“Visited early January 2019 with my brother. If you’ve been to one Binny’s you’ve basically been to them all. Friendly service, knowledgeable if you find the right person. Clean, well lit, corporate box store. I wish more beer was cold as a lot of hoppy brews are sitting out warm. This is a smaller Binny’s for sure, not the ginormous and diverse selection of others, but for those of us from small towns out of state, it’s definitely fine. I could have spend thousands of dollars and still not got every beer I haven’t had.“

“Tap room is inside a brewstore, staff and owners are nice, plenty of parking for its smaller size. The Imperial stouts were outstanding, and the schwarz bier was tasty. Planning on other visits.“

“A great little store that has all of your home brewing needs covered including all grain, extract kits and equipment. Well stocked with a wide range of products. On-site brewery and taproom so you can sample beers while you shop and friendly and helpful staff make this place great.“

“This place is probably more of a lunch or dinner destination for someone looking to try their beers. Friday’s and Saturday nights have live music and a cover and an older crowd. There is a nice patio and a decent selection of their own and other beers that make this place worth stopping by, but avoid weekend nights.“

“Very educated and helpful staff. They don’t always have exactly what I am looking for but they have many options and I have expanded my beer tastes because of the many options. Great place!“

“Stopped in while on vacation. I have always heard of Binny’s, but had never been to one. I am used to large liquor stores, so I was a little disappointing to walk in and it was a 3rd of the size I was expecting. However, the size of the store did not matter, as the selection and service were well worth the visit. Their beer selection was okay, only a few doors of cold beer, but they had a pretty solid selection of room temp bombers. I found the last bottles of 3 Floyds Moloko and Arctic Panzer Wolf, as well as a Eviltwin DK and Russian River / Sierra Nevada BRUX collab. They did have a mix and match single bottle beer section, which was a bit small, but I did grab a few beers I don’t get in CO. The beers staff offered me help and helped me with the questions I had and the lady at the checkout was also very pleasant. Worth a visit for sure!“

“When first walking in, you realize that this is a pretty good sized liquor store. There was a ton of wines and liquors from the middle to the left of the store. The beer was the whole right wall and a aisle or two lined up beside it. The selection was very good, most of what I purchased I cannot get anywhere near where I live. Great beer store, selection and quality were among the best.“

“Easy to find off 59, but the parking is tight. Nice selection of craft brews but living in MN, my main goal was Lost Abbey, which they had plenty of! The singles section was pretty weak and limited. Prices were very reasonable.“

“Cant really call this a beer store... yes, its a great wine & cheese shop, there are maybe 20 beers here though in one small cooler, nothing too exciting. A couple Tyranena, Capital, Two Brothers. Didnt see anything about beer by the glass here as one reviewer stated. We left with a baguette, cheese, and some stuffed mini-peppers. Its right next door to Finnegans, which is the only reason I set foot in here. On RateBeer, this shop really doesnt need a listing.“

“Food here is outstanding! Very friendly and a great neighborhood shop. Thought the service was great and staff knowledgable. Wine selection huge, beer selection slightly smaller but I appreciate quality over quantity. I see some people don’t feel as though this place deserves a spot on rate beer because they do more wine buisness than beer, but cork-dorks ARE the first cousins to beer-geeks. I was not into wine till I was educated by the owners and I can see where the opposite would come into play. Great place!“

“I was pretty much overwhelmed when I started looking at the beer selection. I wanted to pick up one of everything. There are several aisles of six-packs, 12-packs, and cases. Then there are two long aisles of singles and 4-packs. Easily 500 different beers. There is a wall of coolers with a decent selection of 6-pack and 12-packs and a small selection of singles. Great place for the beer enthusiast.“

“More of a wine store than a beer store, this place nevertheless has great ambiance and top notch service. Very cozy feel inside, and the employees know their stuff. The woman I dealt with admitedly didn’t know a lot about beer, but she was able to give me a few recommendations. Small selection of beer, but what they have are unique. You can purchase beers by the 4 or 6-pack or break apart what they have in the cooler and make your own. Beers aren’t cheap, but not outrageous, either. About on par with most beer stores. A very nice feature is that they will keep track of what beers you have tried in their database.“

“Great little shop located in Historic Down Town Plainfield, Ill. They have recently expanded their beer list and now offer Beer, Wine and food by the plate and glass. Now its an awesome eatery/bistro that serves great beer and wine.“

“Of all the Binny’s I’ve been to, this one probably has the widest selection. They do have a singles 12oz. bin, but it’s kinda crap. Other than that the store is top notch and has just about anything you can find in Illiniois. Highly recommended. “

“Dropped in after DLD since it was sort of on my way home. I was like a little kid in a candy store for the first time. What a selection. I was in the store for less than a minute before I was asked if I needed some help. The Ass’t Mgr. is very knowledgable about beer and helpful. I only was looking at the beer, but I saw they had cigars also. Definately worth the stop.“

“What makes this place good is the singles section. They have 3 full coolers of singles, lots of varieties. Prices are fair to high, but most of them are way past their prime. A month ago I saw a bottle of Unibroue Chambly Noire that expired five years ago. Wouldn’t go their again unless I was in the mood for a eight year old Chimay.“

“Now that i don’t work here anymore ! I’ll give you a good incite about this Binny’s. . . Ambiance: Hmmm, a bit fresher look then older binny’s, a good change. . . Service: Depends who you talk to, but overall, pretty damn good. . . Selection: Well, here we go, fucking Illinois. . . . Make a long story short, the Co-Manager who orders the beer, orders everything he can in bulk. . . Food: Great cheeses and meats, Keith knows his beer and can pair beer and cheese in his sleep . . . Value: Well. . . If it’s domestics, don’t buy it unless it’s on sale, otherwise, your not getting a good deal. . . . If it’s on sale, it’s probley a good buy. . . Imports, well. . . if you can come up with a better selection of what you want anyplace around that area besides the Naperville binny’s, then the Value reflects the ability to acquire. . . Overall: Parking BLOWS on the weekends, very small parking lot, but then again, if you get there on a slow day you park right by the door. Good Binny’s better then Naperville.“

“A fine selection to be found here, though I would have liked to have seen more single bottles in the cooler. The overall selection is very impressive and will certainly get another look. The clearance bin had roughly ten different types of beers, and was happy to find a recent fave among them. No help was provided in the beer section, though the cashier was quite knowledgeable when I asked a question regarding variety packs. Definitely worth another visit.“

“Some nice selection, but most of it is overpriced and a relic. 5 or 6 year old beer is, stored in a brightly lit store, not typically any good. Yes, there were a couple of interesting, likely fresh, choices, but most of what I saw was too old, too dusty, or too expensive to take a chance.“

“I live close so I’ve been here a number of times and certainly will go again, but it’s really cluttered, too bright, and, like some other locations, the clearancesingle are past any usefulness. I have found the wine manager to be helpful, but the beer manager doesn’t exist, from my experience. It’s too bad because he or she has put together a nice selection.“

“As the name suggests, this is primarily a wine and cheese shop. The ladies who run this store do, however, appreciate good beer. They stock about 15 or 20 micros (Victory, Unibroue, Left Hand, Two Bros., etc.) and Euros (Stiegl, HB, St. Feuillien, etc.) and have a beer tasting once a month. They also have a Beer of the Month Club that is only $9.99 per month, three bottles each of two beers. Not necessarily someplace that someone who only drinks beer should go out of their way to find, but nice if you also like wine, cheese and friendly staff while in Plainfield.“

“this store looks smaller on the outside but inside it is jam packed with a great selection of beer, cheese, and wine. they are always looking to bring more beers in, they just need more help from some of there distributors. the staff is always knowledgeable in every department. a great store to visit and easily drop $200 and make sure you look at every nook and cranny or you might miss out on something.“

“I was a little concerned about how the selection would be here since the store opened relatively recently and it was a smaller store in size. I was pretty pleasantly surprised by the selection, and I think it is pretty much on par with the Naperville store. Good service and decent prices. I shall return.“

“Situated in the wide open area of west suburbia, this is a place to stop if you need good beer. Spacious, it has a large selection, honestly at least as large as the new South Loop location. (No, no bar and piano, but little pretention and better service.) And they’re looking at expanding the number of beers. I picked up a few new beers, which always makes me happy. And it was an added kick to meet RateBeerian lovemyipas (aka, Dave) there, working as one of the helpful staff. Definitely a place to stop back at.“

“Wow less than five minutes from my Chicago house and an absolute mecca for beer. Went in on a Saturday and there were tons of free samples avaiable (especially for beer!). Staff was friendly and helpful. What a great place the selection is amazing!!! I found a bunch of great beers and dropped at least 200 dollars.“

“I frequent this place, but mainly because it’s the closest bottle shop. Pretty good selection...about six or seven coolers wide plus an aisle of 4, 6, and 12 packs. A bit pricey, but not out of the norm. Not a whole of of ambiance to speak of...it’s just a liquor store with a big beer selection. Service is adequate, although I haven’t run into any employees that know a lot about beer. **Update as of 3/30/09 - Their single bottle collection is dwindling in favor of 6-packs and 4-packs. Not as good a place to find rare beer as it used to be...too bad.**“

“Thanks to Jovee for this entry! The selection of single beers is a pleasant surprise compared to most liquor stores in the Will county area. I coulnd’t find any of the highest rated beers, though the few that I picked out were of high quality. This store also has a wide selection of liquors and has a great deal of space in spite of it’s small strip mall store front. A great location for Will county.“

“Stopped on here on my brother, who lives in the areas suggestion, and was pleasantly surprised. Looks like any other local swill selling store on the outside, but Frankenkitty is defnitely right they have 6 or more coolers, stocked with a nice array singles. A good number of which I have not seen at other area bottle shops. 6 pack selection is far more limited. They did have chilled 6 packs of some Goose Island beers and a few others. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. I’ll be hitting here whenever I visit my brother.“

“The info above stated "60+" bottles, so I was expecting this place to be smaller than it was. Instead we found cooler upon cooler of singles! We couldn’t stay long so I didn’t count, but I estimate they had at least 6 coolers with 50 labels each. A small aisle of warm 6 pack micros, too.... several of which seemed a bit overpriced.

A clean shoppe, carpeted (which I found odd), with a very diverse selection for this store’s seemingly desolate location. The only fault I found today was that they really need to invest in a few shopping carts. “

“My wife has a subscription to the wine-of-the-month club, so I’m in this place often. It is not a beer place, but I’m not as critical as Cornfield. I’ve found beers there I’ve found nowhere else IN THE AREA. I’ve never been to Binny’s or Armanetti’s. They have a monthly beer tasting. That’s more than I can say for many places. Don’t go there looking for anything rare.“

“Looks like a neighborhood liquor store, but inside they have a nifty selection of single bottles, all chilled and ready to drink. I was able to pick up a Bunch (big "B") that I hadn’t had before, a rarity these days. Nothing exotic, but new to me. Good selection over all. I’ll stop back in a few months to see if their stock has rotated at all.“

“THIS IS NOT A BEER PLACE AND NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENTERED! Very quaint, but it’s about wine & cheese as the name clearly states. Which explains why the proprietors (nice people) know little about beer. Probably not twenty brands here, and NONE OF THEM RARE as was entered here. No crap, but nothing rare. I suspect this place was entered as an ad.“
