| 46 /100 435 N LAKE STREET “Really nice space, but quite mediocre beer. At 6 or 6.50 a glass, I felt like I was supporting a charity rather than getting a quality product. I didnt see any locals ordering their beer, rather they stuck to the bottle and can list. Some beers were outright bad. The IPA was the most drinkable, a cascade/centennial blend that tasted like the 90s, in an OK way. An OK spot for a hardcore ticker to stop through, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.“ |

Best bottle/can list I have seen in years, up to date with lots of Drekker, Brewing Projekt cans I have not seen anywhere else. Cool atmosphere, lots of beer artwork. Instantly one of my favorite bars in the state. Maximum recommendation.“ |
| 66 /100 435 N LAKE STREET “I'm trying to hit all the MKE area breweries before I move away. Picturesque coastal town. Nice views of the lake in the park up the hill from this place. Both cozy and cavernous inside. Comfortable. 12 taps about half of house beers. Good selection of guest taps, cans, bottles. Flight of four house beers was $12. Beers are all made well, but one or two were a bit bland. Food menu looked good a decently price but I did not try any food. Staff were friendly and helpful, even if a tad bit pretentious (that's not really the right word, but standoffish doesn't quite work either). Decent stop overall.“ |

Pub food where his tap room may be small but adjoining room is sizable. Place has a view of Lake Michigan. Stout and porters i tried were decent. Cozy place.“ |

Tap list decent but heavy towards Lakefront, which I’m not a fan of. Prices are average. Good place to stop for out-of-towners.“ |
| 88 /100 Sir James Pub (Bar) 316 N FRANKLIN ST “This place has been here for 30 years, and has had a good beer selection for just as long according to the current owner. Taped to one of the beer coolers are old photos from the early 80’s, of bar patrons drinking unusual import beers for the time. Inside the bar is dark and carpeted, an old sailor propped up at the end of the bar to freak out first time visitors (like myself). Lots of interesting old breweriana and sports memorabilia, including a bottle from defunct local brewery Old Port Brewing, and a bottle of Westvleteren 12. The place shows it’s age, but is well-worn and loved. A classic old school beer bar feel, similar to Toronado but cleaner.
They stock close to 500 beers here, and the selection rivals bars in Milwaukee. The owner and his son tend the bar, and are more than willing to chat beer for as long as you want. The beer list is alphabetical, and pages long. The front page lists new arrivals, which they also update on their facebook page. Among them were Jolly Pumpkin, Nebraska Brewing, Chouffe, and more.
We chatted with the owner the whole time we were there, and he mentioned some upcoming tap takeovers and possibly hosting a firkin tapping sometime in the near future.

| 82 /100 Sir James Pub (Bar) 316 N FRANKLIN ST “Thought it was a "pretend" English Pub, but turns out to be much better. Atmosphere is dark, like many Wisc neighborhood taverns. Staff was friendly and knowledgable. Incredible list of beers, mostly by the bottle. Great place to go for a beer tasting with friends. You can put together some great combinations from their list. And they have some really ahrd to find stuff.“ |

They do have a build your own sixer, but you really need to check what you’re grabbing because I’m pretty sure whatever goes on their singles shelf stays there until it’s sold. Bought a build your own & half the beers were skunky, stuff in the cooler seems fine though.“ |

They carried a full range of New Glarus stuff and their prices for these were about a buck a sixer cheaper than other stores I’d recently seen. They also carried Raspberry tart and Belgian Red for 7.99 a bottle while many other places carried these for 8.99 a bottle. They also had single bottle sales and a build a mixed sixer for 8.00. Their selection of Wisconsin and Midwest craft was decent and included some Bell’s. Overall: Not bad, not great, its an OK place to shop if your in the area and its a bit cheaper than the Pig.“ |
