64 /100 BLAKE STREET
“In the suburbs just north-west of the city centre opposite a park. Named after the street it is on the end and corner of, if you approach it from Central Sheffield by foot be prepared for a steep climb to the top of Blake Street to reach it. You'll find a very tidy looking open plan traditional pub with a decent row of locally crafted ales here - well worth taking on the incline.“

“If you want bottled Thornbridge beers in Sheffield, then this is the place to visit. All the latest releases, including Thornbridge Hall beers, as quick as anywhere else, at prices that only the brewery themselves can beat. Other beers and cider are available, as well as high quality, local meat and groceries. Slightly off the beaten track, and their Twitter and Facebook pages don’t give much away, as far as beer is concerned. Still a favourite of mine, though.“

94 /100 BLAKE STREET
“In an unlikely location at the top of Sheffield’s steepest street, off the beaten track, this a worth a detour for any beer or whisky lover. Rescued from closure a year or so ago, it has quickly developed a loyal following for its friendly atmosphere, ever changing ales and ciders and legendary whisky selection. The interior is classic Belgian brown cafe style, and the prices are some of the cheapest in the city. The monthly whisky tastings are very popular and the selection of rums and gins is none too shabby either. Comfortably one of the best places in the city already, attracting a mix of locals, professionals, students, runners, academics and others in search of an authentic place.“
