“Brand new store from Sobeys chain. Clean, well organized with efficient service. Reminded me of LCBO in Ontario. Too bad many local beers are sold in 4 packs. Worth of visit.“

“Large English-style pub right downtown, adjoining the Hotel Senator that we stayed in during our visit, so super convenient if you want to get loaded here and stumble upstairs to bed. It's certainly British/Irish feeling inside, with a sort of run-down feeling, but otherwise pretty comfortable. The server proudly advertised their 76 taps, though it turns out many were out, and many of those taps are macro swill you wouldn't want to touch with a ten-foot pole. Still, large selection of SK craft, similar to what you'd find at, say, Congress Beer Hall around the corner. Flights of 4 available for $10 plus tax, not bad for a bar. Very friendly, attentive service. Mandatory visit when in Saskatoon.“

“Just a few minutes walking from the city centre, this is an intimate little spot with strange hours (11am-7pm six days a week as of now). They had 8 house taps plus a guest tap when I visited, with flights of 4 available for $10. Beer quality was profoundly mediocre, with nothing standing out and a few being pretty off-base. Very friendly service. Wouldn’t rush back.“

“Huge place just outside downtown. It feels simultaneously like a giant warehouse and a nicely designed modern taproom. Large taplist of almost app SK taps, including 6 of their own. Flights of 4 available for $10 plus tax. Their own beers are okay, perhaps slightly above the SK standard. Friendly staff. I didn’t eat as the menu wasn’t very vegan-friendly. Definitely worth a stop when in Saskatoon.“

“Just around the corner from Winston's, this is a pretty solid bar that offers a fair selection of SK craft. 32 taps, with maybe 10 devoted to SK craft, another dozen to other craft, and the rest to macro crap. No flights or small pours, but staff will let you sample anything you want. 12, 16 or 23 oz pours for the most part, with somewhat high prices (min $6 for a beer plus tax). Good place to try SK craft in general though. Very friendly service. Worth a visit when in Saskatoon.“

“Doubt this place has changed much over the years. 10 or so minutes driving from the centre, this is a no frills retail shop where they sell cans/bottles and do growler fills. Maybe you could squeak out a sample or two from their taps. They had maybe a dozen at most of their beers available for reasonable prices, so I found a few I hadn't had. Friendly woman working the shop. Worth hitting if in Saskatoon, as it's one of the only place I've found where you can buy singles of SK beers.“

“Right next to Earl's / Saskatoon Brewery, this is a more upscale place, hence the name. Decent (for Saskatchewan) beer selection in the back left with a 2-3 fridges full of craft. Saw some LTM, other stuff from across Canada, some SK stuff of course, and some imports. The prices were insanely high, so much so that it'd dissuade me from ever shopping here even if they had stuff I wanted. Might be worth checking out for the selection, but be prepared for sticker shock.“

“Right downtown on a corner street, this is a sad little bottle shop. They've got maybe a dozen cans of craft, all in 4-packs. Sad little place. Don't bother.“

“Never thought I’d be visiting an Earl’s to try beers, but since the brewery was closed, I thought I’d sample the Saskatoon Brewery beers here. It’s actually a decent taplist if you’re looking for SK beers. I counted about 14 taps. No flights, just 12 oz pours or lager. If you visit during Happy Hour, 12 oz pours of Saskatoon Brewing beers are $3.75. The house beers sucks by the way. Could barely drink any of them. As an Earl’s, it’s pleasant; as a beer spot; it’s pretty average, so that’s what my rating reflects.“

“This is a beautiful place...definitely worth checking out when in Saskatoon...old fashioned upscale British pub décor and ambiance. There is a very nice selection of area beers...but what hasn't been mentioned in the reviews yet (because the last review is 2 years old) is that Winston's is now brewing their own beer (at least they said they were making it on the premises...because I specifically asked if it was contract brewed and they said no...that they were making it) under the name of "21st St. Brewery". It was a small selection and somewhat inauspicious...but hopefully a start to be build upon. The guest taps were the strong suit...allowing me to try some local breweries I couldn't have sampled only being in Saskatchewan for 3 days. Since I had just visited Rebellion the day before...I skipped most of theirs...my favorite breweries sampled here were "High Key" and "Paddock Wood". The icing on the cake for me was when I asked to purchase one of their English style pub glasses with logo (Winston's "and" 21st St Brewery)...they gave me the glass as a gift! All in all...good time in cool place.“

“They do have a good selection (although the menu is often only 3/4 available), which is about average price for the city (expensive). The real drawback of this place is that the service is horribly slow (and I’ve been to Winstons A LOT). The food is standard decent pub food. The owner seems to be disconnected with what is actually available, often tweeting beers that they don’t have.“

“Nice small place in the back of Earl’s. They usually have 4 or 5 of their own beers on tap, which are well made brews. Good for a few casual beers, but nothing exceptional about the place.“

“A brewery (SB), a restaurant (Earl’s) and an off sale (Ingredients) all in one. The two formers are somewhat solid in trendy and slightly over-priced stuff. Ingredients Offsale is ridiculously priced. 6-pack of beers for ~$17 with a growler at $20.“

“Okay selection but the prices are higher than anything I’ve seen in Canada - this is Monaco pricing. 6-packs of Phillips Blue Buck and Lighthouse Switchback are DOUBLE the cost of what I pay in BC at $24 and $28 respectively. They also had bottles of Rogue (660ml), HaandBryggeriet (500ml) and Nogne O (500ml) for around $11. Just floors me“

“This is a really nice store. It’s small but about 5 coolers of beer all in singles. Prices are crazy, but I understand why... Their licensing basically means they pay retail and then have to mark it up. Hopefully they receive a better license because the selection is really quite good. The store also has a deli, lots of food products and wine. They all sell growlers of Saskatoon Brewery... Which I know nothing about“

“So have now been here twice for food and some beers at lunch and although downtown is a bit of wasteland there has to be better this. First off if you want food do not come here - the menu is pub fare poorly made and poorly executed (a balsamic salad dressing with no oil and a stir fry with bottled teriyaki sauce). Service is hit and miss and they know very little about beer, and the beer selection may be ok but walking a few blocks to Cava offers much better selection. Heck even on tap the selection wasn’t that great with only 2 paddock wood (which is a 10 minute drive away), some big rock and great western. Gave it a second chance but will not make the mistake of a third.“

“Large, open style British pub with a pretty monster size tap list. Sort of half Canadian beer on tap and half import. Bottle list is sizable but nothing immediately stood out being mostly easy to find stuff. Found some Saskatchewan and Alberta beers on tap here. Paddock Wood, the good local microbrewery distributes here, but all of their stuff was not available when I visited. Didn’t try the food but looked like your typical pub grub. Definitely worth stopping in at night- it gets crowded but was never overwhelming. Cool place.“

“The Fox and Hounds is a low grade English Pub with the Worst house beer I have ever had. The food is average fare and OK when it is cooked, which is rare. If you like good service avoid The Fox because the staff members are blatantly rude, and still expect a 20% tip. The overall atmosphere is spoiled by too many TV’s, and a general attitude of ’It’s All About The Staff!’“

“Good food and beer selection. They have pages of import beer, but only about 3/4 of it is available. Plenty of taps from around the world including Paddock Wood brews. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating. The decor is older looking wood with lots of pew like benches. Not always the cleanest tables, but it will do. The place gets pretty busy at night, so get there early.“

“Friendly staff, lots of selection for the homebrewer. Lots of parking too. The beer is cold and ready to go. They have almost all of the current offerings, which is nice. I have never had anything but fresh beer from here. What pisses me off (no fault to Paddock Wood) is that I can’t get nay seasonals or rare offerings without driving 3 hours to Saskatoon, yet Albertans can get anything of theirs. Thank you SLGA for making it almost impossible to enjoy local beer.“

“Disappointing service, called a few times and was promised call backs with answers. no callbacks at all. only ever tried two of their beers (6packs) one right from their shop [noire stout.. completely flat and skunky 0/10] and one from the beer store [black cat lager... contaminated and gushing. 0/10]. will not buy any more. I make better beer at home, thanks.“

“This could be an amazing place!! It seems so hard to mess up a joint housed in a old firestation, but here we are. Full of D-bags, the clueless, and those who just want to puke in their taxi on the way back to their Mom’s house. Unless you are one of the aforementioned, stay clear.“

“A glum looking beerhall with a long bar along the East wall. Quint. A student hang-out with much potential... unfortunately the beers brewed along with Whiskey Jack’s are god awful (with the exception of Whiskey Jack’s Stout which is decent but not available here).“

“Easily the finest brewshop on the Canadian side of the border. The only shop in Canada to rival, or even better the all-grain shops in the SF Bay Area. What they don’t have, they will find. Freshest yeast! Fresh/frozen hops. The best grain selection in Canada. And check this out- in addition to being a microbrewery and selling bottled beers - these guys make fresh wort kits! Unique- I’ve never seen anything else quite like it. The shop is eclectic- be prepared for serious beer geekness- but the staff is very friendly, and there is usually one of the brewers around who can answer almost any question- or will find out the answer and call you back.“

“Ratings all refer to website and phone service as I’ve not had the pleasure of travelling there in person. I have ordered brewing supplies from Paddock Wood many times both over the phone and on the website and have always received excellent service, prompt shipment, and found the prices to be reasonable. What they don’t have they can generally find for you or at least point you in the right direction to find it. An excellent online homebrew shop.“

“A good selection of Great Western and Big Rock brews, some Unibroue (cheap!) and very limited Imports. Mainly macro beers. The staff is extremely kind and helpful but not necessarily knowledgeable about beers - they usually gather 3-4 staff together to answer a question. This store is at the Westend of town (22nd Street at Circle Drive); if you find yourself in the Eastend - the SLGA store on 8th Street at Circle Drive has a similar selection.“

“Not worth going out of your way to get DICK! The house brew, Dick’s Beer, came highly unrecommended... though I ordered it anyhow. A minute passes, a small commotion at the bar begins and the waitress returns to tell me that they they are all out of Dick’s kegs. The menu looked to be typical pub grub. Not much good to write about this bar - TOO many TVs. Grab me a Hein-y...“

“The Pat... located on the north-side of the Patricia Hotel seems to have one of the better selections of local micros and major canadian macros in the downtown core. The prices are slightly elevated. Should you have the time or a vehicle - I would suggest going to the SLGA (Provincially run Liquor Store) on either 8th Street East at Circle Drive [East] (~70 bottles) or 22nd Street West at Confederation Mall [Circle Drive West] (~70 bottles). The Pat has a good selection of Big Rock and Great Western. Sold almost exclusively in 6-packs to 24s.“

“Open-style English Pub resembles the Titanic’s dining room - only segregated by low-slung booths in the middle of the room. Truly a calming atmosphere. The selection is VERY impressive for this part of the country - though the prices are what you’d see in Toronto - I paid $8.95 for a bottle of Phillip’s Expresso Stout (from Victoria, BC.). Also on the menu were numerous worthy German and English beers... not to mention Cave Creek Chili Beer! Other than the OVER-CHILLED beers and the difficulty getting out from behind the church pews - I have very little to complain about. Great selection of draft and bottles. The bathrooms... yes, the bathrooms, smelt of a vanilla candle burning in a wooden Quebec cottage. I visited a second time and enjoyed the Saigon Salad at $8.95“

“Excellent food value - I got a decent sized Steak Sandwich as part of the lunch special for and AMAZING $5. The steak was extremely tender - like it had been beaten for a solid week! And it wasn’t presented with and sauces or gravy - beautiful! I could taste the true flavour of the steak. Dreadfully expensive appetizers at $8-9. Entrees were in the $13 range. Lunch is obviously the best deal. So why am I not talking about the beer??? Because the bartender served me the Manchester Strong and it was PINK... they have stopped brewing beers and now only brew FRUIT Beers. Watch for my reviews of the Fruit Beers...“

“Another Toon-town brewpub with a annex full of Video Lottery Machines. The COCK-shaped bar is hilarious!!! The beers were the worst of any of the Malt House pubs (they use the same brewmaster though this brewpub is independent). Off-sale is found in the rear. I ordered the Beef-Dip for dinner and found it VERY SMALL and expensive at $9 (no fries included).“
