“This is a modern style bar more or less opposite the Bermuda Triangle. Single roomed, somewhat quiet on my visit but this may be down to the awkward opening hours midweek. It's mostly a keg place but there are a couple of well kept cask ales. It's well worth a visit when in the area.“

“This is a pub in an old Victorian townhouse, well out of the central Poole area. This was the go to pub in the early 2000's for Poole but seems to have been left behind a little on the beer front. There were 5 cask ales on sale but all a bit on the safe side. Lively service in here with a lovely, bouncy barmaid. It's lost it's way a little but still worth popping in.“

“I wasn't going to visit this initially as it is way out of town, but the pickings in central Poole were so bad I caught a bus and after about 20 minutes I was dropped just down the road and boy am I glad I did. It is a bit larger than a micro-pub with 2 decent sized rooms and a small garden area. Friendly and welcoming, 8 beers on cask and a board full of kegs and a whole bunch of ciders. Regular beer festivals. This is a fabulous pub to visit, bring in your own food, dogs very welcome. They just missed out for National Pub of the Year to the Tamworth Tap and they are very similar bars. A must visit in my book.“

“Substantially large micropub with a couple of open plan rooms ending with a pool table deep into the back one. The bar in the middle of the front one has about 8 cask and 8 keg lines with four real ciders and craft cans in a fridge. Sympathetically traditional design and has a jukebox.“

“Pub in the heart of Ashley Cross with conservatory & heated garden. A small selection of local real ales.“

“Easily accessible on the M1 or M2 bus, the Barking Cat is a worthwhile stop en route between Bournemouth and Poole proper. There's a main room where the bar is, and where most punters congregate. There is also a back room with a pool table, where the music (eveything from Traffic to Cilla Black) is a bit louder. Good beer selections: 5 or 6 cask ales and as many ciders, with a good handful of keg including the more readily available (Leffe, Fruli) alongside UK micros and craft gurus such as Weird Beard. Recommended.“

“A very friendly and welcoming Club that allows CAMRA members in (with CAMRA card). 3 guest ales on all the time and very well kept. They were voted Wessex Region CAMRA CLub of the year for 2013/14 and deserved it too! Well worth a visit if in Bournemouth or Poole“
