“Food is pretty good. A little jaunt from Auckland proper. Spacious. Staff was very friendly, the ride was scenic. So their special brew is a lot better and more complex than their core distributables, which are in styles that don't offer a lot of upward mobility for rating. My work crew had a great time here after a long project. Worth the short drive from Albany or Northcote or north cross-harbor Auckland. Around 16 beers on tap, maybe 20. Also all the beers they distribute are available for takeout.“

“A big space off the highway, small parking space considering but inside is a bunch of tables including bar tables and some patio stuff too. A dozen beers on tap, food was pretty good. Service was just right. Beer quality is clean though standard. A decent place though it can be hard to reach.“

“Really big place with a huge amount of outdoor and indoor seating. Selection is just Hallertau beers, which are good, though not the biggest selection. Food is outstanding. Definitely worth a visit, but more for the food than beer.“

“2016-05-09.We stopped for lunch at the Hallertau Brewpub, on the outskirts of Auckland. We shared a pizza with venison sausage, mushroom, and chilli pesto. Braised beef croquettess are tasty but very rich. Mustard mayo should lean more towards mustard and less towards mayo. Friendly staff. The way our waitress says schwarzbier is a delightful combination of German meets kiwi accent! Brewpub has very cool outdoor space, and an outdoor kitchen. It feels a bit like a German beer hall relocated to a beach resort. Inside is fine but not as charming. Very good mouth feel on all the beers which is nice. Bottles and growlers available to go. Beers are all decent to pretty good but not many stood out as excellent.“

“There wasn’t much I didn’t like about this place. I visited on a summery Sunday afternoon with brother, wife, niece and nephew in tow and without a booking. We were seated expeditiously by the friendly service staff and the rules were bent for me slightly as the seasonal brews do not usually go in the tasting paddle, or was this a ruse to make me feel special? Ice creams arrived immediately for the cherubs and we enjoyed a spell in the stylish surroundings. The staff were attentive and my only gripe with the place that the live music was a touch on the loud side. Nevertheless, a must visit in Auckland.“

“Large place with lots of benches, tables, barstools inside and out on porches. Car park was full at lunchtime. Four beers and a cider available in a tasting paddle, as well as a couple of interesting beers on draft, and a few Hallertau bottles. Beers were tasty. Food was OK, but I should have had the ribs. Servers were friendly and efficient. Liberty brought their brewing equipment with them when they joined recently, so the brewery portion will be refitted and be visible from the bar. Nice place, headed in a good direction.“

“A must visit. Wonderful beers and a lovely environment to enjoy the awesome Hallertau beers. Accessible only by car but more than worth it. There’s limited 750ml bottles available for takeaway in the fridge, including the barrel aged and funky stuff. Friendly and chatty staff. Great to chat with Steve. Need to get back soon!“

“Great relaxed brewpub with 4 standard taps, a seasonal and a guest, along with a fridge full of NZ craft beer and the old international. Brilliant place to spend a lazy weekend. Shame it is so far to get there, but maybe that’s why I love it.“
