62 /100 Woodseats Palace (JDW) (Bar) 692 CHESTERFIELD ROAD Up the hill on the main road south out of the centre towards Sheffield. The traffic moves quite slow around the pub as it’s in the middle of a small commercial centre that straddles both side of the main road. The pub itself is quite an ordinary Wetherspoon with little reason to visit other than if you’re passing as I have done on a couple of occasions. You should find a few ales from the regularly rotating set you find in this chain’s pubs so it’s not the worst option if you’re in this suburb of the city. |
88 /100 145 DERBYSHIRE LANE A lovely pub with fab bar staff and a great selection of beers |
84 /100 145 DERBYSHIRE LANE This place gets better every time a visit. Tom is truly tuned in to the craft beer movement and The Cross Scythes is testament to that. The selection is eclectic with something for all. Plenty of craft keg along with the more traditional. Nice tidy Pub with a massive outdoor area for if the weather allows.Well worth a visit! |
80 /100 145 DERBYSHIRE LANE Very nice Thornbridge pub near Woodseats. Nice comfortable modern interior, open fire, patio and beer garden. 7-8 cask and 4-5 keg beers as well as a small bottle range, most from Thornbridge but always a few guests. Reasonable prices and always a good range of styles. Friendly, knowledable staff. Food is served, I haven’t had the chance to try any so have not rated food. Very good, worth a visit. |
