“Friendly and strange brewery that is really just an appendage to a very active bike shop, beside a bike trail. Staff was super friendly--seemed like they outnumbered customers in the shop when I came in to try the beer. Beer is mostly good. Available in pints or half pours, no flights. Prices are good. They had six beers on tap, a good mixture of styles. There's a patio with some rain umbrellas and heaters outside. Stopped in here the other day to do some work in the afternoon.“

“Place rating 1500! Rainy night had to park far away. Place had a few folks inside. Super friendly service, flights available. They have a couple of award winning beers, but what i had was no bueno. Too bad“

“As the name suggests, this is mostly a wine shop with a small selection of beer in the back - quality of the selection must wax and wane here (for example, the previous rarer mentions them having a lot of Blackberry Farm and there are a lot of Adroit Theory beers in the most recent availability info; there were none of these on my visit) - for such a small selection, there was a lot of focus on pretty common import craft brands (Unibroue and a whole shelf worth of those Einstock beers from Iceland, for some reason) - the local craft selection lacked stylistic diversity (mostly IPAs and lagers), though that may have more to do with the stylistic monoculture that is modern craft brewing than the store - I was pleased to find a four pack of the Lickinghole Creak blueberry imperial stout here, which salvaged my visit and was the one thing I purchased - I’d hit up the Total Wine up the road if you want a wide selection.“

“Nice, kind of cookie-cutter American Pub-style restaurant. Food was decent, tap list isn't entirely impressive, but there's a few things worth noting. There's better beer options out there for the more adventurous of raters out there.“

“Stopped in for a quick beer, second time I have been to this location. Service was slow at the bar, but there is a good selection on tap with broad lower 48 brewery variety. The prices are quite high though.“

“Difficult to find, parking can be a challenge. We solved both and it was worth it. As you leave the parking on the hill you walk down steps that open into a large plaza area. The brewery is on your right with seating inside and outside. Outside you can see a quay from the lake with a water fountain on the lake. Seating on cushions or high chairs is available. Limited beer offering but the IPA was very good. We also had a cheese pretzel which was excellent. The location has a Northern European vibe. No Pepsi or Diet Coke available.“

“Went there about a month ago when I was in the Reston area. Kind of hard to find if you aren't sure what you're looking for. Found a close lot that seemed to be safe to park in, though we might have just been lucky. Very small location, with at least two rooms to it, with a patio that might be nice from Spring to Fall. At least 8 beers on tap when I was there. Staff was nice. Beers were standard micro/nano offerings. Maybe not worth going out of your way to come there, but if you're in the area, worth it.“

“Virginia is one of those weird states where liquor can only be sold in government-run ABC stores, so this place only has beer and wine - it's your standard Total Wine - large, brightly-lit interior - one long aisle of beer, organized alphabetically (and by seasonal and imports) - special releases also have their own shelf in the back near the growler fill station - barely any of the beer is refrigerated, which irks me - most beers in six or four packs are available as singles (also not refrigerated) - staff is pretty absent until it's time to check out - pretty good prices, but I don't have many frames of reference for this region - it's a good store, but in the name of all that is holy, put some more coolers in here and stop cramming half of the space in them with MGD!“

“Probably the smallest selection I've seen in a Whole Foods - one tiny corner with a small cooler and a couple of shelves of beer - on the small size in general for a Whole Foods, so kind of crappy all around - there's a Total Wine literally in the same parking lot, so I have no idea why you'd even come here.“

“This is a hard to find little brewery in historic, modernist Reston. Go on their website to find out how to get there because google maps will lead you astray. The place is small but has a few different rooms plus a patio with a great view of Lake Ann. There are seven beers on tap plus Kombucha and coldbrew. The beers were mostly traditional session beers (Altbier, grisette, amber, brown ale). Nothing was outstanding but everything was good enough. This brewery is a good excuse to visit one of the nicer parts of NoVa built after WWII (very few of those places exist). Also their pretzels are very good. Looks like they have growlers too. People serving the beer were really nice and chatty.“

“I liked this very much. More of a nanobrewery than a brewpub, I don't think they had much food and I did not try any. The selection was standard for nanobrewery, the beer was decent if not stellar. (they also had coffee and kombucha) I was charged $5 for two 5 oz tasters, which I consider reasonable. What knocked it out of the park for me was ambiance and service. The place was smallish, with a nice simple modern decor. I find Lake Anne to be a perfect craft beer setting, It was all very chill. The server was friendly, knew all about the beer, encouraged samples, and just generally enhanced the experience. I have no idea about parking,, as I biked there.“

“Small bar and restaurant located in Reston Town Center. One of three franchise locations re-branded from World of Beer, hadn’t been here while it was WoB but I imagine it probably looked identical. Parking garage across the street, free on weekends. L shaped bar with a good amount of stools, ample amount of table seating. Pretty empty on a Saturday afternoon. Friendly service but a bit slow. Nice variety of drafts with flights available in sets of 4. Food was pretty tasty, had the CraftHouse tots (tots with jalapenos, bacon, beer cheese, scallions, sour cream) and fried chicken sliders. A little pricey but about average for the area. Solid place given the lack of beer bars around Herndon/Reston. Worth a stop if you’re near Reston looking for a bite and some beers.“

“Free big dedicated parking. Typical wine boutique. Service was pretty good. Selection was quite good (quite a bit of Blackberry Farms beers) considering the limited selection. Pricing seemed going rate. The guy that ran the place seemed interested in procuring good beers, I plan to come back when time permits.“

“A really small shop in the Lake Anne shopping center. Looks like it was once an apartment or something that was converted to a business. The brewery operation is rather small with about six 20-30 gallon tanks for brewing beer. Beer was pretty interesting but nothing that blew my doors off. There is a small patio outside which would be good to drink beer on during the warmer months. The inside is well designed with a modern yet simple design. You feel welcome when you walk in, it’s very inviting. You just want to immediately grab a beer and site down in one of the comfy chairs. There are nocks all over the place for people to gather and mingle which is nice as well. No food but a few snacks are offered if you get the munchies.“

“I came here on a Saturday when they had a farmer’s market, so traffic was a bit rough. I eventually found street parking a few blocks away, then just followed the directions on the website, walking toward the hi rise until I could see the small (artificial?) lake. You can do paddleboats or paddleboards on the lake if you like. The brewery is small, but has a prime spot on the water with a nice patio and some umbrellas for shade. Inside there’s a small bar and a few scattered tables. Staff are helpful and enthusiastic. Six or seven beers on when I visited, plus some really tasty radlers made with kombucha from a nearby kombucha brewer. You can do samples, full pours, or flights of as many as you like. The beers were OK, nothing out of the ordinary. Food is huge pretzels or chips/crisps. Worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood.“

“Well, this was a most difficult brewery to find. As Josh and Donnie have noted. I came with GenDV110+OT, and thank God he was driving, I probably would have aborted the mission if I were in charge. Nice but small place; the patio is the key area to be in. Only had 2 of 6 beers left after one day open. Maybe someone miscalculated something there. Beers were ok. Bar guy was nice.“

“Typical Whole Foods located in a shopping center just off Reston Parkway, ample parking in the lot. Beer is located in the back left corner past the produce section. Small aisle with refrigerated packs on one side and single format bottles on the other. They also had cases of 8 month old Founders Harvest Ale for $12 per four pack. Not much you can’t find elsewhere. Beer prices were reasonable to pricey. Didn’t notice the growler station. Skip it unless you have time to kill and want the place tick.“

“Cool, scenic small microbrewpub on a lake near Dulles airport. Great little patio - if you manage to snag a seat overlooking the lake it’s pretty cool. Beers are all at least well done for the style, with a couple above average. Nice to have a pub that just does the basic styles well without any insanity. Very friendly staff. They only had four of their six beers on tap when I visited on a sunny Sunday - they seemed to be popular with people in the neighborhood. Great place to stop in if you’re nearby at Aslin. Also, check GenDV138’s deScription for arriving - they aren’t where they are listed on Google maps.“

“Visited during a DC/VA brewery crawl with DCLawyer. New nanobrewery in Reston. Don’t rely on GPS after turning off of Baron Cameron Avenue, it’ll take you to a condo/apartment area. If coming from Baron Cameron, take a left on North Shore and then a right into the huge parking lot. From there, walk between the big buildings towards the water and the brewery is on the right. Pretty small tasting room: small bar, a few tables, and a patio with a view of the lake. Six of their own beers though they were out of four after their grand opening the previous day, a little disappointing. Would be a decent stop paired with other breweries in the area, after they up their supply.“

“What a pleasant surprise. About 2/3 of this place is wine and 1/3 is beer. Beer selection is very interesting and well chosen, nothing at all routine about that. Dave introduced himself and was happy to chat about his collection. Prices were good. Parking was easy, since it’s a strip mall location. Definitely worth going out of your way to visit.“

“An upscale Thai place located in Reston Town center, this place has some really solid, though slightly pricy, Thai food. The beer selection is a little better in bottle than the pedestrian tap but it’s certainly not a beer destination. It’s a "I want to go out to eat but I don’t want to suck on BMC all night" type of place. Good food though“

“A hidden gem located in a well-to-do shopping center in Reston in a store full of wood shelving and track lighting. Head straight to the back because that is where the beer is. They have a cooler of craft beer and 3-4 shelves as well. What this place lacks in quantity it more than makes up for in quality. They have stuff here I haven’t seen anywhere else in Northern Virginia. Dave is one of the better salespeople I’ve seen. Equally comfortable with wine and beer. Friendly to everybody who walks in the store. He says he stocks the stuff he would like to see if he were a customer. The prices are slightly higher than other locations but with service this good and beers this rare I’m definitely going back.“

“Dave runs the beer section and is clearly passionate about craft beer. He is very friendly and seems equally knowledgable about the beer and wine that they sell. The store is only 20% beer scattered around the back of the store, but what they have is all quality. He tends toward Mikkeller, Evil Twin, Avery, great divide, Stillwater and numerous seasonals. They have some ciders I haven’t seen elsewhere, that I’m excited to try. They don’t have many locals, but he’ll order for you. They have beer events like a great lakes tasting coming up this next weekend. This is clearly a wine store where one of their folks got craft beer religion, so you’ve got to support that when it is done well. The prices are a tad high, but average for Reston.“

“Crowded aisles, smaller selection for a NoVa grocery store. I would rather go elsewhere. I don’t like whole foods in general, but some of them do have a decent selection. This one is in the low middle from my experience. I think I was a little too harsh so I’ve revised my rating up slightly.“

“Whole foods beer sections are pretty hit and miss. This one is small but fairly potent. They have a cooler with six packs and some large bottles as well as an adjacent shelf with singles and other large bottles. They also have 5 taps and they fill and sell 32 and 64 ounce growlers. In keeping with Whole Foods philosophy there’s no BMC here. The six packs seem to get way more turnover than the singles so this could be a good secondary or tertiary beer store when it comes to getting seasonals.“

“Visited on a Friday night where the bar area was very crowded and very loud overpowering the vibe in the dining room. For a place that calls itself a taproom the beer selection was pretty boring. Lots of BMC, with a few local and craft taps. The backlight menu disguises a semi-permanent beer selection except for seasonal taps of which they ony had one which was out. They also served all their beer in refrigerated pint glasses which did the Racer 5 IPA I had no favors. The food was solid but not spectacular. The Mac and cheese had a grainy texture to it. The Cajun fish sandwich was a bit underseasoned. The prices are typical for the region like 6 bucks for a 12 ounce draft of Victory the love (which is to say high!) coming here multiple times will quickly exhaust their beer list but it’s better than Jackson’s.“

“Good central location, nice backlit menus. Nice selection of draft and bottled beers. Food generally good on my five visits in two weeks, though service varies a lot. I agree with the previous rater on the annoyance with the cold beer glasses.“

“A larger Whole Foods than others in the area with a fairly large beer selection. I was able to find a dusty bottle of Biere de Garde here that was fairly rare. Stop by if you are in the area.“

“went at lunch -The Thai food is fabulous (and if their menu says spicy, they mean it unlike some Thai restaurants I’ve been to!), the craft beer selection is average. I wish they had craft beer on tap instead of the usual BMC choices. All their craft stuff is in bottles or cans.“

“Met some friends from work. Its got that small bar and grill vibe with tons of TVs and an excellent location in Reston Town Center. The craft beer is mainly in bottles and the selection is OK. (note back a year later and the selection looks about the same). They annoying give you a cold glass to go with your cold beer. I’d rather have the glass at room temp so it doesn’t affect the taste of the beer. We tried several appetizers which were all pretty good. The server was competent, but we didn’t see her very often once we placed our orders. Overall, I’d come back for the food, but not specifically for their beers.“

“Finally got the chance to stop here, meaning the Springfield store is the only Virginia Whole Foods I have not visited. Small location, but bigger than it appears from the parking lot. That being said, it is still cramped inside, and tough to get around, especially around the beer section. The beer section is small, but good. Oddly, there was a sign describing growlers, with not a growler to be found. Employees were friendly for the most part. Parking could get cramped. Prices were a bit on the high side.“
