 SOUTH PALM CANYON DR A cigar store with a decent beer and wine collection. They will sell cold bottles in the back to enjoy with your cigar. Everything from Three Philosophers to Flying Dog to some Belgians, Germans and Brits. Considering the selection in the rest of the desert, this ranks up there with the best. |
