“Called in during a couple of days riding at Innerleithen down the road. Just about made it before store closing, but still very much busy. Was greeted with I Wanna Rock by Twisted Sister on the stereo, which was somewhat unexpected. The shop is primarily a wine shop, but does have a nice selection of beer at the back. In addition to about 30 Overtone IPAs, there's a small amount from EU breweries and a nice selection of Scottish craft beer, including some tantalising mixed ferm. No Scottish cider unfortunately. Seems to be the best selection in the area. Friendly service. Prices reasonable.“

“Third best in town (after Bridge & Cross Keys) for Cask Ales but choice not so exciting. Food OK. Fair value all round. Nice old building with nooks & crannies. Toilets a bit of a hike.“

“One of the better JDWs with the standard beer and food menus. Good selection (8+) of Cask Ales. Located in a historical building and offers good accommodation. Service can be iffy. Food not the best around. Popular meeting place for the locals.“

“Cosy friendly bar with attractive outdoor patio at the rear. No children. Best bar in town and for miles for cask ale. Good selection of local and Scottish beers. CAMRA Scottish Pub of the Year 2017.“

“Decent pub located in city center. Seemed newly refurbished. Several rooms which are connected, felt warm and pleasant. They have 6 cask handles, five were on during our visit. One house ale by the name of County Ale, probably rebranded Belhaven. Also Innis and Gunn Lager keg. Rest are usual not so interesting kegs (Tennents etc.). Several Belhaven bottles, Joker IPS and some Brewdog. Food was good. I’d say a decent place to stop for a meal or a pint.“
