54 /100 Van Dorst (Beer Store) SPOORSTRAAT 92 Big store with a relatively small selection of beers, mostly Belgian. Not really interesting, except for a few unknown local beers. |
60 /100 Van Dorst (Beer Store) SPOORSTRAAT 92 Medium sized drinks store with beers in the back. Very well presented, very neat and clean store with spacious layout. Selection is mostly Belgians with lots of Trappist and abbey beers. From growing up here I know this is the stuff locals love. Lots of gift packs and large sized bottles too. Prices are very decent, but I guess they have to being so close to the border... They did have lots of Westvleteren it it definately wasn’t 4 euro. Decent enough place. |
74 /100 Captain Cook’s (Bar) MARKT 17 Gezellige tent met keuze uit veel biersoorten |
44 /100 Van Dorst (Beer Store) SPOORSTRAAT 92 Nothing much of any consequence here apart from Westy Blond (€4). Selection is otherwise limited, you can pick up 90% of their stock in an average sized supermarket. Pricing is very reasonable. Ample parking space outside the shop. |
54 /100 Café de Sjoes (Bar) MARKT 16 Nice cafe, with a quite normal selection of food and beers. Some local beers on list, nice surprise. Food is good. |
82 /100 Café de Sjoes (Bar) MARKT 16 The selection is very good here and the prices are good as well. The music isn’t very loud and service is good enough... |
70 /100 Captain Cook’s (Bar) MARKT 17 Great ambiance, large selection of beers, bad service and expensive. |
74 /100 Café de Sjoes (Bar) MARKT 16 visited here after the Essen Christmas beer festival and had a good time, there is equal parts Belgian and Dutch beer on tap and the bartender/owner was very helpful. Prices are very low the bar stayed open later than the posted close time because we were still drinking. |
70 /100 Captain Cook’s (Bar) MARKT 17 A verry nice looking bar. Fast service and reasonable prices. Nice and big terace at the back. |
62 /100 Captain Cook’s (Bar) MARKT 17 A neat looking forward cafe with 10 tabs with are 3 changable of it. Music is not to loud (so you can have a good conversation). Fast service and reasonable prices.
There is also a restaurant in it, but this isn’t so good and high prices. |
50 /100 Van Dorst (Beer Store) SPOORSTRAAT 92 Small hall with is used as a shop for spirits and beer. There are very much Belian beers in the selection, a few German and though they had some Dutch also (mostly swill though). To bad for a dutch beerhall. You can also buy giftpacks.

68 /100 Van Dorst (Beer Store) SPOORSTRAAT 92 (Visited on December 2007 with oh6gdx) Average selection with the emphasis on larger Belgian breweries and gift-packs with glasses. Reasonable prices on the Westvleterens. |
68 /100 Proeverij Caruso (Restaurant) NISPENSESTRAAT 21 Lovely pub/restaurant surroundings, really cozy place The music was on a good level. Food was quite ok, though for the prizes the portions could have been bigger. The service was really friendly, though a bit slow at times. Since this was my first time in the Netherlands (actually first publike thing visited in the country), there were quite many new, but common, Dutch beers on the list I hadn’t had. The Scheldebrewn Caruso (a.k.a. their housebeer) was one of the reasons to visit the place while staying in Roosendaal. Arnulfus Tripel was also said to be a special beer for the area. |
66 /100 Van Dorst (Beer Store) SPOORSTRAAT 92 Nice shop for spirits and beer. OK selections at friendly prices. Main focus seemed to be on Belgian beers, though they had some Dutch also (mostly swill though). Also had giftpacks and a lot of glasses (mostly for the beers they sold)

64 /100 Proeverij Caruso (Restaurant) NISPENSESTRAAT 21 Nice atmosphere and music not too loud - yes. However, the food was not that great, and beer selection was limited to few dozen familiar ones, plus the house beer and Roosendaal’s Arnulfus Tripel. |
70 /100 Van Dorst (Beer Store) SPOORSTRAAT 92 A nice beer shop if your ever in Roosendaal Netherlands. They carry most of the trappist beers, some lambics, local area brews, along with gift sets. They also have a nice selection of glasses. The staff was very helpful and even wrapped a bottle for christmas gift. |
90 /100 Proeverij Caruso (Restaurant) NISPENSESTRAAT 21 It has a good ambiance for serious beerdrinkers Normally without annoying young and loud pilsener drinking crouds. Music not to loud (so you can have a good conversation). and it has a very good restaurant. |
78 /100 Café de Sjoes (Bar) MARKT 16 Café with the most diffrent beer is Roosendaal and it has a good ambiance (lots of posters of beer brands on the walls). Music not to loud (so you can have a good conversation). Fast service and reasonable prices. No food.
